CHAPTER 11

I woke up in the morning, bright and early. I was thankful to God that I didn't have any nightmare. Chris was right. With that I remembered my encounter with Chris. I love the feeling. I shake my head and looked at the clock, it was 7am. "Seriously, I woke up this early. I used to wake up this early when I had my job. I have to find a new job." I was thinking when someone knocked on the door.



Cassie: Come in.



Iris: Thank God you are up. Now move your butt and get ready. Vacations are over darling. Get your butt back to work.



Cassie: Wait what? Work???



Iris: Yes! Dad said your hard work is irreplaceable, so move it lazy butt.



Cassie: Okay fine. I'm going.



I almost couldn't't believe I still had my job. I took a quick shower and changed in dark blue skinny jeans and white buttoned up shirt and white Snickers. I wasn't ready to wear knee length dresses or skirts. I applied liner and lip gloss and went downstairs. Every one was on the dinning table. I sat with Chris.



Mr Hunt: Aaahhhh.... There you are. Software department has become lazy without you.



Cassie: Are you sure Mr Hunt?



Mr Hunt: Of course Cassie. I know you can do it.



Cassie: Thank you. I'll do my best not to disappoint you.



Mr Hunt: I know you won't.



I couldn't imagine what I would do without Hunts. They helped me a lot in my life. But I was nervous, as if Chris just read my mind. He spoke.



Chris: I'll drop you Candy. Come on.



Cassie: Okay thanks.



We got up, bid our goodbyes and went to Chris' car.



Chris: Nervous??



Cassie: Yes!



Chris: Don't be. Think of it like the first day of your job.

Cassie: I'll try my best Chris.


Chris: Good girl.



Chris dropped me at the door and drove off. As I stepped in all eyes turned towards me. I tried to ignore them but I just couldn't. Thank God, right on the time Iris came to welcome me.



Iris: Welcome back. I'm glad you made it.



Cassie: Yeah, thanks.



Iris: You okay?



Cassie: Yeah, I'm fine.



Iris: I'm believing you. Now come, I'm going to show you your work.



Cassie: Thanks Iris.



Iris took me to my office. They have changed the whole interior of my office. Yes, I have missed a lot in last 10 months. My phone pinged with a text message. I fished it out of my bag, it was Chris. Of course.



Chris: "Just hang in there Candy. You can do it."



I smiled, reading his text. I wanted to see him again, talk to him. I started to like every time he hugged me. It felt like nothing could happened to me whenever he hugs me. Iris texted me to inform that the meeting will be held in 15 minutes and I have to be there to catch up with everything that I have missed. I stepped in the meeting hall and sat on my chair, reading my files. Soon the meeting hall was full of all people, and meeting started. I thought it would take me a lot of time and effort to catch up with time that I have missed. But I was able to catch up with almost every thing. "I guess my brain is still working perfectly." I thought. The first half of the meeting was over, it was lunch break, everyone went their ways but I got back to my office to talk to Chris. I wanted to tell him everything. So I dialed him and after second ring, he picked up.



Cassie: " Hey."



Chris: "Hey. Some one is having a great time at work?"



Cassie: "Yeah, the day has been good so far, I'm able to catch up on almost every thing."



Chris:" Well that's a good start."



Cassie: "Yeah, I guess."



Chris: "What is it Cassie?"



Cassie: "It's just.... Where ever I go, every eye follow me like I'm walking naked or something."



Chris:" People do that, don't worry about that. People like that ain't deserve your attention. You just focus on your work. I'll pick you up in the evening, okay?"



Cassie: "Okay. Thanks Chris."



Chris: " Just stay strong. I'll see you in the evening."



Cassie: "Bye Chris."



Chris: "Bye candy."



Talking to Chris calmed me a bit, I was excited to get back to the meeting. The first half went smoothly, now it was the time for second half of the meeting. I had my lunch quickly in my office, as I was about to walk out of my office, Morgan, Alex, Olivier and Tom entered in my office. "Shit. Not them, they're the worst in Hunt's Tech's." I thought as I sucked on my breath.



Alex: I feel so sorry for you Cassandra.



Morgan: You know you could just give him what he wanted. It wouldn't have done this much damage.



Cassie: I don't wanna talk to you guys.



Tom: Really Cassandra. I thought you would have learned your lesson. But no, you're still the old egoistic and arrogant Cassandra Wolf.



Cassie: I have to go for the meeting.



Olivier: Meeting! Why is she in that meeting?



Alex: Don't you know. Because she's Mr Hunt's favorite girl. His whore.



Tom: What?



Alex: I'm talking about Christopher Hunt. And now she's got Hendrick Black after her too. So she's a jackpot for Hunts.



Cassie: SHUT UP....



Tom: Shouting on us ain't gonna change the reality. You're a gold digger.



Olivier: No, not gold digger, she's a whore for Christopher Hunt and Hendrick Black.



Alex: Don't forget about Sam Peterson, that poor man thought she loves him.



I pushed passed them. Iris was standing at office door, too shocked to do something. I looked at her for a second and then ran. I ran towards the lift. I pushed the button for parking. Lift stopped on the parking floor. Thank God, I got new car today by the company. I quickly unlocked my car, hopped in and drove off as fast as I could. "How could they even think like that about me. I've worked hard to earn my place. How cruel they are". I thought as I parked my car in the parking lot of my apartment. I was angry at Hendrick Black. I was angry at those kidnappers, I was angry at my fate. What have I ever done that my fate punished me like that. I unlocked the door of my apartment. Threw my stuff on the ground. I trashed everything I could get my hands on. Then I went to my closet and closed the door. I sat down on the floor, hugged my knees and sobbed for hours. Then suddenly, everything went dark.





IRIS'S POV:-



As I reached Cassie's office I saw the gossip squad of our company. I was shocked with what they have said to her. She looked at me for a moment with tears in her eyes then she ran towards the lift. I tried to follow her but the lift's door closed. I called the other lift and went straight to parking as I knew she got a car there. But until the I reached the parking floor she already drove off fast. I got scared. I quickly dialed Chris.



RING..... RING...... RING.......



Chris: "What is it Iris, make it quick, I have a lot of work."



Iris: "Chris! Something happened. It's Cassie."



Chris:" What about her?"



Iris: "Some jerks in here said a lot of cheap things to her, and she left."



Chris: "Left where? She doesn't even have a car!"



Iris:" She does Chris! Dad gave her new car today. It was parked in the parking floor."



Chris: "You have got to be kidding me."



Iris: "Chris, she drove very fast and I'm worried about her what if...."



Chris: "Nothing will happen to her. I'm just leaving, I think I know where she could go but still. You better call mother and ask her if she's there."



Iris: "Okay. If you say so."



Chris: " Confirm it and tell me okay."



Iris: "Okay."



Chris hung up and I dialed my mom.



RING..... RING.... RING ....... RING.......



Stella: "Yes honey."



Iris: "Mom. What took you so long to pick up my call."



Stella: "Slow down young lady. What is it?"



Iris: " Mom Is Cassie there?"



Stella: "No she is supposed to be with you at work."



Iris: "Shit. I'll call you back then mom."



Stella: "No tell me what happened?"



Iris: "Mom the world is so cruel, that's what happened. No one will ask a single question to Hendrick Black but Cassie is guilty for them because she didn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth."



Stella: "Oh my God, where she could go?"



Iris: "Mom relax. Chris is on his way. He knows where she could go. He just wanted to be sure she isn't at the Villa."



Stella: "No no. She's not here."



Iris: "I have to tell Chris mom. I'll tell you everything."



Stella: "Okay I'll be waiting."



Iris: "Okay Mom bye."



Stella: "Bye."



I hung up and dialed Chris back.



Chris: "Yes."



Iris: "She's not at the Villa."



Chris: " Okay then, she's at her apartment. I'm almost there. I'll tell you as soon as I'll find her okay."



Iris: "Okay bye."



Chris: "Bye."



CHRIS'S POV:-



As Iris informed me that Cassie isn't at the Villa. I was confirmed that she will be at her apartment. I parked my car and went straight to her floor. I rung the bell several times also banged the door hard enough that her neighbor came out.



Chris: Cassie I know you are here. Open the door.



I waited a bit but nothing.



Chris: Cassie open the door or I'll break it.



Still no answer. I tried to find her spare keys but it wasn't at the place. The neighbor offer me help to reach her balcony.



Neighbor: Instead of breaking the door, use my balcony to jump in her balcony.



Chris: Yes thank you so much.



Neighbor: Okay then follow me.



She took me to her room's balcony which was attached to Cassie's room balcony. It wasn't hard for me to jump in her balcony. I tried to bang the glass door but nothing. I called her many times, she wasn't replying back. Now I started to get worried, all negative thoughts made their way to my head. I decided to break the glass. It took a few hard bangs but it finally broke. I got in and saw the whole apartment was trashed. " What if Hendrick Black was here? What if he kidnapped her again? What if he followed her?" I thought. I tried to find her. She wasn't in her room. I looked in the bathroom, it was empty too. I stepped out of her room, I looked everywhere, her study, her kitchen, living room, guest room, I even looked in the store room. But she was nowhere. I was so worried by then. "Maybe I should call Scott". My phone rang. I picked up without looking at the caller ID.



Chris: "Yes!"



Iris: "Did you find her?"



Chris:" I'm inside of her apartment, I looked everywhere Iris."



Iris: "Did you find her Chris?"



Chris: "No Iris. If I would have found her, I wouldn't be panicking like that. Her place I like a trash. Her things are here but she's nowhere to be found."



Iris: "Oh my God Chris. What if Hendrick Black tried something again?"



Chris: "No! Oh my God please help me."



Cassie!!!! Where are you? Where the hell are you?
