CHAPTER 17
Liam: Do you love her?
Chris: Yes dad, i do. It took me long to realize but I love her and I can't live without her.
Liam: And what about Cassie?
Chris: She do too.
Liam: If you both feel the same way about each other, then I'm with you.
Chris: Thank you dad for understanding.
Liam: Don't thank me, I'm just doing what I have to. Now tell me, I will take care of your mother and she will be fine, but what about Mr Wolf?
Chris: Honestly dad, I don't know.
Liam: Take my advice, tell him as soon as you can.
Chris: Yeah, thanks Dad. I'll see what I have to do.
CASSIE'S POV:-
I did as Chris told me. I went to my bedroom, took a long shower, then changed into a loose shirt and tides. I laid on my bed waiting for Chris. He came in and sat on the edge of the bed, I also sat up, he looked so much tired. I went to him and hugged him from behind. He grabbed my hands and made me sit besides him. He intertwined his fingers with mine and I smiled. He then spoke in a tired voice.
Chris: Dad's with us, he will take care of mom. But until then, we have to keep a bit distance.
Cassie: I can understand Chris and I'm with you.
I said it and squeezed his hand a bit to assure him that he's not alone. He wrapped hi arm around me and I welcomed his warmth. My phone began to ring. I looked at it, it was my dad. I picked it up and asked him.
Cassie: "What's up Dad?"
David Wolf:" Are you up or did I wake you up?"
Cassie: "No no, I'm still up. Why?"
David: "I'm coming to pick you up. We're going to stay together tonight."
Cassie: "Wait, you're still here?"
David Wolf: "Yeah. I decided to stay for a night. Get ready, I'll be there in an hour. Okay?"
Cassie: "Okay, see you, love you."
David Wolf:" Bye."
Cassie:" Bye."
I cut the call and told Chris about my dad's plan. Chris kissed my forehead and left me to get ready. I quickly changed in jeans and t-shirt and waited for my dad to arrive.
After an hour, my dad came. I hopped in his car and we drive off. My dad took me to the hotel he was staying in. My dad played my favorite movie and we enjoyed it together. My dad and I were more attached to each other. I can be old but for my father, I was still a baby. We both laid on the bed a d enjoyed the movie. My mom really never cared about me, Katy was her favorite child. Katy was the rebellious one and I was the one who followed rules. My dad knew me very well, that's why I got the permission to get settled in New York.
We were enjoying the movie when all the things and reactions Stella gave us, came into my mind. (I love Chris but I also can't live without my dad. If Stella gave us that kind of reaction, what will my dad do? What if he said no? What if his reaction will be worse then Stella? What if this time he stood against me? What if he made me choose between him and Chris?) All these questions rose up in my mind and suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my head. My head was throbbing hard. I massaged my temples to ease up the pain but it didn't work at all. My dad noticed that and he asked me in a worried tone.
David Wolf: Are you okay honey?
Cassie: Yeah, it's just headache.
I replied. He quickly opened a drawer of his bed side table and gave me two tablets with a glass of water. I took them. He turned off the TV and laid besides me. I love to cuddle with my father. He held me close to him and kissed my forehead. A giggle escaped my lips when my dad sung a lullaby for me. My dad gave me a confused look and asked me.
David Wolf: What's so funny?
Cassie: Dad, I'm not a baby anymore.
My dad chuckled and spoke again.
David Wolf: You are my baby and you will be my baby. End of the story. Now close your eyes and go to sleep.
I closed my eyes and fell asleep in my father's arms.
I woke up early next morning, still in my dad's embrace. I looked at him and smiled. My dad actually sleep like a baby. I would not have moved if I wouldn't have to pee. I tried hard not to wake him up but my dad was a light sleeper. I moved a bit and he opened his eyes and asked me.
David Wolf: What's wrong baby?
Cassie: Dad, please let me go. I have to pee.
David Wolf: Oh so sorry baby.
Cassie: It's okay Dad.
I quickly ran to the bathroom and did my morning business. I took a shower and changed into my dad's jeans and t-shirt. It was a perfect fit for him but for me it was baggy. I came out and my dad started laughing hard. I glared at him and spoke.
Cassie: That's not funny dad.
David Wolf: I can't help baby.
Cassie: Dad what do you think about Chris?
David Wolf: He's a gentleman. Whoever he'll get married with, sure will be a lucky young lady.
Cassie: What if that lucky lady is me?
David Wolf: What do you mean?
I sighed and sat beside him. I grabbed his hands and spoke.
Cassie: Dad! Chris and I, we like each other. I don't care for this so called age difference between us. All I care about is that he love me, he makes me smile, he makes me laugh and he is the only one who can make my pains go away. I want to spend my life with him. I want to see how far we can go with each other. Yes I can't live without him, but I can't loose you too. I love him but I can't live without you too.
David Wolf: Christopher is a really nice man. If that's what you want, then I'm with you. As long as you're happy, I don't care. I don't believe in these stupidities, like if they have age difference they won't work. That's all rubbish. A relationship works on three things, love, respect and trust. If you have all three then you are a perfect couple. Age difference really doesn't matter. If that's what makes you happy then I'm happy too.
He wiped my eyes and hugged me. Whenever I needed him, he was always there. He supported me in every single decision I took in my life and he trust me. He kissed the top of my head and spoke.
David Wolf: So, are you happy?
Cassie: Yes dad, I'm really happy.
He pecked my forehead and went to take shower. He had a flight in 3 hours and we woke up late. I packed his bags and my dad came out all ready to go. He picked up his bags and we exited the room. We went down and my dad checked out. We went to the nearest cafe for the breakfast. After the breakfast he drove me back to Hunt's Villa. On our way back, he asked me about out future plans and I told him the truth, we hadn't decided anything. We reached to the Villa, I was about to get out of the car when my dad stopped me and said.
David Wolf: You are my daughter and I love you. Don't give up, Christopher is a really nice man. You'll be happy with him and as for me. I'm with you till the day I'll die.
Cassie: Dad please don't say that.
David Wolf: I love you, don't give up.
Cassie: I love you too and I won't, I promise.
He pecked my forehead and I got out of the car. I waved him and he drove off. I was happy that my dad was with me. I went inside the Villa only to be welcomed by another episode of yelling Stella.
Stella: What about her father? Do you have any idea what he will think of us when he'll know that…
I stepped in and didn't let her complete her sentence. I cut her in the middle and spoke.
Cassie: I told him everything and he is with us.
