CHAPTER 15

After talking with Mallory and Ian, I went to different shops to buy flowers, sandwiches, cupcakes, cookies and lanterns. I wanted to make our first date magical for her. I wanted her to feel it, I wouldn't use my words, but my actions would tell her how much I love her. After all the arrangements, I went back to my home, took a quick shower, changed in casual jeans and t shirt then I just waited for her to be back home.



CASSIE'S POV:-




Me and my dad spent the whole day together. We went shopping, then we watched his favorite action movie, then we had lunch. It was evening, we are in a cafe, enjoying coffee and cookies. I almost forgot everything that had happened this morning. I was still sad but my father brought smile at my face. I was still quite but not like in the morning.

My dad tapped on the table and I looked at him with a smile.



David Wolf: Are you okay?



Cassie: Yeah! I'm perfect.



David Wolf: Did you have fun today?



Cassie: Of course I did. You're always fun to be around.



David Wolf: Buttering your own father eh?



Cassie: I'm not buttering you, I will rather use chocolate.



David Wolf: So how is your work?



Cassie: It's good.



David Wolf: You know Iris told me what happened 2 weeks ago.



Cassie: God! She's becoming your agent.



David Wolf: Cassie! No more keeping things from each other, you promised me.



Cassie: I know dad.



David Wolf: Then tell me, why did you convinced Mr Hunt to call them back?



Cassie: Dad, I'm Cassandra Wolf, daughter of David Wolf. Whatever had happened in the past, is and will be in the past. I'm not scared of people's questioning eyes and pity talks anymore. I'm your daughter, and I will stand up again with my dignity and pride.



David Wolf: Oh yeah! Then let's talk about the case.



Cassie: Dad please! I told you we are never going to discuss this. Not now, not ever.



David Wolf: What if things that happened to you, will happen to someone else, what will you do? Because that time, you'll be responsible too.



Cassie: Dad please! I don't want to see his face ever in my life again. Let me live my life peacefully. It's hard not to remember the time I've spent in that hell with the devil. The scars he has given me, it will be with me till death. It's never gonna heal and will pain me forever. It's hard to learn to live with a scar like that. I can bear this scar but I don't want to see his face ever again. I don't even want to hear his voice or his name again in my life.



David Wolf: Okay okay! We'll do as you wish. Don't get upset. Finish your coffee.



Cassie: Thanks dad.



We finished our coffees, my dad paid and we left the cafe. My dad drove me back to Hunt's Villa. My dad hugged me and pecked my forehead. He handed me all the stuff I bought, Then drove off. I stared at his car for a while then I turned, only to bump into Chris.



Cassie: Sorry, I didn't see…..



I wasn't able to complete my sentence because Chris' lips were on mine. He kissed me. I dropped everything on the ground and held his shoulders for support. His tongue slid into my mouth. His mouth tasted like chocolate and mint. He had kissed me before but those were more like pecks on my lips, but nothing like this. He was exploring my mouth and I could feel his emotions and love. I closed my eyes and intertwined my fingers in his soft sandy hair. World around me vanished and I kissed him back. He broke the kiss, my eyes were still closed.



Chris: Look at me Cassie.



He ordered me and I obliged. I opened my eyes and looked straight in his eyes. He cupped my face and said.



Chris: I love you. It's neither a crime, nor a sin. I love you and I'm not afraid of anyone. You're mine, and I will fight for what's mine.



My eyes welled up with his confession. He wrapped his arms around me and I welcomed his warmth. I put my head on his chest, I could hear the sweet melody of his heart. (I missed this all day, I've missed him, his warmth all day.) I thought. All day I was so worried that I've said something that will end everything between us but here we are, together again.



Chris: Are you free now?



Cassie: Yes, why?



Chris: Go and get ready. I'm waiting for you here.



Cassie: Where are we going?



Chris: You'll see.



I quickly picked up all the shopping bags and went to my room. I took a quick shower and changed into white knee length dress my dad bought for me. I applied eyeliner and lip gloss. I was wearing my shoes when Iris hugged me from behind.



Iris: I'm so happy for you. Finally he made his decision. He finally spoke for both of you.



Cassie: Took him long enough, but it all worth the wait.



Iris: Hurry up or he will change his mind.



Cassie: How do I look?



Iris: Beautiful for me and sexy for him.



Cassie: I shouldn't have asked you.



We both hugged each other and I went downstairs. Chris looked at me and gulped. I giggled on his reaction.



Chris: Let's go.



We made our way to his car. He opened the door like a gentleman, I stepped into the car. Then he got into the car and drove off. I tried to ask him many times but he didn't give me a single clue about the so called surprise he had planned for me. After about two hours of driving, he finally parked the car in the woods. I gave him an annoyed look and he chuckled.



Chris: Just follow me, you're gonna love it.



He held my hand and we started walking. We walked for about 5 minutes or so when I saw something was glowing in the dark woods. In a minute we finally reached the spot. It was breathtaking. He decorated the whole place with flowers and lanterns. There was a rug on the ground with a bucket. He planned a picnic.



Chris: Do you like it.



Cassie: I love it. How and when did you plan all this?



Chris: Don't underestimate me Cassie.



We sat on the ground, he opened the bucket. It was full of cookies, cupcakes and sandwiches. We ate and chatted.



Cassie: You really put an effort to this.



Chris: Yeah! I've baked these cookies for you.



Cassie: Wait, really! You baked these for me?



Chris: No, I was joking. I bought them from your favorite cafe.



Chris: I hate you.



Chris: oh yeah.



He said as he pulled me to him. I was so close to him that I could count his lashes. My heart was drumming in my chest and my breaths were heavy too.



Chris: Now say that again what you've said before.



Cassie: You're so mean. Now back off, I want to enjoy my picnic.



Chris: That's not a picnic Cassie, it's a date.



Cassie: Wait what? A date???



Chris: Do you have any doubts?



Cassie: I just want to hear you say that.



He cupped my neck by both of his hands, his thumbs were caressing my cheeks. He looked in my eyes and said.



Chris: We both care about each other. I like you, you like me as well. Then why not. I'm willing to give this relationship a chance, to see how far we can go. And believe me Cassie, we will have a perfect life together. I don't give a damn to this world. All I care about is the smile that appears on your face every time when I wrap my arms around you. I know it's gonna be hard, but we will cross that bridge, we will cross it together. I am with you, you're not alone in this.



He pecked my forehead and I closed my eyes to feel his lips on my forehead. I wasn't sure about how my dad will react when he'll know that Chris and I are together. I didn't want to hurt him, but I didn't want to lose Chris as well. But I knew I wasn't alone. He was with me and that's all that matters to me.



Chris: Are you ready to face the world for us?



Cassie: I can fight the whole world as long as you are with me and I have your love and support.



Chris: Then I'm with you No Matter What.



Cassie: No Matter What.
