CHAPTER 27
CASSIE'S POV:-
We all were at our home. Mr Hunt and Stella decided to get our wedding done properly. She said it's her only son and she had so many wishes. I could only adore the moment. I knew how much Mr Hunt and Stella loved both of their children. Chris tried to decline the idea as he was told to stay away from me until the wedding would be done. But he bit his tongue as he earned a sharp glare from her mother. Iris and I giggled seeing him nervously rubbing the back of his neck when Stella glared at him.
Our honeymoon flights were fixed. Scott and Iris were going to Paris while I was still unaware of the destination Chris had decided. He was not telling me anything because he knew I would tell Iris. That was why I was also in the dark.
My dad took a few days off from his work and came to live with me until I would get married with Chris again. He was very happy when I told him the reason behind our emergency wedding. He was more than happy to hear that I kept my promise and did not leave Chris alone when he needed me most. Chris was getting better, in fact, he was perfectly fine.
I asked about my mom and Katy who had not come along with my father. He did not give me any reason. I asked him again and again and at last he declined the question. He said he was enough for me to get married. Of course, he was everything to me. But I wanted my mom and my sister by my side as well. So I decided to call my mom. But only to regret my decision later.
I called my mom and asked her why she did not come. And she told me that I had already gotten married with Chris then why should she come to see the show only. I tried to reason her but instead of hearing me out, she hung up and actually blocked my number. That angered me and I went out.
But as always, Chris came from behind and took me to a place where we talked to each other. I told him everything while sobbing. As usual, he cooed me like a baby and said something that made me forget everything. He said that if my mom was not by my side the time when I needed her most, why am I expecting her to be by my side on my wedding day. He was right. I had not seen my own mother by my side during my dark period but Stella. She was always there to make me feel better. To make me feel safe. To be honest, Stella was more mother to me ever since I had met her. And when she accepted me as Chris' soulmate, she was even more caring and loving. Stella was the mother figure for me for almost nine years.
To make me feel even better, Chris took me to his parent's mansion. Seeing everyone around me, made me feel better. And I forgot everything that my mom had said to me. I decided to leave her to be. I did not want to beg her to be with me at my wedding. I have people who cared for me without asking.
I stayed at Hunt's Villa. They did not leave me alone. Next day in the morning, Chris took me back to my house. I had already sold my apartment as I did not need that anymore. I knew Chris and I would be together forever. And I did not need anything else in my life except for Chris by my side.
I unlocked the door as my father was sleeping peacefully in his room. Taking advantage of being alone in the house, Chris locked the door and scooped me up from the ground. I wrapped my legs around his waist and held his shoulders to balance myself. He took me to the kitchen and made me sit on the kitchen counter. We both kissed each other sensually. Forgetting all the boundaries. I had missed him so much. I had missed his warmth and his kisses. I wanted to taste his mouth again. So taking the charge, I slipped my tongue into his mouth and explored his mouth. I moaned inside his mouth as his tongue caressed my tongue in a sensual way.
We came back to earth when he heard the doorbell. We pulled away immediately and Chris groaned lowly in frustration. I giggled and got myself together. I knew I needed to open the door. I straightened my clothes and my hair with my hands and hopped off of the kitchen counter. I went to the door and opened it. I saw a woman standing in front of me. She looked tired and very worried about something. Seeing my face, she smiled and I smiled back at her. She looked almost the same age as mine, I gave her a confused look.
Cassie: Can I help you?
I asked her with a smile.
Strange woman: Yes, agent Wolf. I would like to meet agent Wolf.
She replied and I frowned my brows in confusion. I was sure my father said he took a few days off for my wedding.
Cassie: I am sorry but he is here to attend my wedding. He did not tell me he was expecting someone.
I replied and she shook her head.
Strange woman: I am sorry for being here at this time. But I just can't wait. I need to meet him. It's an emergency and I need his help.
She replied to which I smiled and invited her in. I took her to the drawing room.
Cassie: Please sit down. I will send dad in a minute.
I said and she nodded her head with a smile on her tired face.
Strange woman: Thank you.
She thanked me and I just smiled. I went to the kitchen and pulled out a bottle of water from the fridge. I filled a glass then took it to the drawing room. I offered her water. She downed it's content in one go. I took the glass and stepped out of the drawing room. I went to my father's room and sat on the edge of the bed. I rubbed his shoulder with my hands and he slowly opened his eyes. He smiled seeing my face and pulled me close to him. I giggled and hugged him.
Cassie: Dad, there is a woman waiting for you in the drawing room. She said it's an emergency. That's why I had to come and ask you.
I whispered in his ear and he broke the hug. He looked at me with a frown. Then he nodded his head and sat up on the bed.
David Wolf: She must be the one Alaiza has sent here, Mrs Rutherford. She is looking for her husband. The case is complicated. Nobody knows what had happened to her husband.
He said and I nodded my head.
Cassie: So, are you planning to help her?
I asked.
David Wolf: I don't know anything right now, sunshine. I first need to look into this. Only then I will decide if I can help her or not.
He replied and stood up. He went to the bathroom and I went back to the kitchen where Chris was waiting for me.
Chris: Who has guts to disturb us in our alone time?
He asked in an annoyed tone and I giggled. I went to him and wrapped my arms around his waist. He also wrapped his arms around me and held me tightly to his chest.
Cassie: A woman came looking for my father. Dad said she is looking for her missing husband. I hope she will find him soon.
I replied as I felt the exact same sadness I had seen in her eyes.
Chris: I know your father will help her find her husband very soon.
He replied and rubbed my back to make me feel better. I felt myself getting calmed between his arms. Hearing his calmly beating heart, I finally felt better. He kissed the top of my head but did not break the hug. He knew what I wanted.
