CHAPTER 30

CASSIE'S POV:-


I woke up the next morning. After the first time, Chris decided to spend our whole day at the rent house. We stayed together. I cooked lunch and dinner for us. Chris helped me. We played games, then we danced together. Then after dinner, Chris and I bathed together. I could not help but smile whenever I thought about our future. I could not help but think about the good news we would soon have.


I looked at Chris. He was sleeping peacefully with me. He was lying on his stomach and one of his arms was on my stomach. I snuggled closer to him and pecked his cheek. He smiled but did not open his eyes. I shook him a bit. He frowned but did not wake up. I rolled my eyes and crawled out of the bed.


I stepped into the bathroom and did my morning business. I then turned on the shower and hopped into the soothing hot water. I took my time and washed my body and my hair. Once done, I wrapped a towel around my body and stepped out of the bathroom. I looked at Chris who was still into his dreamland. He was snoring and that made me giggle. I shot his video while he was snoring.


I then went to the closet and wore my casual jeans and t-shirt. I stepped out of the closet. For the last time I tried to wake him up. When he did not wake up, I sighed and exited the bedroom.


I stepped into the kitchen and looked around. I decided to prepare french toast for Chris. I knew how much he loved vanilla french toast for breakfast. I gathered all the ingredients but the milk had expired. I sighed and went back to the bedroom. I wore my coat and grabbed the car keys. I pecked his cheek and stepped out of the bedroom. I knew I needed to shop if I wanted to surprise him with his favorite breakfast.


I went towards the garage and unlocked it. But before I could have opened the car door, someone covered my mouth and my nose with a handkerchief. I tried to scream but all my screams died inside my mouth. That hideous smell, I smelled it again. I knew my world was tearing apart and I was again helpless. Soon the darkness engulfed me and I lost consciousness.





CHRIS' POV:-


I woke up abruptly when I heard someone banging the door of the rent house, crazily. I crawled out of the bed and wore my bathrobe.


Chris: Cassie, where are you?


I asked when I did not see my angel around. Whoever was on the door, they were not stopping at all. They were constantly banging the door like they would break it and jump into the rent house. I ran towards the door and opened it. The owner of the house was there with a few people. I controlled my anger then asked him in a calmed tone.


Chris: What is the matter, Mr Grill? Why are you banging the door like you would break it?


Hearing my questions, they exchanged looks then looked back at me. I frowned because I could see something was wrong.


Mr Grill: Mr, your wife. She is abducted. I just saw a man dragging her to his car then he hopped in and drove away.


Mr Grill, the owner of our rental house said and my eyes almost popped out of my sockets.


Chris: What are you talking about? My wife is at home.


I said and went back into the house. I looked everywhere but they were right. Cassie was not at home. She was nowhere to be found.


Chris: When did that happen?


I asked Mr Grill and he sat beside me.


Mr Grill: I was inside my garden for my workout. A few minutes ago I saw that. I tried to stop him but it was no use. So, I came here to tell you. Since then I have been banging your door. But you did not open the door.


Mr Grill replied and I nodded my head.


Mr Grill: We must call the cops. It will help you to find your wife. Let me call the cops, Mr Hunt.


Mr Grill said and pulled his phone out of his pocket. He called the cops and informed them with the situation. I ran towards the bedroom and grabbed my phone from the nightstand. I quickly unlocked my phone and dialled Mr Wolf's number. It took him a few seconds, he picked up after the fourth bell.


Mr Wolf: Kids nowadays, they will not even let their parents live for a few days. What is wrong?


Agent Wolf asked me and I wiped a tear that had escaped from my eye.


Chris: It's Cassie, agent Wolf. Someone abducted her. I do not know who took her and how did that happen?


I replied in a guilty tone.


Agent Wolf: What? Where were you when all that happened to my daughter? Let me tell you one thing, Chris. If anything happens to my daughter, I will blow up your head.


Agent Wolf threatened me. But I did not reply to him. It was my fault. I should have woken up when she was trying to wake me up. But my rest time was more important for me than my beloved wife. I did not think that all would happen or I would have woken up.


Chris: She did not even tell me where she was going. She just grabbed her bag and left without telling me. I just don't know what to do.


I replied in a panicked tone. I was alone in that country. I did not know anyone there. I was in panic mode because I did not know anyone there.



Agent Wolf: Let me see what I can do. I have someone in Perth who can help you. I will try to reach them. Till then, you should just wait there. I will get back to you as soon as I can. And I will try to be by your side. I can not promise that because we don't know if I will get any flights.


Agent Wolf replied. I sighed and sat on the couch near me.


Chris: I will be waiting for your response.


I said and hung up. I knew I could not do much. So I did as agent Wolf had told me to do.
