Chapter 10

**Sawyer**

Elise's mind must have drifted to a dark place because the cute wide-eyed look she had a moment ago turned sad. That's not how this morning is going to go tough, so before she gets too lost in whatever darkness going on in that pretty head of her's I grab her hand and tug her off the bed. She laughs and scrambles to keep up with me.

"What's going on?" She asks sounding amused and confused all at once.

"We gotta get some food in you sweetheart. you haven't lived until you've tried Archer's egg benedict." I don't stop moving until we are out of the room and jogging down the stairs.

Of course, I'm a total dick and forget that she has a concussion, so I slow and give her an apologetic look. She smiles at me and I hate that it gives me these warm feelings inside my chest. Isn't that the most clique thing to say, but how else can I describe it. She's beautiful and sweet and everything I should avoid.

When we reach the last step I can hear the usual voices in the dining room and Elise stops short just before they come into view. I turn to her and see her looking like a scared dear in the headlights.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" I ask turning fully to face her.

She shuffles on her feet like she's about ready to turn and run but I grip her hand a little tighter. No way is she running away from us.

"I'm nervous. is that weird? I already met all of them yesterday, but...this seems different." She whispers and I chuckle.

I pull her forward before she can object and three heads turn in our direction from the large dining table. Each of my brother's faces light up, in their way, when they see me leading Elise in. That is until she looks at each of them and they notice what's changed.

"Elise? You can see us?" Ezra asks pushing his chair back and moving around the table to meet us.

She doesn't say anything at first and when I look over at her she is looking at Ezra like she's never seen a man before. I admit I'm annoyed because she looked at me the same way, but I push that feeling aside quickly. No good getting jealous when we all plan to share this girl.

Ezra moves closer to her and lifts his hand out to touch her but hesitates only inches away from her. Archer and Weston have joined us now and Elise turns her head to take them all in for the first time. I see her swallow and her chest rises and falls faster than it had a moment ago.

"Morning." She squeaks out and I bark out a laugh while Archer smiles widely at her.

Ezra just watches her and Weston smirks slightly. That guy barely does anything else, but maybe she'll find a way to get the big guy to loosen up a little.

"Morning love. I can't believe you can see us. You're healed already? That's incredible." Ezra says and I notice his accent slip out a bit.

Ezra moved here from Ireland when he was young and he tried very hard to get rid of that accent but when he's comfortable enough it slips out a lot.

He sounds badass when he gets red in the face and the vein in his neck sticks out and then the accent....it's scary as fuck.

"Yeah. It's c-crazy." Elise says and a light pink color works its way from the tips of her ears and over her cheeks.

Seriously, this girl is cute. Nothing like the kind of woman I would normally go for but I don't think I could look at another girl now. This girl has me wrapped around her finger and she didn't even have to try. Fuck. I'm a goner for sure. I can't tease Archer now because I'm just as bad.

"I'm relieved," Archer says letting out a deep breath. "I was worried all night."

Elise smiles sweetly at him and he blushes just as bad as she had a moment ago.

"You need to eat," Weston says in his messed-up voice that gets Elise's attention as soon as she hears it.

She nods and he holds a hand out to her. She takes it and lets him lead her toward the table. He pulls the chair next to his out and she sits obediently. Weston watches her for a second longer before clearing his throat and sitting down beside her. I smirk to myself because she just got Weston all hot by being such a good girl. She has no clue what he'll be like when they're alone together.

We may not have ever shared a girl, but we're all familiar with what we all like. Weston is all into that dom-sub stuff. I'm curious to see how Elise takes to all that. I mean I don't bother with all that stuff but whatever wets his dick I guess.

Ezra and I take our seats at opposite ends of the table and Archer disappears through the swinging door to the kitchen. Weston is as stiff as a board next to Elise but keeps throwing her small glances like he isn't sure what to do. She is too busy looking around the large open space around us to notice.

Ezra also has his eyes fixed on our girl, and I slump back in my chair to take it all in. How does one little girl pull all the attention in the room to her without trying? It's like she's a magnetic force pulling us all in around her and she's oblivious. She has no idea the powerful men she's just pulled in around her.

"Okay, Weston decided to do something a little different today and sleep in, so we are going to have to settle for waffles today," Archer says walking back in with a large platter of waffles and a small bowl in his other hand.

He sets the two things down and I shake my head when I see freshly cut strawberries in the small bowl. Elise's eyes blow wide at the huge pile of food sitting in front of her, and I feel an ache in my chest because this is probably the first real thing she's eaten in a long time.

Weston doesn't wait for us to move before he takes her plate and drops two waffles on it. He sets the plate down in front of her and Ezra slides the bowl closer to her. She gives him a shy smile before she lifts the spoon and drops a few strawberries on top of her waffles. She picks one up and looks at it for a second before popping it into her mouth.

She lets out an excited moan of appreciation and the three of us laugh. Weston chuckles slightly, but it's something. Her face turns nearly red and she ducks her head trying to make herself as small as possible. Weston reaches over and tips her head up to look at him and she blinks up at him with glossy eyes.

"Never lower your eyes to anyone. You do not have to worry that we will look down or judge you." He says giving her an intense look that would make mortal men piss themselves, but not Elise.

She looks right back at him and it's like they're waiting to see who will break first, but it's Archer's sudden reappearance that finally breaks their spell.

"Alright. Would you like some whipped cream on those waffles?" Archer asks moving to stand next to Elsie.

"Yes please." She says holding her plate up.

He drops a generous spoonful onto her waffles and as she is turning to place her plate back down he drops a kiss on her cheek. She jumps a little from how sudden it was but smiles brightly at him after he sends her a wink and walks away. I roll my eyes at how sickly sweet all this domestic shit is and tear into my own breakfast. The room goes silent except for the sound of clanking utensils and I pull out my phone to check for any work messages.

We closed a four-month operation last night, so it should be pretty light for a while but owning your own business means the work never stops.

I see an email from the police chief asking for us to send in our reports as soon as possible and I have to stop myself from sending the incompetent asshole a colorful reply. We only put up with him because going behind the police department's back and handling these cases alone can cause issues and we don't want to lose our most consistent source of income.

Besides we get paid a heft sum from the state for helping several departments and messing up on contact could quickly have a domino effect. You know, brothers in blue sticking together and all that shit.

"Liddy says she'll be in the clinic by nine and was able to get a friend of her's to come by there and give Elise a good look," Ezra says suddenly and I lift my head to look at him.

"That isn't necessary. I feel fine, really." Elise says but Ezra shakes his head.

"We need to be sure love. I don't want to take any chances that you might get worse because we didn't get you properly looked at." He says giving her a no-nonsense look that tells her not to argue.

She sighs and nods her head in agreement.

"Good. Now finish up, we have a stop to make before we head there." He says picking up his fork and eating his last bite of food.

He stands from his seat and grabs his plate. Elise watches him as he walks out of the room and when her eyes drop down to her plate again I catch that ever-occurring pink tint to her ears.

"What does he mean?" Archer asks looking at me.

I smile wide at him. "We're taking our girl shopping."

He looks over at her and frowns. "But she looks nice."

I roll my eyes at him and shove another bite of waffles into my mouth.

"You only think that because she's wearing your clothes. But she needs clothes of her own." Weston points out before I can swallow.

I point at him in agreement and Archer sneers at me before taking a rather violent bite of his food.

"I love the clothes you gave me Archer. They're very comfortable." Elsie says sweetly and bats her lashes at him making his angry expression melt.

He smiles weakly at her and gives her a look that reminds me of that heart eye emoji and I try hard not to gag.
