Chapter 61

**Milo**

I feel like I have learned nothing sitting here talking to the Haven lady. The research I have done isn't nearly enough, and I feel terrible that we have not been doing right by Luna so far.

"Omegas need the comfort of the pack or at least one of you at all times." She explains.

"We each gave her a blanket with our scents on it as I read about." I offer.

"That is good, but it won't be enough. She needs to feel you and having you close will make her feel safe. Omegas like to surround themselves with blankets and pillows because they liked to feel bundled and protected. Having at least one of you with her will make her feel calmer and more relaxed. I recommend that at least one of you if not more stay with her every night. Space is fine for short periods, but she needs the security of having at least one of you near her." She says firmly.

"What about when we're performing?" I ask.

"Then your Beta should stay close to her. He will keep her grounded until the rest of you can be with her." She replies and I stash that information away.

Never leave Luna alone. Got it.

"I understand that Luna is deaf is that right?" She asks looking over some papers in her lap.

"Yes." Rowan answers.

"Have you taken the needed steps to ensure her safety in that way?" She asks and I nod.

"We have. We tried our best to add things to her nest in the trailer as well but that is a little more difficult since it isn't a real home. Things like a doorbell with a light was something I couldn't seem to get a hold of." I explain.

"I see. Okay well, that is something important I would recommend. Some companies can custom make things like that. I'll do some research while you are here and provide you with the information to get any other things she will need. Do you have any questions?" She asks glancing at each of us.

We shake our heads and she starts to shuffle through the bag sitting next to her chair.

"Here is some more information I would like you to look over and put into practice as soon as you return home. My card is also in here, so you can contact me at any time with any questions. This whole situation will work best when you have as much knowledge as possible. Bringing an Omega into a pack is serious, and you will experience the many benefits if you take good care of Luna. Okay, I'll leave you guys to it." She stands and we each thank her before she leaves.

"Well, now I feel like a total dick. We left her alone last night. She must have felt awful." Kai says a hint of guilt in his words.

"We know now, and we will be sure that we don't leave her alone like that again. Bennett, it looks like you are going to play a big role in taking care of her during the tour, you ready for that?" Rowan asks.

Bennett beams at those words. "Of course. I can't wait. I'll even be able to leave my mark on her! I can't believe it."

Rowan drops a hand on his shoulder and squeezes it. "That's great man."

We all pull our chairs around so that we can watch Luna. As time goes on most of us end up on our phones. Kai took the spot by Luna's hand and fell asleep holding it about an hour ago. I decided to look up some companies on my own that provide custom equipment that can help Luna. I find one site that has a lot of good reviews and I quickly send them an email laying out what we would need.

"Milo!" Kai's voice pulls my attention from my phone and I see Luna's eyes flutter open. "She's awake."

I quickly stand and stand on the other side of the bed to be sure she sees me. Her eyes are moving around the room with a furrowed brow. I lean over to get her attention and her scared eye meet mine.

"*It's okay. We are in the hospital. You hit your head.*" I sign to her.

Her eyes start to well up with tears and my heart aches at seeing her so scared.

Kai reaches over and wipes the tears that have already fallen and I watch Luna lean into his touch. The lady from Haven was right, she needs that feeling of us touching her.

"Can you ask her how she's feeling?" Rowan asks.

I reach out and brush my hand across her chin and pull lightly to get her to look at me again.

*"How are you feeling?*" I sign to her.

She slowly lifts her hands, but she seems weak still.

"*Sore and tired.*" She signs back and I try to reassure her by reaching for her hand and squeezing it. "*When can I go home?*"

"*They want you to stay the night, so we can leave tomorrow*." I sign back and she nods.

"She says she feels sore and tired," I tell the guys.

"Let me see if we can get her something to eat," Declan says turning toward the door.

He stops before he reaches it and walks back over to Luna's bed. Kai steps aside and we watch Declan lean down and leave a kiss on Luna's forehead. It's such a soft gesture that seems odd for Declan but I can see as soon as he moves away from that Luna is tearing up again. Had we been that bad at showing her the affection she needs? I know it's because we didn't know but it kills me to think how she must have felt about us keeping a polite distance from her. Well, except for Kai, he has been the only one to give her as many touches as possible.

Rowan seems to have done more as well, but only when they are alone. A tug on my hand has me focusing my attention on Luna again.

"*What happened to the men?*" She signs.

"*They got away. I'm sorry.*" I sign back.

She squeezes her eyes shut and lets out a shaky breath.

When she opens her eyes again I sign, "*We won't take you there gain. Someone said we can take you to an Omega-only store. Would you like that? We can get more stuff for your nest*."

This shifts her expression from sad to happy in an instant.

"*Yes! I would like that*." She signs back excitedly and I laugh.

"*Good. We'll go as soon as you feel better*." I sign to her and she smiles brightly at me.

I think she just melted some of the ice from my cold dead heart with that smile.

"She seems to be feeling a little better already," Rowan says smiling down at her.

"She's excited to go to the Omega store," I tell him.

I turn back to her and sign, "*Would you like to see the things we bought you at the phone store?*"

She nods her head happily but winces and reaches up to feel along the back of her head.

"Can one of you bring in the stuff we got for her? We can get it all set up so she'll have something to keep her busy until we go home tomorrow." I ask and Bennett jumps up.

He almost runs out the door making Rowan and Kai laugh.

I take a seat next to Luna and pick up her hand. If we need to start showing her more affection then I won't hold back. As much as I usually hate touching anyone, this is easy for me. Touching luna's soft skin is no trouble at all, and from now on I will take full advantage of even small touches like this. Rowan takes the chair that Kai had been sitting in and takes Luna's other hand.

Kai starts searching for something until she pulls a remote with a cord from the side of the bed. He turns on the TV and starts to scroll through the surprisingly large choices of channels. Luna tugs on my hand and I turn to see her signing that she sees a movie she wants to watch.

"She asked if you can put on that movie you just scrolled by," I tell Kai and he goes back and selects the channel.

It looks like a romantic comedy of some kind.

"Put the subtitles on," I tell him and he messes with a few buttons and soon words pop up on the screen.

We are only a few minutes into the movie when both Declan and Bennett come back to the room. I can't help but laugh at the mountain of food Declan sets down on the table next to Luna's bed. She looks wide-eyed at it but offers Declan a smile when he turns to look at her.

"*What would you like?*" I sign to her.

She looks over the offerings and points to a chocolate candy bar. Declan grabs two and starts to unwrap them. He brings it over and she reaches for them but he pulls them back. Instead, he holds them close enough for her to take a bite. Her face blooms pink but she leans forward and takes a bite anyway. I glance up at him with a raised brow and he shrugs.

Well, okay then.
