Chapter 69
**Milo **
I am heading toward my room to change when I catch Luna's scent. Only there is something different about it now. Not only is it thicker than it was earlier but there is a hint of something citrusy as well. I head in the direction of her nest and the scent grows stronger and it clicks as soon as I hear her desperate whimpers.
Her heat.
I read about how Omegas who leave Haven stop taking suppressants so that they can spend their first-ever heat with their pack. It says that how long it takes for the medication to wear off is different in every case, but it seems like for luna it has happened very quickly. It could be that being with Declan and him leaving a temporary mark was what pushed the last of the medication out of her system. Her body is yearning for something more permanent now.
I head back downstairs and thankfully find the rest of the guys in the game room.
"Hey! Is Luna ready to go?" Kai asks when he sees me come in.
"We won't be going anywhere," I say and the other guys turn to me as well.
"Why? What's wrong?" Bennett asks getting to his feet.
"I'm pretty sure luna has just gone into heat," I say and I'm met with wide eyes.
"Are you sure?" Declan asks me.
I nod. "I heard her in the nest. I think Rowan is in there with her, and..."
I trial off when I see the realization in their expressions. Kai opened his mouth like he was going to make a comment but the sound of the doorbell pulled my attention away. I turned on my heels and made my way to the door. A glance through the peephole revealed one of the assistants from the label, Annie.
"Annie," I say dimly when I open the door.
She smiles brightly at me like she always does and I keep my face perfectly stoic like always. The girl was perky and cheerful which I always find exhausting.
"Hi, Milo! How are you?" She asks sweetly.
"Fine. What are you doing here?" I ask crossing my arms over my chest.
I feel a hand drop down on my shoulder and glance over to see Kai standing right behind me. He flashes her a smile and I watch her blush.
"Annie! What are you doing here?" He asks her and she tucks her hair behind her ears shyly.
"Tom wanted me to bring some papers over to you." She says griping the folder in her hands closer to her chest.
"Why couldn't he email us?" I ask pointedly.
She stutters out an excuse but I just roll my eyes and turn to leave this to Kai. He's better at dealing with people than me and I just hated dealing with the girl. She wasn't shy about her interest in us, and I found it annoying to deal with. Kai on the other hand knew how to interact with people like that without giving them the wrong idea.
"I feel like I haven't seen you guys in so long. It's strange." I hear Annie's voice echo behind me from where I'm standing in the kitchen now.
"We took a couple of days off to get used to having Luna here with us," Kai says and I smirk at the fall in Annie's smile.
"Oh yeah, I heard you have an Omega now. T-that's great." She clears her throat and takes a seat at the island.
Declan and Bennett come into the room soon after and Annie's face brightens up again.
"Hi, Bennett! Hi D!" She says happily.
"Hey, Annie. How are you?" Bennett asks politely.
Declan just grunts and takes up a spot next to me with his arms crossed.
"Not much! I can't wait for the tour. I've started packing already. I can't believe we leave next week." She says and that gets all of our attention.
"Next week?" Bennett asks.
"Yeah!" She glances at each of us with a furrowed brow. "Did they not tell you?"
"No. What happened?" Bennett asks taking out his phone.
"One of the first locations had a scheduling conflict and asked if we can move forward some dates. Tom agreed...he didn't tell you?" She asks.
Bennett brushes past us all and heads out of the room with his phone to his ear.
"Sorry I thought you guys knew." She says sheepishly.
"It's fine. We were just hoping to have more time to get acclimated as a pack before we had to drag Luna with us on tour." Kai says with a sigh.
I can't help but be a little amused that Kai keeps bringing up Luna. Of course, I'm sure it's because he's already completely in love with her and not to remind this little Beta that we are taken now. Maybe she has always hoped that we would be wanting to bring another Beta into our pack but we never would. Pack sizes ranged from four to up to ten or more people so it's not unusual for formed packs to add members.
"How are things going with the Omega? We all only got a quick glimpse of her when you brought her to the office." There is a slight sneer in her expression but it only lasts a second.
Kai lights up though and is quick to answer her. "It's been great! She's amazing!"
Annie lets out a weak laugh. "You sound like a love-sick puppy Kai." She teases awkwardly.
"He is." Declan chimes in and Annie's attention shift to him next.
"Are you not happy to have her here?" She asks him and I glance over at him.
He had put a mark on her, of course, he was happy but I was interested in what the man of few words would reply to that question. Before he can answer Bennett comes back in the room and releases a frustrated growl.
"She's right we leave Monday." He says and I shake my head.
As much as we try to keep things independent from the label, we were still dependent on them for things like this tour. We have no choice but to go along with this change and that isn't good.
"It won't be so bad! Just think about how exciting it will be to finally be on tour!" Annie says cheerfully.
"We will have to figure out plans for Luna out soon then." Bennett reminds me.
"Does it really matter? She is going with you on your tour anyway, right? What does it matter when?" She asks and I feel a growl forming.
"Luna is deaf. She needs more care than a regular Omega." Kai points out and Annie's eyes widen.
"Oh my gosh. She's deaf? Why would you pick an Omega with that kind of disability? Why would Haven even let her..." A deep growl has her snapping her mouth shut quickly.
"Leave the papers and go, Annie," Declan growls out and a wide-eyed Annie nods.
She leaves the papers on the island and quickly gets to her feet.
"I'll talk to you guys later." She says and scurries out of the room.
The door slams shut a moment later.
"I don't like the idea of her coming on. Tour with us, but Tom can't handle a thing without her," Bennett says.
"I have a bad feeling that she isn't the only one who is going to have a few things to say about Luna. At least she can't hear any of it." Kai adds shaking his head.
"Hey. Who was at the door?" I turn at the sound of Rowan's voice and look down to see his fingers entwined with Luna's.
A quick perusal of her doesn't show any signs that Rowan has marked her but I do catch a faint bruise just below her chin that says something definitely happened between them.
"Annie stopped by with some papers from Tom. Did you guys..." Kai points between Rowan and Luna. "You know. Sleep together?"
Rowan narrows his eyes at Kai. "Not that it's any of your business but no we didn't. When I heard the doorbell we stopped in case it was something important."
"You'll have to get on it soon," I say.
"Why?" He asks leading Luna further into the room.
She glances up at me and bites the corner of her lip. I can tell she is feeling a little guilty about what she did with Rowan so I give her a small smile, one reserved just for her.
"Don't worry. None of us are mad." I sign to her and I see her shoulders relax.
"Thank you." She signs back and I hold my hand out to her.
She lets go of Rowan and walks right over to me but instead of taking my hand, she wraps her arms around my waist. I'm stunned at first but it doesn't take long for me to realize that her touching me like this doesn't bother me.
Her deep honey floral scent instantly hits me and my whole body heats up.
Yeah, we need to figure this out quickly because there is no way we can take Luna on tour with her scent this thick. I don't know how Rowan had any restraint left at all.
