Chapter 13

**Elise **


We arrive at a cute little building right at the end of a street full of these little shops. All of it looked like one of those small towns in the movies where everyone knows each other and they smile as they walk by you. It's so strange that such a place has been so close to where I was all this time.

Ezra pulls into the parking area behind the building and Weston jumps out of the car and reaches out for me. I have to laugh at the fact that he has to help me out of this car like I'm a kid or something. Still, I accept the help and he wraps me up in his arms making my feet dangle above the ground.

"Easy there." He says, his face way too close to mine and I make the mistake of glancing down at his lips.

I mean how could I not when we're this close and he smells amazing.

"T-thanks," I say with a stutter and that makes him smirk.

He knows exactly what he's doing and that smirk stays plastered on his face as he sets me on my feet and walks away.

Jerk!

"You're blushing sweetheart," Sawyer says closing my door for me and dropping a kiss on my cheek before turning and following Weston inside.

Seriously? What are they trying to do, get me all flustered before I see their sister?

I stand watching them leave and debate whether I should bother following. I'm too confused and flustered to see anyone right now. That is until I feel a warm hand slip around mine and I turn to see Archer looking down at me.

"May I escort the princess?" He asks amusement dancing in his eyes.

I smile up at him and nod. "I would be honored, sir," I say playing along and he chuckles as we walk hand-in-hand to the front door.

Archer pulls the door open and small bells go off alerting our presence. As soon as we step inside I take in the homey look of the place. It doesn't look like a doctor's office at all. There are comfy couches and chars everywhere, and a table full of snacks and water. My attention turns to the desk sitting between two doors and my heart sinks a little at what I see. Sawyer is smiling at the girl sitting behind the desk and she's looking at him like he's the only man she's ever had eyes for.

It's dumb for me to be jealous of them, I know it is but...I can't explain it even if I tried. He seemed to be giving off all these hints that he was interested in me and basically said it straight out. Or at least I thought so, maybe I misread what he said.

Archer leads me toward them and I make an effort to avoid looking at Sawyer and instead focus my attention on the girl. When she looks at Archer I see a hint of interest but not nearly as strong as the way she looked at Saywer, and I hate how happy that made me. Who was I to be upset about them with another girl? Nothing with us is settled or even clear at this point, but nature doesn't listen to reason.

They took me in, cared for me, and offered me a nest to stay in. In Omega terms, they in a sense offered themselves up to me as a safe bet to have a future with. Dumb I know but as an Omega, those things are big things that mean a lot to us. After what I've been through it means even more to me, but maybe they just don't understand it.

"Hey Ashley, Elsie is here to see Liddy," Archer says to the girl.

"Of course Archie." She says in that fake happy way people use when they work in jobs like this.

She lifts the phone on her desk to her ear and presses one of the red buttons. "Hi, it's Ashley. The boys are here with someone named Elise."

I wanted to sneer at her for making me sound like just some random person, but I guess I sort of am. She doesn't know me from Eve and the guys just met me last night.

"She'll be right-" Ashley starts to say, but one of the doors opens before she can finish.

Liddy steps out and drops her hands to her hips. "Well, it's about time. I thought I would have to drive over to your place and drag her here myself."

"Oh calm down sis, we brought her," Sawyer says dropping an arm around her shoulders.

She looks up at him with narrowed eyes and he quickly drops his arm and walks to stand on the other side of me. He steps back just enough so that he's partially behind me and I look over my shoulder at him and he shrugs.

"She's scary." He whispers and I bite back a laugh.

"Come on in Elise, I'm all ready for you," Liddy says and all the guys step in unison with me.

Liddy eyes them and crosses her arms over her chest. "Just Elise. You had time with her this morning. Now, this is girl time."

She steps forward and grabs my free hand and pulls me toward the door forcing Archer to release me so I wouldn't get hurt. I looked back at him and my heart ached at the sad look on his face. Was he that upset for me to be away from him?

Liddy leads me through the door and down a short hallway. We pass several doors and stop when one opens up.

"Everything looks good today. We'll see you next month right?" A man in a similar kind of white coat that Liddy is wearing says to a woman as she steps out of the room.

She has an adorable baby on her hip and a tall guy following after her.

"Definitely. We're off tour right now, and Luna has decided this will be our home base. She loves it here." The man behind the woman says.

"Great, see you guys soon then. Bye." The man says waving to the little boy then his eyes lift to see us and he smiles wide. "Hey, you."

Liddy waves goodbye to the couple leaving and stops in front of the man. He leans down and kisses her and I glance away to give them some privacy.

"Scott, this is Elise. She's the one my brothers rescued last night." Liddy explains and I glance back to greet him.

"Hi," I say simply and he nods his head in greeting.

"Your brothers always seem to come to someone's rescue." He says with an amused tone.

"Yeah but this time it's different. I actually like her." Liddy says turning and smiling at me before squeezing my hand.

"How so?" He asks looking at me like I'm a puzzle to figure out.

"Weston growled at me!" Liddy says sounding shocked and offended.

The guy, Scott, laughed and shakes his head. "You can be a bit pushy baby."

Liddy lets out a huff and he leans down to leave a quick kiss on her lips and she relaxes. "You know I mean that in the best possible way. Your bossiness is what we love most about you. Among many other things."

He wiggles his brows at her and she smacks his chest playfully. I watch on in fascination as playful panter passes between them. It's as if the whole world has disappeared around them.

"Alright leave me be so I can work." Liddy finally says tugging on my hand. "The guys are in the waiting room probably pacing. Can you go check on them?"

"As you wish amore." He says saluting her and heading toward the door.

Liddy shakes her head with a big smile. "That man is too much."

"You guys are really cute together," I say hoping I don't sound too envious, but man I am.

She shrugs. " I guess. But don't think I'm soft just because he makes me all weak in the knees. I can still kick my brother's butts if they mess around."

"I have no doubt. You are one tough cookie." I say meaning every word.

I'm both scared and envious of her strength. Also, I kind of have a girl crush on her and hope to be just like her when I grow up.

"Those boys have been trouble since day one, and it has been my responsibility to whip them into shape. Of course, they always go rogue and I have to send my boys to clean up after them. It's a lot of work taking care of all of them. Anyway, one day I'll pass that all to another and it will be her job to keep them in line." She glances my way and winks but doesn't say that person should be me.

She stops in front of the last door and opens it to a small room. There is an exam bed and a small desk with a computer and a metal cabinet with all sorts of things inside. The nice thing about it is there is a cozy blanket laying on the exam table and a few pillows.

"This is a room fixed up for Omegas. I hope it helps you feel more comfortable." She says taking a seat on the desk chair next to the bed. "Take a seat."

I slowly sit and she turns to face me. "So how are you feeling?"

The million dollar question. The most important question though is, do I lie to protect myself or hope that telling the truth will offer me an ally?
