Chapter 34

**Ezra**

"Dammit!" I yell at the screen in front of me and slam my fists on my desk.

"Beating up the table isn't going to fix this shit." Weston grumbles and I throw a murderous glare his way.

Even with Archer's help, we are still nowhere closer to finding out anything about these people. It's like every trace of them has disappeared for good. One thing seems clear though...Kane is not working with them. If everyone else has gone underground then he wouldn't show up like that. It's clear he has an obsession with Elise that won't be going away any time soon.

"Why can't we find them? We have busted groups more organized than them with hardly any real trouble but these guys are a ghost." I drop my head in my hands and see the scared look on Elise's face when we first saw her.

"Maybe we need to reevaluate things. That bust was big. There has to be something we missed connected to that night. We found that place, maybe we need to go back over the things that led us there." Weston suggests.

"We've tried everything else," Archer says from the speakerphone.

We all go silent and work through a few ideas.

"How is she?" I ask Archer instead of the word vomit going through my head right now.

He sighs. "She was pretty freaked when she saw him on the video but Sawyer is doing a good job of distracting her."

There is a hint of jealousy in his voice that makes me smirk. Weston snorts and shakes his head.

"Don't be bitter," Weston says and Archer says something that we can't pick up.

"We'll be home soon. Should we pick up some food? " I ask.

I needed a break from all this. Being with Elise for a little while will help me clear my head.

"I'll ask Elise and let you know." He says.

I realize then that even though we feel this intense relationship with Elise and have bonded her that there is so much we still don't know about her. There is a lot she doesn't know about us. We need to rectify that.

"Okay get back to me," I tell him and end the call. "I need to clear my head."

Weston grunts in agreement and I lean back in my chair.

"We're taking this on to help Elise get justice, but we haven't taken enough time to enjoy this time with her. We're making the same mistakes as before." I say.

"She isn't like others," Weston says and I know that but I'm worried.

"I don't want to give her any reason to think she isn't the most important thing in our life. Spending a bit of time showing her our headquarters and spending money on a bunch of stuff at a quick visit to the mall isn't enough. Even this soon I already know she is exactly the girl we needed, but I still want to do things better this time. I don't want us to get lost in our work again and not give her everything she needs." I continue.

Weston nods. "She's had it hard. We need to take good care of her. Omegas need a lot of attention and care."

We bonded with her so fast, but are we ready for what that means? Elise is amazing, but she needs more than a few hot rolls in the sheets and expensive gifts.

"Let's get out of here," I say getting to my feet and heading toward the door.

We pop in to say our goodbyes to a few of the guys and head for the front door.

"Ezra!" Someone calls as we pass and I turn to see one of our receptionists looking our way.

"What's up?" I ask stepping up to the desk in front of her.

She gives me a wide smile. "I wanted to let you know the new shipment will be in tomorrow. Should I put them in your office?"

I give her a confused look. She already knows where to put our deliveries, so why was she asking?

"No, put them in the storage room," I tell her and she nods with that big smile still plastered on her face.

With that, I turn and follow Weston out to the truck. When we climb in I feel his eyes on me.

"What?" I ask turning my head as I pull out.

"You need to shoot those girls down. Elise isn't going to like seeing them flutter their fake lashes at you all the time." Weston says firmly.

"What are you talking about?" I am honestly not following.

"You have your head so focused on other things that you don't notice the way those girls look at you. You're head Alpha, and they want you." He explains.

I scoff at him. "I have never given the idea that I wanted a relationship with them."

"Maybe not but it doesn't mean they don't want it. I'm just saying that they might try to get close to you and you know how territorial Omegas can be. There is a fierce side to Elise, and I don't want to see her screw them up. Well, maybe that isn't true but it could be bad for business." He says with a chuckle.

I shake my head. "Elise wouldn't do that, but I think I'd like to see her try."

On that, we both agree.

Our sister is a kickass Omega, and Weston is right. There is a spark in Elise just like Liddy. Maybe that's why we were so drawn to her. She was broken in so many ways, but she has survived and fought. I respect the hell out of her, and I want to see her embrace that side. She looks sexy as hell in that gear we got for her too. Wouldn't mind seeing her kick ass in that.

Great now I'm getting a hard-on.

My phone rings through the speakers of the truck and I quickly answer when I see Archer's name.

"Hey," I say, but it isn't Archer on the phone.

"Hi, Ezra!" Elise's sweet voice echoes through the truck and I smile.

"Hi, love. We're heading home, are you hungry?" I ask.

"Yes! Starving." She groans and I laugh.

"Yeah, you are." I hear Sawyer say and I roll my eyes. "OW! What was that for?"

"Shush you," Elise says.

Weston and I chuckle. "Keep him in line princess," Weston says.

"I'm trying but he's annoyingly stubborn. Anyway, yes food sounds good but I don't know what I want. I'm not sure what's around her and it's been ages since I ate a meal from a restaurant." She says.

My smile falls at the reminder that our girl has been held captive.

"How about we grab a little bit of everything?" I suggest.

"Wouldn't that be too much trouble? I don't want you driving all over because I can't decide on what I want." I can hear the guilt in her voice, and it makes me edgy.

"It is not trouble You need to eat more," Weston says with a growl.

Elise laughs sweetly.

"Yes sir. Okay bring us the works I guess, but hurry because I miss you guys!" She says sounding more cheerful.

"Will do. See you soon love."

"Okay bye!" She says sweetly before the call cuts out.

"She's adorable," I say my thoughts out loud without meaning to.

Weston grunts in agreement. "Cute, sweet, sexy too."

I laugh at the big guy. "Yeah."

Weston and I hit all the best food spots nearby and load up on enough food to feed us for at least a couple of days. We weren't small guys, so it would be gone quickly. When we finally pull into the driveway I smile when the door flies open and Elise comes walking out.

"Were you waiting for us?" I ask stepping out of the truck.

She smiles brightly and walks toward me before wrapping her arms around my waist. I do the same and rest my chin on her head. She breathes in deep and I do the same. She smells so sweet and a little like Sawyer. She must have showered but it's hard to get that Alpha smell off.

"Sorry. I missed you guys even though you haven't been gone very long." She looks up at me with an uncertain look on her face.

She's worried about her wanting us around. That couldn't be further from the truth.

"I missed you too love," I tell her truthfully before leaning down and brushing my lips over hers.

She sighs and the sound sparks a need in me. I thread my fingers through her hair and wrap my hand around the back of her neck to stop her from moving away. We deepen the kiss until someone clears their throat.

"Not that it's not hot to see you guys making out, the food is going to get cold," Sawyer says and gives me a knowing smirk.

I look over Elise's head to see him standing in the doorway.

"Sawyer...fuck off."

Damn bastard.
