Chapter 41

Scott's POV

I felt no remorse for the people I shoved out of my way as I ran down the dirt road. My insicts told me to go north, so that's what I did.

I snarled and snapped my jaws, the feeling of him taking her again and again hit me non-stop. I would rip his head off his shoulders when I find him.

For hours I ran and for your I plotted Ryan Dale's demise.

The first encounter was quick but he made sure he got his fill as the hours past on by, so I couldn't be upset with her for any of it.

I felt a sharp pain hit my ribcage, we were so close to her because Ezekiel could hear her crying but we both felt her pain. I hated him. I hated him more than I ever hated somebody before.

"Please stop!" I heard a cry in my head, I knew I was getting closer due to how clear she sounded. A stabbing pain in my lower back had my Lycan stumbling then roll onto the ground as I fell.

Ezekiel took over when we felt Ryan enter her. The cries in my head had him runnimg faster. I don't think she realized she had her mind-link open, so the closer I got the more I heard.

I couldn't imagine how her family was doing while hearing her cry out.

He halted after a few minutes of running, we felt her getting closer. Her link was faint and it made both him and I worry.

In the distance I saw five wolves running towards me at a high speed. But once I saw the wolf in the front suddenly stop, I noticed he was running back towards something on the ground wrapped in blue with red spots on it.

"Mate!" Ezekiel snarled as he began running again. The man had shifted back to his human form and was speakimg fast while trying to get Brooklyn to wake up.

The other wolves whimpered once I stepped closer. They bowed their heads and stepped back. The man on his knees hadn't saw me yet, but I could see he was worried about my mate.

"Come on, I know you're tired. But I can't take you home if you don't wake up!" He snarled at her, but I knew he was more worried than angry with her. "Wake up, Brooklyn!" He snapped at her and punched the ground.

He went to pick her up when I stepped forward and pushed him.back and  he scrambled away from me. He growled thinking I was some random wolf wanting to take advantage of a female wolf in heat.

"Easy mutt.," I growled at him. He instantly realized who and what I was and backed down. I leaned down and placed my head on her chest, she was barely breathing.

I moved my hands to her face and picked it up. I leaned down and gently kissed her lips, even while out I was trying to tell her I was here. That I wasn't mad at her and wouldn't ever let anyone harm her ever again.

"He stabbed her, twice. I noticed before I pulled it out that there was something on the blade itself, I have no clue what." The man behind me stuttered out.

"Oleander!" I snarled. I picked up the smell the closer to her I got, I could also smell dimeranium. It blocked a witches power, but only the Council had all remnants of the stuff. It normally came in a metal, but that could be melted down and put on anything.

I looked at her wrists only to see how red they were. He must have restraned her with it. The more I looked her over, I could see how the bone in her shoulder near her collarbone looked raised.

Her heat is why she couldn't shift, but the wolfsbane and oleander is why she didn't heal. I was just shocked she was still alive. And with that in mind, I slipped my arms under her and lifted her up as I stood.

Without another word I turned around and ran back home with her, the others following me closely.

**********

Sitting the the waiting room, my feet bounced on the floor as I waited for somebody to tell me what was happening with Brooklyn.

I had to bring her to the clinic, because they had medications to stop her heat from causing her anymore discomfort, but she would still be in heat regardless.

When I showed up Uriel was locking up for the evening while talking to a few young men. He had to hold them back when I explained what was happening while a man I had only seen twice opened the front door for me.

It was Ryan's father.

"Scott?" My head shot up. Uriel was standing in the doorway he motioned me to follow him. I got up and followed him down the hall.

"I gave her some medicine to help her heat die down. It's not permanent though. It will come back in a week or so." I nodded letting him know I was listening.

"How bad?" I asked.

We stopped in front of a room where the door was open. He turned to me and took his glasses off. "I've given her blood and sewed up the stab wounds she sustained. I've given her something to hydrate her because she was dehydrated, I also gave her loads of medication for the silver and wolfsbane. The meds for the oleander has to be ordered."

"And the other..?" I asked him. I know Ryan had taken advantage of her but I wasn't sure if we had to worry about her getting preganat.

He didn't answer me, he just gave me a grave look before turning around and walking into the room.

I followed him and went over and sat down in the chair he brought over for me.

After I sat down it felt like hours until she woke up. Her brother-in-law brought me some clothes, I went down the hall to change quickly and when I returned she was sitting up in the bed looking at her hands.

I tried to clean her up the best I could but the way she was looking at her hands it's like she could still see him all over her. Brooklyn rubbed her thighs then looked at her hands again, a soft sob left her and her ha ds began shaking.

I walked over and grab her hands so they would stop.

"I tried to fight it.." She whispers.

"I know!" I told her.

"He cuffed me to the bed."

I moved my eyes down to her wrists that were still red and angry looking with small blisters. "I know."

""He took it, willingly-"

"We'll take care of everything!" I cut her off. I knew where she was going and I couldn't bear to hear her finish saying it. "I'll let Uriel know!" I murmured.

After a long while she said nothing while I stood there holding her hands in mine.

"I can't feel, Zena!" She finally says.

Ezekiel whimpered in my head, Brooklyn looked up at me because of it. Her eyes were glassy and her bottom lip trembled. My breathing hitched and my heart broke seeing her sad face.

Her beautiful brown orbs weren't their normal chocolate color. Her pupils had a shade of cerulean around them and blended into the brown beautifully, it was the oddest thing I had ever seen.

I moved one of my hands to her cheek and cupped it. Brooklyn closed her eyes and leaned into my hand and a tear fell when she closed them them.

"I'm sorry!" She whispered. "I'm sorry, I made you feel all that pain." She continued while staring straight ahead. I felt nothing through the bond while she sat there staring off.

"Don't be!" I said, she didn't have anything to be sorry for, it wasn't her fault. "I love you, Brooklyn, so I don't blame you for what happened!" I reassured her, but she didn't respond.

I sighed and ran a hand down her back. I forgot she had a wound on it and she flinched away when my hand went over it. "I'm sorry, amoureux!" She nodded once but that was it.

"Are you hungry?" I asked her, she laid back down on her left side and said nothing.

Well now we're back to her not speaking to me again.

I balled my hands into fists trying not to take my anger out on her because deep down it wasn't directed towards her.

I left the room she was in and went into the hallway and punched the wall. Hard.

"I'll be back in a little while. Ask her sister to come sit with her." I told the warrior who nodded his head and I left. I was going to find the man responsible for making her like this again. But first I need some help.
