Chapter 63
Brooklyn's POV
Sitting on the bed in the packhouse with Scott looming over me as he paced back and forth only stoping to stare at me, open his mouth, close it then begin pacing again.
All of my siblings sat outside the door as he tried to talk to me but all he has done for the past twenty minutes was pace.
"Sco-"
"Don't!" He stopped and put his hand up. I closed my mouth and pursed my lips. I knew he was hurt and confused. Well I was too.
He didn't have to watch everyone they loved suffer in their passing. For the past two years I watched them all cry and mourn my death, only to just move on and forget about me just as quickly as it happened. And the worst part? The Moon Goddess refused to let me see my little girl as she grew up, I had no clue who she looked like, or what she liked to do because I wasn't allowed to see her. It was my punishment for what I did to Ryan.
He thinks what he went through hurt. What I went through hurt more, he astleast got to see her everyday. I would rather just be dead and not know what's going on afterwards.
"I'll leave then!" Selene told me that if he didn't accept me without a doubt that I was who I said I was in twenty-four hours, then I go back. And I wouldn't get this chance ever again. Scott didn't seem to want to believe who I was even though he felt the mate bond snap back into place when I looked into his eyes.
Getting up off the bed I lowered my gaze and went for the door. "Wait," I stopped my hand hovering over the handle.
"How do I know you won't leave me again? Or try to break our bond with your magic like you did before?"
"Selene, stripped me of my magic."
That's why it took her two years to send me back. She didn't want to take me at all, but the time it took her to strip me of my powers took alot longer than she anticipated. She even had to ask her brother for help. I wouldn't wish that agony on my worst enemy, even though I'm sure I inflicted worse pain on them myself.
I promised myself i wouldn't cry if he refused to believe me, but this was my own fault. And both Sebastian and Selene both prepared me just in case he didn't and I had to go back.
"Before i leave, can I see her?" I whispered not turning around. It broke me whenever I saw the pain on his face when he looked at me. I remember how he looked on that last day I saw him, how he begged me to stay and not give up. I was too broken then, and couldn't dig myself out. Nothing anyone daid would have saved me.
"But I don't want you to leave!" Scott whispers back. His hand touched my arm, and he took a sharp intake of breath when he felt the sparks after he turned me around to face him. "I want you to stay!" He repeated.
"But you are angry, I can see it on your face." I pointed to the lines on his forehead as he tried to hide how angry he really was. I reached up and rubbed my finger over the lines not really liking the way they made his face look.
"I'm not mad at you!" He says softly as he took my hand away from his face.
"Then what could you possibly be mad at? Ever since we came in here your mood has gotten more bitter by the minute." I asked him.
"Because of her!" He gritted and pointed to the ceiling. "I have heard everything you have thought of since coming in here. The more you think the more mad I get." He let my arm go and goes and starts pacing once again. "She had the nerve to strip you of your moon blessed gifts, gifts given by her. Then she goes and punishes you by not letting you see, Rosalie? How dare she go that far! You died so she could live."
I let him go on his rant, I was stuck just on the name he gave our daughter. I wasn't told her name, I've just been referring to her as 'my baby' or 'my daughter' that was another thing she wouldn't let me have. And my heart ached the whole time i was there to know it or see even just a glipse of her.
My child's first name. Thinking about not knowing even her name made soul shattering pain rip through my heart. She was two now, what else have I missed. Her first words, steps, scrapped knee? Had I been replaced by somebody else? Does another hold her heart for that role as her mom?
"Stop it!" Scott's warm arms wrapped tightly around me and I couldn't help but let the tears flow. "I've missed it all!" I said, she has no clue who I am. Does she hate me for leaving too?
"No you haven't." He pulled back and cupped my face, his hands were warm and I leaned into one as he wiped my cheeks off with his thumbs. "I tell her about you all the time. And..." He pulls his phone from his pocket. "Even though she's never met you, she misses you." He smiled and turned his phone screen to me, it was a picture of him and a little girl with curly blonde hair and big brown eyes sitting on a carousel ride. Each one had a big smile on their face.
I took the phone from him and just stared at the picture with blurry tear filled eys. He shut the screen off all too soon. I wanted to look at her face forever but he took it away and set her pack into his pocket.
"Her birthday is tommorrow. Why don't we surprise her and your family when we show up at the party?" I nodded my head vigorously. I didn't care that they moved on and forgot about me, yes it hurt but they each had families and a life of their own to deal with. So seeing them all after so long, would be really refreshing. For me and for them.
"Now go tell Levi goodnight before I murder him. He's giving me a headache with him mind-linking me nonstop." I rolled my eyes and went to go for the door when he pulled me back into him.
"Where are you going?" I bunched my brows together. Didn't he just ask me to go tell my siblings goodnight? This time he rolled his eyes, but I could tell he was being playful about it because he smiled as he did. "Kiss me first." He said.
Way to make a girl feel wanted Scott. With flaming cheeks I leaned up and kissed his cheek. As I pulled back he grabbed my chin and turned my head and captured my lips with his. "Don't ever kiss me on my cheek like a grandmother does her granchild." He said against my lips as he scolded me.
I nodded my head and ge let me go. "Now hurry. I want to see what Zena looks like as a Lycan!" I smiled even bigger. I got to see what she looked like before I was sent back, and boy was she beautiful.
"WE WANNA SEE!!!" Zachary yelled from the other side of the door as he began hitting it.
"PLEASE?????" They all begged in unision and started hitting the door together..
I unlocked the door and opened it only for the five of them to fall in on top of one another. "Really?" I giggled.
"I've missed my sister wolf! Let me see her highness in her natural form please?" Jordan got on his knees then wrapped his arms around my legs as he begged me again. "Please, please, please?" He looked up at me and I saw that it was his wolf Jax speaking to me and not him, he was always so darn clingy with me and Bailey when he and my brothers first shifted. I looked at all of my siblings, and noticed that all of their wolves had taken over, even down to Evan.
"Okay, were do you want to go?" I asked them. I wasn't going to question why their wolves felt the need to take charge and beg to see Zena's form, and I was more than happy to oblige to their request.
