Chapter 62
Some hours later me, Chris and Leroy were on the stage singing Believe by Cher; out of tune might I add. "Do you believe in life after love?" Chris belted out loudly with the last chorus of the song. And I chuckled.
"I can feel something inside me say" Leroy sang, he tried to add a twist to the last word but it didnt pan out as he hoped, and him singing with a southern accent mad it sound goofy becuse he was out of tune aswell.
Now it was my turn, but when I picked up the mic to sing the last line I saw a woman standing in the back who looked like Brooklyn. "Amoureux" The word slipped out animatedly as I watched her fade away.
The music soon ended and the microphone was taken away from me. Chris led me off the stage, I kept looking back at where i saw here smiling face but she wasn't there. We went back over to the table, I sat down and sighed deeply grabbing my beer and taking a long swig of it.
"Scott what happened?" Baliey asked me.
I took another sip of my budweiser then looked over at her. "I've no clue. I thought I saw your sister standing in the crowd." I downed the rest of my bottle and got up to get another.
And for the rest of the night we all spent it catching up. I was tellimg them how I found a few Lycans since I went back home and began my rein as the Lycan King. I even have a Beta and Gamma that are keeping things handled while I'm here. Even my Beta being one of my closest friends when I was a kid.
He found his mate, a rogue who was wandering the wilderness. She's now happily marked and mated, and now expecting their first kid. Rosalie keeps saying its a girl, but she's been saying that to Amiee about her twins too. I think she just wants more girls so she has more people to play with rather than boys.
The crowd erupted into loud drunk cheers as the triplets left the stage, the cat calls from the women here stroking their egos attentively. Bailey shoved Jordan away as he walked past her causing him to stumble. He shot up and spun shooting daggers at her. Evan shushed her giggles down with his hand over her mouth as he tried not to laugh himself.
I really have missed being around family.
My lycan stopped talking to me after we lost Brooklyn. He only comes out when we are with Rosalie or have to deal with King business, which is fine, I know he is lonely but I miss my best friend.
"Last call!" The bartender shouted. "Also we have one more performer for you guys before we shut the house down." She called out over the people going up for one last order.
Caleb left hours ago to go and be with Amiee and Chris had to be up early for council, Leroy was his ride so they left shortly after Caleb.
I looked at my watch as the music played in the background. Midnight struck when I looked fown at it. "Happy birthday Rosa, and I miss you everyday my love." I murmured to myself.
The person that started singing on the stage sent electric chills down my spine, her voice like an angel. I wasn't the only one affected by it either. Others in the bar were leaning on their friends or lovers as they looked at the person behind me singing. Bailey shot up out of her chair causing it to fall over. I just looked at her confused, so did Evan as he picked up the chair and tried to get her to sit back down.
The boys were also sitting there with wide eyes, unmoving as they all looked over their shoulders at the stage. "Bailey baby sit down, why are you-" Evan stopped when Bailey grabbed his face and turned it in the direction everone was looking.
Now I was curious who they were all staring at. Because Evan looked at me as he stared, his mouth slightly agape, I turned in my seat to see who this majestic voice belonged to seeing as I was the only person who wasn't looking.
My Lycan can barreling to the surface so face that it knocked the wind out of me. My breathing lodged in my throat as I looked at her, the light on the stage making her look majestic.
I got up, I could feel that everyone that was left in the bar were either a werewolf or too drunk to notice anything, because Ezekiel let out a growl that dropped every person who had a wolf in here on their knees.
But her...never her. I'd never dream of dropping her.
I walked slowly still trying to process the beauty standing before my eyes. I knew my eyes were glowing, could feel it as I made my way across the bar. "Who are you?" Ezekiel growled, feeling a tingling sensation on my neck as he asked. Her eyes never once looking us as the DJ cut the music.
The smile that spread on that face as she looked to the floor will forever be engraved into my memory. "You know who I am."
"I know who you look like! And last I checked, she was dead!" I growled, letting my Lycan sit with me as we let our aura wash over her, we cluld feel the damn beast in her. Why wasn't it working on her though? "Also she was human, you aren't."
"Perhaps she was, but her wolf was still in transition, Scott!" Her eyes lifted from the floor finally and locked with my own. "And she has been waiting to come back just to be with her mate."
"Mate!" I growled, those blue eyes shining back at mine just like mine were shining back at hers.
Somebody pushed past my aura and me and ran up the steps of the stage. "SISSY!" Levi screamed tackling her to the ground. Hearing Levi yell that one word made me and Ezekiel snap out of our haze and finally settle on the word we had said, then on what she said.
Our mate was alive. But how? And why now?
