Chapter 64
Brooklyn's POV
"Come on, daybreak is about to happen!" My sister yelled. I was on the other side of a tree hiding as I undressed. The chilly early morning breeze made chills run through me.
I haven't felt her come forward but once and that was only when I looked up at Scott in the bar. Since then she's been quiet. "I think somebody is being a chicken." Zachary snickered. He knew I wasn't one, or I used to not be one. Maybe I was afraid to shift, it's been ages since I had and last time I did or attempted to, it didn't end the way we all wanted it to.
"Leave her alone, Zach." My sister said and then I heard Zachary grunt. That made me smile, perhaps he'll stop rushing perfection then.
"There you go, baby. Think positive thoughts." More snickering happened as I tapped on Zena's barrier that she was hiding behind. She tried to reinforce it but eventually it came down and she huffed miserably.
"Arent you excited to be able to finaly run around with our siblings? Don't you want to show them what you look like now?" I asked her softly.
"No, I hurt them. They should be afraid of me." She told me and I sighed knowing she wasnt going to change her mind. "She won't let me shift. She thinks you should run for the hills." I called out to the people waiting.
"We are staying here. And if your beast has a problem with it tell her to come out and tell me her damn self." Bailey challenged. I smirked because zena didn't like that. "Or what?" I asked."
"Or I'll kick your ass." She laughed as she said it, I know it was in jest but Zena saw a challenge and didn't like that at all.
"Come on out puppy, I know you can't be that big! You were just a puny thing last time we-"
One second I was standing there trying to hold in my giggles, and the next Zena had taken over and was towering over my oldest sibling, her claws extended and hovering just above her face. Zena quickly realized what she did and retracted them then forced me to shift back.
"Oh Lord, Zena. A warning next time." I grumbled as somebody helped me off my sister then helped Bailey get up off the ground.
A shirt was threw at me, it smelled of Zachary. I looked down forgetting I was naked and blushed, not because of Scott and my brothers being here but because Evan was here. I quickly hid behind Bailey and put the shirt on. "Your husband didn't see my nitty bits did he?"
"Not as much as I did!" Levi rubbed his eyes furiously, like that would help him erase the image of seeing me naked from his brain.
"Oh please, I've seen you naked many times. You used to moon me mom and Bailey after you, Zach and Jordan would go hunting for rabits with dad when you were teenagers."
"But you guys loved seeing my bare naked ass." He pretended to pout.
"Not even a desperate woman would want to see that ass of yours." Evan stated then chuckled.
As they began to argue, my sister pulled me away from them, only just a couple feet away she cupped both of my cheeks then kissed each one. "What was that for?" I asked her with a smile.
"Well for starters..." Bailey engulfed me in a hug. I quickly responded and wrapped mine around her. "I missed having my little sister around. These brothers of ours don't cut it like you do!" Her voice cracked and I knew she was fighting off her emotions. I could feel her wolf comforting Zena and I really missed that familial bond our wolves shared when one of us was upset.
"Shouldn't I be comforting you?" She shook her head. "No, you died, let me let her do her thing. She missed her sister too." She said squeezing me tighter like I was going to let go or something. Like I would ever.
"She's, white Brooke! And as big as Scott's Lycan is. You should be proud of how strong both of you have became." She pulled back and I looked down.
"At a cost though." I looked back up. "She took my powers, Bailey!"
"That's alright. Rosalie don't have any either." I looked over at Scoot who leaned on the tree holding my clothes in his hand. He nodded his head once but said nothing. Was she punished too because of me, because of what I did? I would hate if Selene did that to her because of me.ll
Not long after that everyone was ready to leave. It was now just Scott and I as he led be back to the back door to the packhouse that was just a few meters from where we were. My brothers already went up and into their rooms to get some sleep.
"What are you thinking about?" Scott asked as he grabbed my hand after I put my jeans back on. I gave him a look because he knew what I was thinking, all I wanted to know is how or why?
He sighed and lifted my hand up then kissed the back of it. "Ever since Rosalie could talk and undstand the meaning of magic and why some of her family members could do things and why she could do things most people couldn't. She and I had a very child-like adult talk, and she decided she didn't want them."
"What? Why?" I gasped looking up at him. "Those powers are her birthright." I told him.
"She said, if powers hurt her mommy then she didn't want them." He smiled. The thought of a child as little as two being brave enough to give something as cool as magic up is very heartwartming. "I didn't take them, I ask her every month before she takes the suppression potion if she wants it, that if she wanted to change her mind at any time she could. She still drinks it anyways after telling me why."
"It still isn't right." I was smiling behind my pout. She gave up half of who she is meant to be because of me.
"Who knows, next one is today. You might change her mind when she sees you." He growled lightly, causing me to giggle some. "I have missed the sound of your laugh. Haven't heard it since the day you went into heat."
I leaned up on my tippy toes and pecked his lips. "Perhaps later we can talk about ...us. But I'm tired. What time is the party?" I asked him. I looked down at his wrist watch to see the time. It was still very early, the sun was just barely peeking through the trees.
"Twelve!" I nod. I led us back in and I was too tired to ask him why he was staying here at the packhouse and not in the apartment building we were in instead.
