Chapter 58
Scott's POV
I bursted through the cabin door like a wrecking ball with both Noah and Wyatt behind me. They pushed past me and ran into the kitchen where the scent of blood was strong.
"Amoureux?" I called out to Brooklyn hoping to hear her voice.
"She left a few minutes ago." I hear from the kitchen followed by a cough then a groan. I turned and went into the kitchen to see what happened.
"Whoa take it easy angel!" Noah placed his hand over his wifes lower stomach, his hand was coated in blood.
"No I can't. I have to find her. We have to find her." She looked at me when she said 'we'. I looked at her confused, then she continued. "She let the dark magic in, allowed it to take over her completely. We have to get her back from Sebastian or she's lost for good."
The look on her face told me she wasn't telling me everything. I crossed my arms and leaned against the wall behind me and taised an eyebrow. Everyone in her family has learned to keep their thoughts blocked or they have cast a spell to block their thoughts out from me specifically but I needed to know why she was so worried about her daughter being taken over by dark magic. I've done it, and came out of it several times without an issue.
"We don't have time for this, Scott." She said and I still didn't budge.
"You still havent healed Clara." Wyatt growled at her.
She rolled her eyes at him. "Because Clary is in the Spirit Realm speaking to Selene!"
"Selene? How bad is this?" I asked her. She looked back at me then lowered her eyes with a sigh.
"How much do you know about my past, Scott?" She asked me and I shrugged.
"Enough to know I shouldn't piss you off." She laughed then winced then laughed again.
"Yeah probably. But serously. How much?"
"Umm...Bailey said you were cursed by your great great grandmother who tried to take over your body?"
"Yes, she did try. And we got rid of her for good. But with Brooklyn willingly allowing darkness in she may allow Amara in to. All she needs is a willing participant and she's out of there." She snpped her fingers "Faster than we put her in there. The old hag is down there in the depths with Sebastian, looking for an opening." She got up from the chair she was in with the help of her men. "So the moment my wolf gets back and heals me, we are leaving to go search for my daughter."
I nodded my head. "Yes ma'am."
**********
An hour later we were in Ryan's home pack at his father's house. This place was a damn near mansion.
I walked over to a photo while Brooklyn's parents spoke to John and I walked up to an old photo of Ryan with his parents. Or maybe it was Ryan's father with his parents? Because the photo looked a little dated.
I looked to another. It looked like a photo of Ryan's granparents but younger with a pair of their friends in the picture. I went to walk away when one of the women looked oddly familar.
I picked up the photo and looked at it closely. "Who is this?" I asked interrupting the conversation.
John looked up and squinted his eyes before he smiled. "My grandparents and their close friends."
"Yes, why does this close friend look so much like my girlfriend? Your ex-daughter-in-law?" I growled the question at him. His face paled a little bit.
"Has nqo one told him?" John whispered.
" I assumed Brooke would've." Wyatt whispered back.
I scrubbed a hand down my face and growled again. "Told me what?" I asked.
"The reason she looks nothing like us. She's the spitting image of her great grandmother. My mother's mom actually." Wyatt smiled proudly. "She does have my eyes though, my grandma had blue eyes."
"So the two famlies used to be close before.." I nodded my head at Clara who nodded her head with a sigh.
I set the photo back down and walked back over to where the four of them were at. "Alright. From what my Alpha said, the warriors tracked Ryan back in your pack going into the city. He also spotted Brooklyn."
"Did he speak to her?" John nodded his head.
He did but only because he smelt blood. He couldn't see it but he could smell it." I scrunched up my nose.
"Jt was probably from when she stabbed me." Clara waved the topic off. Where in the city?" She asked him.
"His apartment. I kept it so I could get his things out of it. So he probably just went home."
"And Brooklyn followed him." Noah mumbled.
His face was a little white as he looked down at his wife. I remember when Wyatt told me about his wife and what she did after her mate was killed. I could only imagine what their daughter could do.
I went for the door and once it was opened I shifted and began running.
I clutched the necklace around my neck that held her baby's ashes in it. She took it off a few days after I got back and never put it back on, so I put it on. I'll remember the little angel even if her mother refuses too.
I ran so fast that I ended up getting there in half the time. There was police and ambulances all out front of the apartment building. Helicopters were in the sky shining down on the building.
I shifted back to my human and went around the back, careful not to be seen by anyone. I found some clothes in the laundry down on the bottom floor. I then moved to the stairs and quickly moved up them taking two at a time.
The lights in the building flikered on and off then a scream was heard before multiple windows burst out, the people outside in the street screamed when the glass sprayed over them.
"There is a devil in there!" An older man said as he ran past me while clutching his wife.
Once I got to his floor I opened the door and the screaming got louder the closer I got to his apartment door. My heart began to race the closer I got. I was nervous. Nervous for what I would find, I know if she killed him she would feel terrible once she recovered from this state. So if I could I had to stop her. If it wasn't already too late.
I walked up to his door which was cracked, I pushed it open slowly. The lights in the apartment just flashed back on as I opened the door all the way. Ryan was hanging in the air by nothing, there was nothing tied to his wrists, yet he still hung in the air.
Brooklyn walked back and forth before him, she had blood on her shirt and on her hands and arms, and on different spots on her bed pants. Poor Ryan was covered in it and so was the floor.
"Brooke, please stop. I said I was sorry!" Ryan cried as he yanked at his arms.
I stepped in more and she must have sensed me because she peered around Ryan to look at me. "Oh hello mate. Nice to see you again."
I nearly fell to my knees at how strong her aura was. Clara was right. Her wolf was so strong, much stronger than she was before. Oh and that magical aura. That was something else too. Mine was stronger though, even without the black magic, but that black magic is why her wolf's aura is as strong as it is. Her ancestor is drawing off of it.
I allowed Ezekiel to come forward since he has missed Zena so much more than I did. "Hi princess." He smiled at her. And for just a split second her aura...shifted, because he adressed her as her proper lycan title. But then it went away all too soon and her rage returned.
"Did you come for the show, Mr Toussaint?" She asked me and stood back in front of Ryan. I didn't speak Latin bit whatever she said when she stood back in front of him made a sizzling sound and he grunted loudly while trying not to scream but failed miserably. I cast spells in French.
From my understanding Brooklyn didn't go to the classes for the magical training because she never got her powers. Was she still taught the language? Or did she just pick it up from being around her siblings and mother who always spoke it?
"I'd go with option B, honey!" Brooklyn sang out just as Ryan screamed out again. I cleared my thoughts away and looked back at her. She had just stabbed a fire poker all the way though his shoulder. I hissed at the sight of it, those things were thick and brute s knew that had to have hurt.
"S-Scott..." Ryan called out my name in a pained moan. And as much as I hated the guy I felt bad for him right now. I wanted to end his suffering. I went over to where she and he were at and she allowed me to. I kept my eyes on her just as she kept her eyes on me.
Once my eyes finally left hers I looked over at Ryan and gasped at his apperance. He had several burn marks all over his face and torso. Slash marks and stab wounds from the poker it looked like. Some bruises and many other marks and one of his eyes was also swollen shut.
"Scott man..." Ryan coughed. "You have to help me." He coughed again and Brooklyn laughed at what he said.
"Unlike you Ryan, he would never betray me." She snarled at him. "Speaking of which." She snapped her fingers and two more people appeared in the room.
Ryan's eyes widened, he tried to fight the invisible binds that held him in place but he was still held there, unmoving. "Now this is a threesome." Brooklyn clapped her hands as she looked at the pair of sisters she brought into the apartment.
I couldhear people banging on the door and tying to get into the apartment because she closed the door after I came in and bolted the door closed with another spell.
