Chapter 42

Bailey's POV

I knocked on the door before I entered. One of the warriors called and said that Scott left and was angry but had asked me to come and sit with Brooklyn.

Upon entering the room I now knew why.

Even though she couldn't feel the affects of it, you could smell it. The sickly sweet smell of her heat in the air. Explains all the warriors outside the building.

I went over and sat down in the chair and picked up her hand. I noticed the pill on the table next to her on the table with a glass of water.

"Do you want to take this?" I asked her.

Her eyes looked up at where it was then back the wall. "Scott hates me so who cares of I'm pregnant?"

Her words hurt me. Scott doesn't hate her, he never could.

I picked up the pill and held in in feont of her face. "Don't take it for Scott or for Ryan. Take it for you, Brooke. You can't shift if you're in heat and you can't shift if you get pregnant." I told her.

If it was Scott's child I wouldn't care. But this was Ryan. My sister wasn't having his child because he took advantage of her in this state.

"Bailey, I can't hear her? And I haven't been told what I was given." I I sighed deeply, how could I tell her the truth? We weren't sure if the oleander killed Zena or not, and if it did the only reason Brooklyn was still alive was because it happened mid shift.

I lifted up the pill once again and offered it to her. "I don't think you'd beable to handle it if Ryan got you pregnant sissy!!" Her eyes turned more glassy and she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth before closing her eyes.

"I wasn't trying to be mean." I whispered.

Brooklyn nodded her head and sat up and leaned against the wall. She looked cold dressed in just the gown the clinic provided while covered in their thin blankets.

I offered her the pill once more and she looked down at it before her shaky fingers took it from mine. I picked up the glass of water and handed it to her and wated as she carefully took the pill.

"Do you want to go home?" Her head nodded instantly. I took my jacket off and handed it to her, because of the cords she placed it over the front of her body and laid back down. "I'll be right back."

After stepping out of the room I pulled my cell phone from my pocket and called my mom while walking down the hall to the doctor.

Once my mom answered she instantly asked me how Brooklyn was. "Is she eating? Talking? Do I need to come and see her?" I couldn't hold back my smile. She was always so protective over us.

"I think as long as somebody is with her she'll be alright. But she wants to go home so I'm going to talk to the doctor about that." I explained.

"But her apartment isn't set up." My mother tried to protest.

"Her bedroom is. The boys got her bed set up before they left that night remember?" I said and stopped before the open door of Dr. Uriel Jarvis' office.

"You're right. I'll grab some food then, I'll see you when you guys get there." She told ne then hung up the phone. I shook my head at her and put my phone in my pocket. I gave Dr. Jarvis a smile.

"What's up, Baliey?" He asked.

"Is it alright if I take my sister home? I think she would be more comfortable there." I told him and he nodded.

"I already told, Scott this. But he refused to move her."

"Probably because of the wolves lingering outside." He nodded his head with a sigh.

"I'll disconnect her, but I have to come back by with some more medication tommorrow for the silver, wolvesbane and oleander." He got up and walked past me and back towards my sister.

"What about the dimeranium?" I asked him.

"The effects of that will go away on their own." He said and we walked in. I went around him only to find my sister not on the bed.

"Where did she go?" He asked.

Brooklyn's POV

The ground felt wet and it was cold. Upon looking around I knew where I was, but how I ended up back here was a mystery all in itself.

I could hear him getting closer and as much as that should have scared me it didn't. I sat up slowly and slipped Bailey's jacket on my arms and scotted over to where the wall was and leaned against it.

I was so ready to go home, but the second Bailey walked out i was on the ground in this stupid cave.

I heard him growl and begin racing in here faster. His claws scrapped against the ground as he ran on all fours, he also towered menacingly over me the moment he spotted me.

"You never said how!?" I said looking up at his beast. There was blood on his teeth, like he just got back from killing an enemy.

He tilted his head to the side and looked at me oddly. "You said I died. You never told me how!" I whispered fidgeting with the gown I wore.

He growled low but it wasn't a harsh one, more like he was trying to forget it. The sound of cracking bones sounded then he sat next to me.

"You are in heat!" It was more of a statement rather than a question. I looked over at him and he looked really sad as he looked back at me.

"Yes.." I murmured then looked away. My side and my back still hurt and I was trying to ignore it.

"I didn't know you were from a different timeline. I said to much already." He said with a sigh, his hands balled into tights fists.

"Atleast tell me, does Ryan kill me?" I ask him and his eyes lock with mine. He seemed so entranced by my gaze, he lifted a hand and placed a hand on my cheek and on instinct I rested my cheek in his palm.

"Yes, but it's nothing you did. It was because of me." He told me and I looked down.

I rested my hand on his and went to ask him another question but he started to blur. He noticed I was dissapearing and quickly said; "Friends become enemies and enemies become friends. Remember that!"

I was now sitting back on the bed in the clinic, it was a little darker outside and I wondered how long I was gone this time.

I jumped when the crack of the door was heard. It was my brother Jordan, he closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. I knew that look all too well. He was relieved.

"How long was I gone this time?" I asked him and looked over at the window.

Jordan came over and sat down in the chair beside me I could tell he was a little uncomfortable being around me. "Just a couple hours. Where did you go this time?" He asked with a smile.

"Same place!" I told him and he looked at me a little worried.

"Did you get hurt?" I instantly shook my head.

"No, he finally realized I wasn't 'his Brooklyn' he knew I was in heat and put it together with his own timeline." I gave him a look and he nodded his head.

"Can you take me home?" I asked him.

"Well, since nobody is there and we haven't seen Scott since this afternoon I don't want you there alone." I gave him a sigh of defeat.

"I'll call Felicity!" He said dejectedly.

He helped me up and teleported me home. Before he left he notified me that because I was missing, no guards were outside my door but were on their way. Same with Felicity.
