Chapter Fourteen
Tristan POV
I pounded my fist on the desk, feeling my anger and frustration reach a boiling point. Natalie continued to resist, and my choices were dwindling. I had attempted all possible methods to persuade her to return to me, but she was adamantly refusing.
Right when I was going to call her once more, my phone rang. I grabbed it, prepared to release my anger on whoever was at the receiving end.
"Tristan, we require your presence at the company right away." The voice coming from the opposite side was icy and indifferent, causing a chill to run down my back.
My rage transformed into a freezing coldness. The board members. This was not ideal.
"What is that?" I snarled, my thoughts racing with the worst possible outcomes.
"We will talk about it once you arrive. Come over to the office immediately, please."
The call suddenly ended. I found myself gazing at my phone, filled with excitement as my heart beat rapidly. What trouble had I gotten into now?
I didn't want anything disturbing me other than Natalie and my son and how I was going to help her escape from that situation
I walked out of my office quickly, my thoughts moving rapidly.
"Take me to the company immediately!" I shouted at the driver.
I rushed towards the company headquarters, the city passing by in a blur of anger and fear. I was filled with a mix of emotions, my thoughts quickly running through worst-case situations.
What did I accomplish? How was I going to repair it?
The vehicle came to a sudden stop in front of the corporate office building. I jumped out, staring at the tall building ahead. I was aware that my world was on the verge of falling apart.
Natalie was right in the middle of everything in my life.
I entered the boardroom suddenly, filled with excitement. However, what I witnessed sent chills down my spine.
All individuals were sitting at the table with their hands raised in a gesture of surrender. And each of them had a gun pointed at them. I looked around the room, observing everything. And after that, he came into my view.
Era was sitting at the head of the table, his face breaking into a smirk. He had power and was fully aware of it.
"Tristan, guess who is standing, while I am seated.....oh how sarcastic," he muttered with dripping sarcasm in his voice. "Greetings from me and my crew."
I looked everywhere and noticed guns placed at the back of the board of directors.
I moved ahead, my gaze fixed on Orion. What is happening in this place?
He threw a document in my direction.
I stared up at Orion, my eyes filled with rage. I felt a sinking feeling in my heart when I realized what it was - the document for all my conglomerate companies.
"Do you believe that I will simply give up control of my entire empire?" Era requested that I transfer ownership to him by signing it.
"You're crazy."
My eyes blazed with anger as I gazed up at Orion. Era lifted his shoulders in a nonchalant manner.
"Do you believe I will easily give up my entire empire by signing away my rights that I possess? You must be crazy!"
"Natalie"
Era lifted his shoulders in a nonchalant manner. If you refuse to sign, I will ensure that she endures pain. I possess Natalie, you know."
Era had trapped me in a corner. I tried to come up with an escape plan as my thoughts raced. If I had not signed, Natalie would have to pay the consequences.
"I need some time to consider it," I hesitated, attempting to gain some time for myself.
Era chuckled. Era chuckled. "You are given a time frame of five minutes. If you fail to sign before then, Natalie will face the repercussions."
I was aware that I needed to act quickly.
Era was a man filled with psychopathic behavior and there was no telling what he was most likely capable of doing at this point.
I realized I was very swift with my decision.
"I am sorry Orion, I just can’t sign this stupid deal of yours." I said, dropping the paper on the ground.
"Very well then." Era gets up and claps his hands and all I could make in that moment was the sound of the gun going off on one of the board members.
"Are you going to sign it or should I drop another one?" He asked.
I stared at the lifeless director, his blood flooding the whole table already, while everyone else watched in horror.
"Time is ticking Tristan. You have these directors to save, Natalie your sweetheart and of course your beloved Son."
It was obvious he was enjoying this moment, as he sat across the table in comfort, while his gang had the guns to the directors head.
"Times up!" Era said, slamming his hand on the desk.
I watched as he grabbed his gun and right before my eyes, he shot every single one of the directors in the boardroom.
The scene before me was horrifying and I knew it was going to be stuck in my brain for a very long time.
"Why are you doing this Orion?" I asked, still trying to maintain my composure, despite the dead bodies on the floor.
"You took everything away from me Tristan, everything! You are going to watch everything crumble before your eyes. Sign the damn paper now or I will have Elvis executed!"
I looked up at him in disbelief, rage slowly taking over me. "You won't dare!" I said in a cold tone.
"For the record, Natalie is serving a jail term in California for what we created as a money laundering scheme in her name. Her child is in my custody and if you still don't believe me......"
I watched him pull a phone out of his pocket. He dialed a number and placed it on a loudspeaker.
"Give the child, let him speak." Era ordered.
I felt my heart shattered when I heard grumbles in the background and it was followed by Elvis's voice.
"Mommy? Where are you?" Elvis' voice was breaking.
"Please enough! I will sign it." I announced.
