Chapter 34

Cole POV

I stepped into the company at the strike of midnight fully aware that it was going to be a tough confrontation with Tristan.

The moment I pulled the door to my office open, I found Tristan sipping a cup of Hennessy with several documents on the table and a smile plastered across his face.

"You know I never thought you would have the balls to make a move, I give it to you. I never expected you to go for Jason, our lawyer." I commented, standing by the door.

"Our lawyer? Oh so you now choose words to use now? Jason deserves death. He was the brain behind your action and I figured it was perfect I ended him." Tristan said. I watch him hold a paper in his hand.

"Right here in my hand is the deed to the company. You asked for it, now I have brought it for you." I stared at him for a moment, wondering what he was up to.

"You must think I am a fool Tristan. I know your tricks and I know you won't be willing to sacrifice your last hope to secure the company from me easily. So what do you have hiding?" I asked.

"You killed Scorpion that night, almost had Leila killed as well but thank God she is responding to treatment. I have come this far to believe you are evil and deserve death." He pulled a gun from his pocket and aimed in my direction, while getting up to his feet.

"Is this all you have underneath? A piece of gun?" I asked, shaking my head in disappointment. "When will you ever learn Tristan? When will you ever understand that I will always be smarter than you and always be better than you." I took steps forward not minding his hands were placed tightly at the pull. "You want to shoot me? Go ahead. This is the best opportunity you will ever have. I am begging you to shoot me please." I said laughing.

"That's what I thought. You don't have the balls." In a matter of seconds I snatched the gun away from him and aimed at his head, but he already had a second gun pointed at me again.

"Impressive" I expressed. "I see you are learning fast." I dropped the gun to the floor.

"Tristan, I want you to hand over the deeds to me right now and we will call it a night " I said.

"Why would I? You have shown me that you are evil and I wouldn’t hand it over to you." He replied, still holding the gun tight.

"Very well then, you asked for it and I hope you wouldn't say I didn't warn you." I clapped my hands and the door opened revealing a familiar face with pretty eyes wet with tears.

"Natalie !" Tristan screamed, while staring at his wife.

"I always tell you that I have the upper hand, but you don't seem to listen every damn time. You have a gun that you cannot use because if you pull the trigger, she dies. So you lost Tristan again." I said walking confidently over to Natalie and grabbing her face.

"She is so pretty and I cannot still get enough of her beauty." I mentioned licking her cheeks and making sure to make Tristan even more angry.

"You have five seconds to give me the deeds or she dies." I said getting the gun from the boys and aiming at her.

"Five." I began.

"Four."

"Three."

"Two."

"Okay fine!" Tristan said, dropping the gun on the table and grabbing hold of the document. "You want the document, fine, have it." He said, throwing it towards my direction.

I walked towards the piece of paper, cautious about the gun he had dropped and picked it up. I stared at the content with admiration in my eyes. I finally secured the last puzzle of the box!

“You are such a fool to believe that I wasn't going to hurt her." I said, bashing the gun at the back of Natalie's head and making her go unconscious.

Tristan tries to pick up the gun, but I pull the trigger shooting him in the leg and causing him to drop it back to the floor again.

"I have always known you to be dumb Tristan." I said heading over to his direction and picking up the gun. "What you don't know is that I wasn't going to kill Natalie. I was going to make her my wife and make your son Elvis mine!"

"You won't dare!" He said through gritted teeth, trying to fight the pain away.

"I love to see this pain in your face, it gives me so much satisfaction." I said, grabbing his chin and staring at him. "It's all over for you."

Suddenly, he begins to laugh, catching me off guard. "What are you laughing at?" I asked.

"I really had you fooled." In a matter of seconds I heard a gunshot behind me and the room was suddenly filled up with numbers of gang members. I was surrounded and I noticed they all had the same tattoo, a familiar one. These were Scorpion's boys.

I tried to get my gun, but Tristan beat me to it, pointing it in my direction, while he forced himself back up to his feet. Scorpion's boys also had their guns aimed in my direction.

"Your time is up Cole. You have done enough harm to me and my loved ones." From my peripheral vision I watch as Natalie is carried off the body of my only ally in the room and taken out.

"You cannot shoot me!" I said looking around the room at their faces.

"It's too late." Tristan said.

I reverted to the last minute resort, breaking through the window and jumping off the tall building as it began to rain bullets.

I landed hard on top of a truck and broke through glasses. One of the bullets cut through my arms, but I didn't care. I needed to get out of this place.

After several tries, the truck would roar to life and just when I try to move, I realise I am surrounded by local police authorities.

"Hands over your head Mr. Cole !"
