Chapter 31

Natalie POV

We broke away from the moment feeling embarrassed the moment they realised they had been caught.

"Sorry to interrupt the moment, but I need to speak with the both of you." Scorpion said with a smirk on his face.

He stepped further into the room, grabbing a chair and making himself comfortable. He pulled out his phone. "I need you to listen to this." He said, directing his statement to Tristan.

They both paid close attention and soon realised the audio note playing was Felix 's voice. "I need to sign the deal with the mob family if we want to elevate this position that we are in. I have sat down long enough and watched Tristan be incompetent and now that he is out of the picture, there is no stopping me." He boasted.

I looked at Tristan who was listening, a look of shock on his face. "He is trying to ruin my company!" He stated.

"Exactly Tristan. Listen, I need you to understand that Felix is becoming a menace. I know he has grown powerful, but we need to stop him. We need to put him in his place before it's too late." Scorpion added.

"I appreciate you looking out for us Scorpion, but there is nothing I can do at this point. Felix has everything, the deed of partnership, the support of the government and everyone now believes that I am the evil person. The only people I have are Natalie and Elvis and I don't intend to lose my family."

I watched as Scorpion got up from his seat and began pacing around for a second. His head obviously wrapped around several thoughts.

"How about I tell you that if you don't do anything, that man is going to make sure that your family goes away too." I stared at him in disbelief.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"The person who recorded this also said that he has plans to make Natalie his. He has been obsessed with her over time and is determined to take her away from you. Tristan I don't know if you are quick to forget who you are? There was a time where you were powerful, you had the whole company at the grip of your hands. Felix coming out of prison was not foreseeable, but you can put an end to this madness!"

I couldn't think properly again, the thought of Felix being obsessed with me, caused my body to shiver in fear. I didn't want to be part of his scheme anymore. I just wanted to be loved and my son loved.

"So what do you propose we do?" Tristan asked

"Felix may have gained the support of everyone in the top offices and also in the underworld, but he hasn't gain my favour. I suggest we meet with an old friend, someone both of you are even familiar with."

Tristan and myself looked at each other for a moment and then it immediately clicked, the person he was talking about was Aria.

"How did you get Aria?" I asked.

"I didn't get her, she came to me and said she needed to confess everything she has done. She is no longer the evil girl you used to know Natalie. I know she has done a lot of things to you in the past, but now is not the time to reminisce. She is the only one that knows Felix very well so we need to use her as a bait if we truly want to succeed."

Tristan gets up from the bed, adjusting his loosened belt. I could see the look on his eyes and it was one that screamed revenge.

"I believe you have said it all. It's time to stop Felix and put an end to this madness. The company must not be corrupted by him and I am going to ensure that becomes the case."

Scorpion then turns to look at me. "I know Aria must still linger in your thoughts, but she has asked that you both talk privately."

"Where is she now?" I asked.

"She said I should meet with her at your father's house." I took everything he had said and processed them. What if this was all a set up? What if Aria was doing this to cause more harm to me?

"Listen Natalie, you don't need to worry about Aria. My men are constantly watching her movement and I can tell you they all say the same thing. Aria has changed."

I didn't need to listen more, I was curious to know what Aria wanted to say and I was going to meet with her.

In the cool of the evening my father's house remained the same old but desecrated environment. Long years of his verbal abuse still replayed in my head and although I didn't want too much about it, they were still thoughts that could not be left untouched.

"Good to see that you are okay sister." Aria's voice came through the moment I entered the room, creating a sense of nostalgic feelings of when we used to be best friends and siblings.
"What do you want Aria?" I asked, trying to be cautious.

"I know you still hate me, but I need you to listen; I slept with Felix and I know I ruined everything for you. Believe me if I could turn the hands of time, I will take back my act and pray the day never comes. Natalie I have come to realise who Felix is; he is an obsessed man who would stop at nothing to see that he gets his hands on power. All I ever wanted to say was sorry Natalie , I am sorry."


There were so many layers of emotions in her eyes that I could clearly see. I didn't want to come off as being snubish, nor did I have the guts to keep malice against her. I rushed towards her and would eventually engulf her in a warm hug.

"I forgive you sister."
