Chapter 52

Natalie POV

While heading towards Tristan's car, I couldn't rid myself of the sense that something was wrong. I felt a clear tension between us, believing Tristan 's calm demeanour was a cover for some jealousy. I chose to playfully tease him about it.

"I couldn't help but see a hint of envy in your eyes earlier, Tristan," I teased, a slight smile pulling at my lips.

Tristan 's expression stayed neutral, his tone distant and icy. "Natalie, you are mistaken." "I do not indulge in feelings of jealousy."

I arched my eyebrow, my playful demeanour faltering slightly. Tristan 's reply was painful, causing anger to well up in me. How can he refuse something that is so clear?

"Seriously, Tristan , it's time for you to get real," I snapped back impatiently. I noticed it in your gaze. There's no need to act fake. Feeling a bit jealous occasionally is alright.

Tristan 's jaw clenched, his voice getting colder. I promise you, Natalie, I have my emotions completely in check. Feeling jealous is pointless, and there is no justification for me to feel that way.

His words pierced me like a sharp knife, feeding my anger. I refrained from reacting impulsively, telling myself to remain calm. His emotional disconnection was evident, and my efforts to elicit a response felt pointless.

Upon our arrival at home, Tristan 's mother welcomed us warmly.

"Hey everyone, I need you to head to the mall and grab my things."

I looked at her with an expressionless face. Did she summon us for this specific reason? Surely there must be something more to it.

"Mother, is that everything?"

"Yes, I would have advised Tristan to do it, but you're aware of his tendencies." I'd send just you, but I don't want to burden you with all the responsibility. Tristan will help you.

There were screams echoing within me. There is a suspicious odour in this place. She is unable to contact me solely for assistance in picking up her supplies.

"I require this, feel free to select what's most suitable for me as well." She handed me a list, saying.

I glanced at Tristan, who had a vacant expression on his face. I believe this could be connected to his feelings of jealousy. He appeared to be without concern.

"Should we start moving?" Tristan inquires while looking at me.

"Of course," I say, with a forced smile on my face.

"Let's move."

We approached the car, keeping my gaze fixed on Tristan. I entered and observed as he started the engine with a roar.

"Is there an issue?" "An inquiry is made by Tristan."

"Oh no, I simply wish to inquire whether you have something to share with me."

"If I did, I would have informed you."

"Okay, that's acceptable."

Tristan heaved a deep breath, then proceeded to drive to the mall.

The task is to rephrase the given text in the source language while maintaining the word count.

The tension between us was noticeable while inside the mall. The quietness lingered oppressively, interrupted solely by the noise of footsteps and faint conversation. I sensed Tristan sneaking looks at me, his cautious eyes revealing the feelings he attempted to hide.

Trying to break the awkward silence, I let out a sigh before speaking. "Tristan , can we at least recognize what is going on here? We can't continue to overlook it.

Tristan paused briefly, his mask slightly slipping. Natalie, there is no need to recognize or acknowledge anything. Or would you be willing to clarify for me?

Anger boiled inside me, and I came to a halt, standing directly in front of Tristan . You cannot continue to act like everything is okay when it's obviously not.

"What are you trying to say?"

"Is it true that your mother phoned me?"

"Didn't you witness it personally?"

"She is unable to contact me about this..."

"Oh, so now you're challenging her behaviour?"

I breathed deeply, feeling the anger lessen a bit. I still have no idea why I bother. Tristan will forever remain as Tristan.

"Tristan, she phoned to purchase her supplies, correct?" "Let's hurry up and purchase them."

"What is the reason for your haste?"

"What is the reason for your concern?"

"Hello, you are my wife, right?"

I released a deep breath, attempting to avoid getting more irritated.

"Is it possible for us to simply go and acquire the necessary materials?"

"Of course, but you haven't mentioned the reason for your rush."

"I just require some rest, is that alright?"

Tristan gave a nod, his voice showing a hint of regret. "You will be fine." I have a bottle of pain relievers in my cabinet. "You are free to take some once you arrive home."

"I appreciate your care." I speak with a hint of sarcasm. I didn't anticipate Tristan saying that, but I'm not surprised he did.

While strolling through the busy mall, we unintentionally walked past the lingerie department. Both of us were hit with a wave of discomfort, but Tristan swiftly tried to hide his unease. I could feel his nervousness as he coughed and looked away.

However, Tristan 's attitude suddenly changed in a surprising way. He had a mischievous sparkle in his eyes while trying to elicit a response from me. His mouth formed a suggestive grin as he moved in closer, his words filled with insinuation.

"Do you realize, Natalie ," he murmured, his voice playfully alluring, "these delicate lacy undergarments could be very tempting, don't you agree? "Which option do you believe would be the most appropriate for you?"

I sensed a mix of embarrassment and irritation as my cheeks turned red. I noticed Tristan 's effort to unsettle me, but I wasn't going to allow him to gain the advantage. I managed to formulate a calm reply and didn't allow his words to shake my confidence.

"Not included in the list."

"What day is your birthday?"

What is the reason? "Do you want to buy me one?" I mentioned my sarcasm at its highest level.

"Some of it, but an improved version."

"The upcoming year."

"The truth is, it's just two days from now."

I stared in wide-eyed shock.

"By what means did you become aware?" Why are you inquiring if you are already aware of the answer?

"Sign the agreement, demonstrating your true deceitful nature."

"I am not that!"

Certainly, I am aware of all the thoughts that wander through your mind. I am aware that you desire to experience me. You are welcome to touch me now that you have the opportunity.
