Chapter Twenty One

Tristan POV

I walked out of the company feeling so exhausted and weak, Richard made sure that you finished all the work that I neglected for two weeks. He said that that's my punishment for ignoring him and the company. I risked everything to lift to this level because of a woman, but he's wrong cause she's not just a woman, she's my woman! Mine! And I don't know what I'll do if she ever leaves me cause where's home if not beside her. We had to even cancel the hangout we said we'd do after work hours cause I left work late cause I came late, this is the first time I'll be leaving the office by this time of the day, I decided to walk around the office and check the surroundings.

"What are you doing in that place?" I asked a young girl I saw working on the computer in front of her and I was surprised when she flinched in shock with so much innocence but I was still suspicious and wary of her. What could she be doing here by this time of the day even if she's a staff? Doesn't she have a home or something?

"Go... Go.. good evening, sir. I didn't know that you're still in the company sir" she stammered as she stood up with her head bow in respect.

"I clearly remembered that I asked you a question, young girl" I stated calmly with my cold gaze on her.

"I'm actually one of the employees that was just recruited this week sir" she said, showing me her ID card while biting her lips and moving uncomfortably on her feet looking so nervous and scared.

"I know! I know each and everyone that has worked and is still working in this company, I keep my tab on y'all" I lied not wanting to give her that impression that I'm not in charge of checking the employee's profiles, that's actually Richard's PA job not mine or his, "and I don't bite, so answer my question" I said calmly staring around the desk, trying to see if she's trying to copy something from the table but all I saw were files. They must be the files she's working on but she could have just kept the files in her drawer and continue it tomorrow.

"My superior told me to finish everything before I leave this company or else I'll be sacked, boss. Please, don't fire me, I have kids to take care of and I just got this job a few days ago" she pleaded desperately with tears rolling out of her eyes as she knelt down in front of me and I almost rolled my eyes.

"The normal time for staff closure is seven, and I made sure that the superiors were well informed of this fact. I don't know why she delayed you till this time, probably a punishment or something. Did you offend her?" I asked thoughtfully.

"No, boss. I didn't do such thing, she told me to go give Mr Richard a file and she specifically told me to give it to him personally but he was not in the office when I got there, so I waited for him till he got back and I left his office immediately I gave it to him, and she refused to believe that I was actually waiting for Mr Richard in his office, so she instructed me to type this file and save them on the computer before tomorrow morning" she said sadly and my heart reached out to her in pity, I stared at her not knowing what to say.

"Bring the files outside and let me see what you're working on" I muttered as I walked back to the front of the company where she joined me outside after a few minutes.

"This is the file, boss," she muttered, handing the file in her hands to me.

"What!" I shrinked in shock and disbelief as I glanced through and she was working diligently and tirelessly on.

"What's wrong, boss?" She asked, staring at me and the file in my hand respectively.

"This file you're working on ain't needed anymore, it was used for a seminar I went for last year, you know what just go in there get your stuff and meet with my driver to take you home" I told her patting her shoulder carefully but I made sure that there was enough space in between the both of us so that anyone passing by won't get the wrong idea.

"Thanks sir" she giggled as she ran into the company to get her stuff while I entered one of the cars I brought to work after ordering the driver to wait and carry that girl home, thinking that I didn't ask her for her name.

The work was better than usual because I started building another branch secretly. I realised that this company has a lot of enemies that are trying to bring it down at all cost, so I decided to build a branch and control it anonymously. The company has been built and what's left is just furnishing and decorating it with designs. No one in the company or anywhere knows about this new project except for Richard. He's the one that brought the idea, he suggested that we should build another branch that would be involved in other stuff, not just the usual business we do. I decided to go selling and buying automobiles, I requested a loan to run the business and it has been approved and the goods have been bought. All that's left to settle is the company, it would have been completed but I had to ignore it for a while during that pandemic my company faced.

Even though I stopped building the company, I was still selling my cars online with an anonymous and legit app that I created for the business. It's so surprising that a lot of people decided to patronise me and I'm actually thinking of using the company for something else cause it seem like the online method is going smoothly and well but I can't seem to think of what else to do with that company that'll generate more money than this automobile does, cause the least amount I've ever made per day is three hundred and fifty five million dollars.
