Chapter 50
Natalie POV
I looked crestfallen. Maybe he simply despises me and will never reveal his kind side until our contract is over.
As we navigated through the crowded streets, time appeared to blend together, making it difficult to track our progress amidst the busy traffic. In spite of being in a hurry, Tristan's driving abilities were effective, and we made it to the meeting location right on schedule.
As we got out of the car, Tristan looked at me, his expression becoming a bit gentler. "Let's go," he declared, his voice no longer cold like before. "Ensure that you concentrate on creating a powerful impact."
I gave a nod. Together, we arrived at the meeting location, prepared to confront the hurdles awaiting us. On the contrary, Tristan appears calm.
Upon entering the meeting space, a sense of excitement filled the air. The CEO's business partner, a distinguished individual with a keen eye for potential opportunities, welcomed us. For a moment, he looked at me with evident interest before shifting his focus to Tristan.
"Tristan, you always arrive on time for meetings." "What's the matter?" asked the business partner with a friendly tone.
I was surprised, my eyes growing wide. Are you running behind schedule? I believed he mentioned that he changed the time. Was he dishonest?
"Just a few minor delays."
The man nodded in a slow manner before directing his gaze towards me. It hung around for some time before he eventually inquired.
"And who is this delightful woman that is with you?"
"The woman you have desired to meet... This is my spouse."
"Pleased to make your acquaintance, sir, I am Ayla."
"Tristan, you have such great taste!"
I witnessed Tristan slightly loosen his tie before focusing his gaze on the window. Is he turning red in the face?
Are you knowledgeable on Wedding gowns?
"I'm quite knowledgeable, sir, as I am a fashion designer."
"Is that so? Under which company are you employed?
"Oh! I am sorry, I don't think I have any right now, I am trying to make them."
Could you please refer to me as David? Are you still employed in that field? You have Tristan as your spouse, if you were not aware.
She desired to acclimate to married life before focusing on her career. Tristan entered quickly.
I slowly nodded, then gave a simple fake smile.
"Wow, they are a real power duo," he observed with a touch of admiration in his tone. "I have to admit, Tristan, you've really left a mark." I've heard great things about your work, and seeing you with your wife further strengthens my belief in our potential partnership.
I felt a wave of relief when the business partner showed his excitement. Tristan had put in a lot of effort to finalize this agreement, and his hard work was producing results. The business partner escorted us to the meeting room, initiating serious discussions. I sat on the side, frequently drifting off in thought. Meetings tend to be dull.
During the meeting, Tristan's charm and business skills were evident. Confidently, he shared his ideas and strategies, handling concerns effectively and making a compelling case for cooperation. The business partner appeared to be enthralled by his words, agreeing with him and occasionally providing his own thoughts.
Before we knew it, time had quickly passed and the meeting had ended successfully. The business partner reached out to Tristan, confirming the deal with a strong handshake.
"I'm convinced, Tristan," he said with a smile. I am excited to collaborate with you and your wife on this project. We have many things to achieve together.
Is she your spouse? What should I do?
Tristan nodded, his expression filled with contentment. This marked a notable achievement for our company, as we had surpassed expectations. Leaving the meeting room, Tristan looked at me with a blend of pride and relief in his eyes.
"Your initial section has been reviewed."
"What was David trying to convey by collaborating with you and your spouse?"
"Ayla, you succeeded in breaking through his icy heart." He always refused to be addressed by his name by others.
"Is that true?" However, he appeared very friendly. "Was I successful?"
"Let's just say you have the ability to touch cold hearts."
He quickened his speed, leaving me trailing in his wake.
His words left me feeling overwhelmed with confusion. Even though the tension and teasing from before were no longer a focus as we enjoyed our success, Tristan appeared unchanged. There is little happiness reflected in his facial expressions.
"Hold on... is that everything?" I inquire about his well-being after meeting up with him.
Beside the boutique...
"What is the reason?"
"There is a party with a ball happening this evening."
"Ah."
We arrived in front of an upscale boutique. I was eager to get out, so I exited the car before Tristan could stop it.
The upscale boutique was filled with expectation as gentle music surrounded the area. Entering the sophisticated area, my attention was captivated by the line of beautiful dresses shining brightly under the chandeliers. I felt a rush of excitement in my heart as I set out to search for the ideal dress for a special event.
As I looked through the shelves, I couldn't miss seeing Tristan by the door. He stood casually by a column with his hands in his pockets, looking uninterested in the dresses around him.
I felt a sense of irritation I knew well when I saw his usual lack of emotion, a facade he maintained even when he genuinely felt something.
I collected some dresses and headed to the dressing rooms. Tristan 's eyes tracked me, his face showing a detached look that suggested no emotion.
"Don't overthink it, I'm not into you, remember?" My heart was sliced in half. However, this time the pain was not as intense as before. I am aware that he did not intend to do it. I stepped into a room, meticulously arranging the gowns, feeling a blend of thrill and letdown.
