Chapter 33

Cole POV

When I arrived at Jason's apartment, the weather had become warm once more and I helped Jason turn on the air conditioner, while heading to his room.

Jason was an adept reader that hates being disturbed, but I needed his help, if I ever wanted to get the deeds.

Upon stepping into his room, there was no sign of Jason. The tables were littered with books. Typical of him to always be unorganised.

While I went down to get the pillows, I noticed something unfamiliar. I looked to see Jason slippers at the front of his bathroom. Jason never leaves these things in the bathroom before, so what was going on?

I made my way slowly to the door of the bathroom, where I leaned closer to get a grasp of what was happening.

The shower was running and it appeared that someone was having their bath. The moment I opened the door, I gasped in disbelief at the scene of horror displaying itself right before my eyes.

I was staring at the lifeless body of Jason, who appeared to have been drowned in the bathtub by someone.

I was confused; I didn't know what to do, I looked around for anything or any clue, when my eyes came across a letter that had been placed right at the mirror and whoever had done such an act, it was intended to be a message to him.

'You are late. I am always a step ahead. Meet me at the office, if you want the deeds.' The letter had said.

I didn't need any soothsayer telling me who was behind this act. Tristan s had crossed the line and I was ready to put an end to the madness.

I moved to his wardrobes, where the Articles and Memorandum documents had been kept by Jason, but found them missing.

Well played Tristan’s .....

He really made a bold move after all, but it was certainly going to be one he would regret doing.

I rushed out of the bathroom and carried my phone from the bed, searching through for back up.

"Hello boss" One of the gang leaders.

"I need backup at the company. I have unfinished business to deal with" I said and hung up immediately.

If Tristan s has fully thrown away his act of cowardice, then I am ready to put an end to him and his family.

**

Hours later, I arrived at Mr. Wong's house knowing well he was going to be around. We had not spoken since the last time he refused to sign the deal because of the deeds, but I knew that was not the time for protocols.

Once I was ushered into his living room, he was seated on the couch watching reality shows with his family.

"Good to see you, my dear friend. I have been meaning to ask why you haven't even reached out to me." Mr. Wong asked, his accent coming to the surface.

"We need to talk business Mr. Wong and it's really important." He spoke in Chinese to his wife and the latter would get the kids out of the living room, making sure we are left alone.

"I am all ears." He said, paying close attention.

"It's about the deal." I said. "I want you to sign the agreement now." I demanded authoritatively.

"Is this some sort of joke or what? You come into my house and bark orders at me? You are lucky I have low temper else I would ask my security men to throw you out of my premises."

I was already fed up with his constant nagging, when I pulled my silent revolver out of my pocket, much to his dismay.

"You will sign that document for me!" I barked. "This piece here is a silent revolver, I will shoot you and your family and escape without your security guard knowing. You are so dumb to have made your house soundproof." I said, shaking my head.

"Cole, you are going beyond your limit. You are obsessed with this deal that it could be the end of you. I can't sign these papers...."

I pulled the trigger, blowing his brain off.

I looked around the living room and I was glad there was no CCTV footage. I needed to find a document and lay hold of it immediately.

Getting up from the couch, I placed his body in a sleeping position making sure the security did not suspect foul play and silently moved up the stairs.

Upon reaching his room, I found his wife and child playing and didn't hesitate to pull the trigger on them as well.

There were several documents littered on the table, but I knew the one I wanted and picked it up and stepped out of the room, which was already flowing with blood.

As I made my way downstairs I realised I needed his handprint on the documents to forge the signature, without the authorities suspecting a foul play.

I made my way back to his lifeless body and cleaned up his thumb, imprinting it on the paper and folding it up my sleeves.

Once I was done, I made my way out of the living room to find the security guards watching over the premises.

"You are doing a good job boys." I complimented and stepped into my vehicle. I noticed one of the guards was headed for the living room and I turned on the ignition of the car, accelerating before he could come out.

The moment I was out of the gate, I picked up my phone once again, ringing the boys, hoping they were already stationed at the company.

"We are there sir." One of the boys spoke through the phone.

"Good, I needed to take care of business first. I will be there in a few minutes." Once I hung up, I had a smile on my face knowing it was all but over for Tristan’s.

"You have chosen death, and I am going to bring it to your doorstep." I voiced my thoughts.
