Chapter Seven

Natalie POV

My mind was completely lost to the new surroundings I found myself, the moment my eyes became wide open.

I couldn't remember anything, other than the fact that Tristan and myself had done a wedding ceremony.

Where was I? This was certainly not the matrimonial home Tristan had shown me.

As I raised my back up, I felt a very sharp pain through the back of my head and this made me curse in a low tone.

Why did I feel such pain? I tried to remember anything that had led to the pain, but there was none in my mind.

The door opens and Tristan walks into the room dressed up in his usual Armani suit. He took a quick glance at me and broke them away, walking towards the window.

"I see you had a good sleep." He said, splitting the curtains apart. "How do you feel?" He asked, turning his gaze to meet mine.

"I don't know what is wrong with me. It feels like I had just woken up from a very long sleep." I watched him pour water into a glass and handed it over to me.

"I don't even remember anything from the wedding." I mentioned.

I watched his expression remain the same. He was usually known for his stoic looks. "I guess you bashed your head against the kitchen walls." He mentioned with a shrug.

I wasn't comfortable with the explanation. I didn't slam my head against the wall, I knew and felt something odd had happened to me.

Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months and Tristan could barely speak with me, after our marriage.

Not that I cared, I was just surprised to see how less of a talker he is.

Also, he was fond of leaving for his business trips, which apparently came unannounced. I was beginning to feel that loneliness within.

Our honeymoon wasn't all the fun, it was filled with lack of communication, and a lot more about his absence.

However on this day, Tristan would step into the house with a briefcase in hands.

"Go get dressed, you and I are going on a date." He proclaimed.

For a moment I was confused. I didn't know him to be one who fancies dates. However, I followed his instructions.

Upon stepping out of the house, Tristan simply raised an eyebrow, throwing me into anxiety as to whether or not my dress was a good one.

What I believe to be a casual date would take a swerve, as Tristan would park his car at a strange office.

"Where is this place?" I asked.

"I have unfinished business here. Once I am done, we will go on the date." He steps out of the car.

"What are you even saying? I am tired of all of this." I mentioned stepping out of the car as well. "I am tired of you making everything seem like yours. We are married and you should take your responsibility as a husband seriously!"

He simply stared at me for a moment. He walked towards my direction, extended his hands and I took it.

"Fine, let's go inside. However, your lips must be sealed." His warning came sternly.

**

The moment the door opened, a much familiar face was seated by the couch with a huge pack of cigar on the table.

"Tristan ! What a pleasure to meet you again." I had a scowl on my face seeing him and he instantly knew it, the moment he saw Lenore behind me.

"Who is this meaty skank beside you?" I heard an audible gasp from Lenore .

"Don't you ever call her that. Let's get down to business shall we?" I didn't need to ask how he had gotten into the office. There was only one person other than myself that had access to the second door and that was Romeo.

"Are you sure we can do business in front of your girl?" Romeo asked, staring at me intently.

"You know what to do..." I said, turning to look at Lenore . She was still clearly shaken by the presence of Romeo

"Alright then." He leaned forward to grab a cigar and handed me one, but I refused. I didn't want to smoke in front of her.

"My products haven't been delivered, I want to know why this is happening?" I hated that he would bring off a topic we already discussed before, especially to my office!

"What more do you need to understand in this situation Romeo? I am trying to deal with the embassy. Paul Simon and Jason Reeds aren't being loyal these days. It's almost like they think I am not paying their dues properly." I said, getting exhausted already from this stupid conversation.

"And you want me to believe you?" Romeo asked.

"Believe all you want Romeo, but your products don't come till the end of the month." I tried to assure.

I watched as Romeo got up from his seat, playing with a cigar in his hand and slowly making his way to my direction. I looked to see Lenore was still in her panic mode as she watched the man come towards me.

"Listen Tristan . You and I have been close friends for six years now and I don't want our partnership to be ruined. I have had so much patience with you and I don't want it to be exhausting. I am giving you only three days to deliver my product." Our stare was intense before he would break it off and walk towards the door with his men.

"Oh and by the way," he said, pausing in his tracks. "If you don't do what I have asked of you Tristan , I think you would pay heavily and I would start with pounding your girl over there." The pervert look in his eyes says it all.

"Romeo!" I called. "Now you listen to me, son of a bitch. At this point, I think I have nothing to lose. I want you to assess this situation critically and hear everything I am about to tell you." I walked slowly to meet him.

"The actual reason why your products aren't here yet is because I purposely wanted to make sure you come and meet me for it. Now that you are here, I don't think you should leave really early." I observed him as he looked at his soldiers for a moment and then shrugged.

"Fine, why did you not send them yet?"

"You know what you did Romeo. Did you really think I wasn't going to find out? I am Tristan the owner of multiple corporations and in these corporations I have held several money for the government, your senators, several arms dealers and much more. Do you really think I wouldn't get the information I need?" I asked, trying to calm my nerves.

One of his soldiers had placed his hands on his gun, while I was merely inches away from his boss

"I heard your affiliation with the skull gang leaders and you know my policy. I don't do underground work with gangs and you went behind me to have them arrange girls to be trafficked?" I heard gasps again from Lenore , who most likely had heard too much for today.

"And now, this is where I cross the line and tell you what I need to say to your face," i adjusted my suit. "Romeo, fuck your entire enterprise, I don't think we can deal again." After a long stare down, he spit on my face and several guns would began coming out, both from his men and mine

"You are just too strict Tristan , I hate your fucking policy that's why I had to resort to the dark side you bastard!"
