Chapter 14 Call again after a year

"Honey, stop it, kissing like that makes me too itchy."
Damon was kissing me all over my face and I couldn't stand reaching up and trying to slap his face away.
Damon laughed and dodged my attack, and suddenly his face turned into Jenny's.
I didn't understand why the two of them would overlap until I heard what Jenny said.
"Let's see who's dreaming of her favorite man?"
"What?! When did I fall asleep?"
I opened my eyes and looked in surprise at Jenny, who was looking at me with a smile on her face and a peacock feather in her hand.
I think the reason I felt the itch earlier was this peacock feather.
So I was just dreaming about Damon!
"I've been watching you here for a long time, I think you've been dreaming about Damon and calling his name all the time, I didn't realize you liked him so much."
The fact that I would dream of Damon and kiss him in my dream was enough to make me feel shy.
I didn't think Jenny would be around to watch me for so long.
I grabbed the quilt and pulled it over my head, and I could feel now that if I were given an egg to put on my face, the egg would be able to cook in a minute.
"I'm not, you must be lying to me."
I refuse to admit that I did have some thoughts about Damon.
All of these thoughts, as decided, were a consequence of not having sex with a man for too long and not being able to release normal physical desires for too long.
"How long has it been since you broke up with your ex-boyfriend?"
Jenny turned to a different topic.
"About one year."
I thought about the trashy guy who pretended to be a gentleman in front of me, but behind the scenes was in a relationship with four girls at the same time, and we'd been apart for a year.
"That's right, I think you can agree to Damon's deal."
"You've known that Damon is a very good man from his stature to his abilities, and he's able to give you a large sum of money."
Jenny started trying again to convince me to say yes to Damon.
For a moment I thought actually Jenny and Damon were good friends.
I pulled down the covers to reveal my eyes, staring intently at Jenny, and I realized she was serious.
"I think being a stripper has been close to my bottom line."
"If you say yes to him, you can quit your job as a stripper so you don't have to worry about being recognized."
"What s more important, women need sex, and having enough fertilizer makes the flowers bloom more lusciously, don't you think so, darling?"
Okay, I had to admit, I was almost about to be convinced by these reasons from Jenny.
Especially since I could quit my job as a stripper, which was more than just a reduced risk of exposure for me.
It would also allow me to spend more time studying and spending time with Eric.
"Let me think about it, after all, we've only met him twice haven't we?"
Sleep after a long and tiring day was a great blessing, and I felt like I had finally come back to life after good rest. I stretched out under the quilt and got a relax again.
"Okay, so while you were asleep, Julia called you twice and I woke up to the ringing phone and realized you were still asleep, so I didn't wake you up."
Jenny carried my phone and shook it in front of my face as I frowned at the missed calls on the screen.
Julia is my mother, and we haven't had contact for a year since I left home.
It's not that I didn t love my mother, or was cruelhearted, I just...
I just didn t know how to face her and my father.
Their failed marriage and disregard for life were too much for me, and I had been avoiding contact with my parents throughout the year. I'd also been filling all my time with study and work so that I had an excuse not to think about these issues.
But all of this was slowly coming to the surface with the impending marriage of my sister, and it's clear that there's no hiding from it now.
As my mind was pondering how I was going to deal with the sudden phone call from my mother, her profile started flashing on my phone again.
I felt a headache and rubbed my forehead very helplessly, still answering the phone.
"Mom, you promised me to keep calm when talking to Selena. Look, she's answering the phone, I told you she must have been too busy to answer it just now."
I heard Sophie's admonition to my mother on the other side, and then I heard her familiar and somewhat strange voice.
"Selena, it's your little sister's wedding in a month and you need to come back for it."
My mother's voice trembled a little when her otherwise somewhat shrill tones covered, probably because she hadn't spoken to me in too long, so she felt a little nervous and excited.
Suddenly hearing her voice made a lot of tears suddenly well up among my eyes, but I quickly pushed them back down.
I took a deep breath and tried to keep my voice from sounding shaky before I said, "Let me think about it."
I was really not making a good decision.
Although my mother had already initiated the call today, I still wasn't ready to go back to that cold home.
"Sophie is your sister, you have to come back for her wedding or we will be laughed at by all our friends and family, you can't let your sister's wedding be the laughing stock of others."
When my mother said the last sentence, it could almost be described as a roar, and I held the phone a small arm's length away from my ear and could still feel the shrill sound running through my entire skull.
At the same time I saw Jenny, who was sitting opposite me, giving me a reassuring gesture, signaling for me to calm down and not answer against my will out of anger.
I sighed, sure enough even after not seeing each other for a year, my mother still hadn't changed at all and she would start her angry hissy fit whenever I didn't agree to her demands.
"If that's all you're asking, I think you can hang up now."
I heard Sophie and my mother talking on the other side, Sophie trying to persuade my mother again in an almost pleading voice, hoping she could calm down and communicate with me properly.
Apparently Sophie's pleading wasn't having any effect.
"You must attend, and your father has come to an agreement with that, too, or you will never return to this home."
"Mom, you must calm down, let me talk to Selena"
Sophie probably thought her mother couldn't calm down, and her voice came over the receiver, supposedly taking the phone from her.
"Selena, I really really want you to come to my wedding, please, or I'll feel sorry for the rest of my life."
By the end of the call, Sophie was pleading with me almost in tears.
