Chapter 33 - Successful Negotiations
"Selena you have to understand that the honor of our family cannot be insulted, if the others knew that you left home because of an adopted child, we would be the laughing stock of the entire upper class circle!"
When my mother saw that I didn't say anything, she became emotional, and her expression was very grim, as if I existed only for the sake of the family honor, and now I was coming home only so that the family wouldn't be laughed at.
"Wouldn't abandoning your own son be laughed at by the upper class circles?"
My voice almost tore as I vented my anger, and these yells did not even come close to venting the anger in my heart.
I didn't want to disappoint Sophie, but at the same time I couldn't tolerate my parents' contempt for life.
"Everyone will know that Eric is suffering from an incurable disease, and it is wise to give up an adopted son who is dying." The father's voice was cold, without the slightest fluctuation of emotion, as if Eric was like an object that could be discarded at any time.
"If you behave yourself and come home this time, I can let go of your previous capricious behavior of running away from home."
I saw my father sitting upright on the sofa, still majestic, examining me as he usually did the servants, and there was even a lot of pity in his tone.
I took out my phone and laughed out loud, getting madder and madder.
I could see the surprised look in my parents' eyes at my crazy appearance, and I stopped laughing and shook the phone in my hand at them.
I pressed the play button and what my father had just said about abandoning Eric reverberated throughout the room.
My father's face gradually changed from calm to angry, while my mother came up and tried to grab the recording from my hand.
I dodged my mother and said to them, "As long as Eric can attend the wedding, I'll delete this recording after the wedding."
My mother tried to say something else, and my father stopped her with a sigh.
"Well, you can take him there."
"He will only be able to stay in his room, and I will allow him to watch the wedding downstairs through the glass window, but not to come out and be seen by any of the guests."
"I will keep him in his room."
Although the tactic of secret recording made me feel disgusted, I have to say it worked.
"Then, pack your bags and I'll have the driver come pick you up and take you home."
My father stood up and made his final conclusion.
I nodded, signaling that I didn't have its requirements to add.
Finally my mother walked out of the room holding my father's hand, and before she did, my father used his cane to viciously pick away at my boots that I had dropped on the floor.
They closed the door hard, and I looked at the decorative paintings shaking on the wall, imagining the anger of both of them.
But who wouldn't be angry?
"My God, Jenny, I can't believe you didn't tell me they were coming to the apartment."
I felt my parents had walked away, slumped on the couch like I'd lost all strength, and grumbled to Jenny.
"If I had told you in advance you wouldn't have come home, you know I can't deal with your parents."
Jenny shrugged and handed me a glass of milk so I could lighten my mood.
Milk was my best calming agent when my emotions were out of control, and Jenny Hand always remembered this habit of mine.
I finished all the milk in the glass in one gulp and felt as if I had regained some strength.
Although I was angry at my parents for making a surprise visit and insulting Eric in front of me, negotiating with them to get me the opportunity to take Eric to the wedding was a very important thing.
This would be my first priority to lead Eric back into the family.
Now, the anger needed to be released, and I desperately needed to find a way to let it out.
Yes, I needed Damon!
I jumped up from the couch, pulled out my cell phone and dialed Damon's number eagerly until I heard Damon's familiar voice come out of the receiver.
"Damon, I need you!"
"Damon, I need you desperately now, do you have time tonight?"
The phone just rang and Damon picked up, I unconsciously twirled my blonde hair around myself trying to ease my nervousness.
"There's time." Damon's voice was still very sexy, as it had been before.
"I want to have a passionate sparring session with you." I expressed my desire in no uncertain terms.
"Where are you now, I'll pick you up. Give me half an hour to take care of work before then." Damon seemed to be in a good mood and didn't refuse my invitation.
I told Damon the address of a nearby mall and told him to pick me up there.
Before that, I had to break the news to Eric that she could attend Sophie's wedding.
"Oh my God, Selena you didn't lie to me? I can't believe my ears, Mom and Dad really promised you that Eric could attend my wedding?"
Sophie screamed loudly on the other end of the phone and I could hear her excitement in her voice.
"Yes, you heard me right, they did promise that I could bring Eric along to your wedding."
"Sophie, I'll have my driver take me and Eric home tomorrow."
"Yes, I will have a room ready for you, it must be next to my room, if it wasn't for the wedding, I would be staying in the same room as you and we would be talking all night."
After hanging up the phone, I started to match the right outfit in my closet, one that would arouse Damon's passion.
"What are you going to do?"
Jenny stood by the door at some point and looked at me curiously.
"Jenny, I'm very angry and at the same time I'm very excited, I'm conflicted and I need to release my emotions."
I stopped rummaging through my clothes and I waved my hands in a way that indicated a huge mood swing toward Jenny.
"Are you going after Damon?"
Jenny leaned against the doorframe, her arms crossed over her chest, her expression filled with "I knew it".
I was holding two pieces of clothing in my hand and replacing them back and forth, "Yes, help me pick out a dress."
Since we are only in a physical relationship, being a sexual partner is to help me release my emotional turmoil, and this is a regulation that needs to be included in our contract.
In the meantime, I needed to formalize our contract today.
Jenny rolled her eyes, obviously very uncomprehending of me, but her body was still honest enough to walk over to the closet and help me pick out my clothes.
"If I were you, I wouldn't pick those two dresses, they look mediocre."
Jenny was very dissatisfied with the two dresses I picked out of my hands and snatched them from my hands and threw them on the bed.
"Try this one."
She yanked a plain white dress out of the closet and handed it to me.
"Would this one be too cute, it's not really my style."
I looked at the dress Jenny handed over, not particularly agreeing with her choice.
"Every time he sees you in something really sexy, give him something different today."
I have to say that Jenny's words convinced me that maybe this time it would be different.
I followed Jenny's advice and wore this dress adorned with bows everywhere, in addition to a light makeup, soft pink lipstick, which set off the sunny energy of my 19-year-old girl.
"It's a shame Damon can't see this stunning face."
