You're bad for my health

There was nothing to say for a moment. His eyes made my breathing jump from their intensity. My heart both sank and pounded as Roman suddenly got to his feet with a malicious glint in his eyes. I leapt and took refuge near the door. He was just so seductive without putting much effort into it. There was certainly more to Roman than just anger issues.
"Stop," I whispered breathlessly. "Keep away from me. Or else..."
"That sounds like a dare." he craned his neck to the side to better study me. "You shouldn't have said that. It was a silly thing to utter. I never resist a dare."
"Just back off." I shook my head, scared and thrilled all at once. "You're a sorry excuse of a man. How could you?"
He stopped, puzzled. "What?"
"You think I don't know what you just did?" I demanded with frustration. "You're such a jerk. Here I was starting to believe that you're an honorable man. As if it wasn't enough to feed off me, you had to bewitch me as well?"
A questioning look masked his face and he frowned at me. "I... did what?"
"Sell innocent elsewhere. You know exactly what I mean. You aren't human...right?" My voice was rising with hysteria and my hands were moving along with my words. I was vaguely aware that I looked mentally challenged. "You... y-you got in my head. You do it all the time. You're doing it now. Controlling me. Making me feel... staff."
His face was so blank with momentary bewilderment that I almost believed that he honestly had no clue what I was talking about. "What in the hell are you on about, kid?"
My heart pounded faster. I frowned. Had he no idea?
And then his face began to clear as immediately understanding dawned on him. He grinned mischievously.
"What are you smiling about? Huh? You think manipulating women with your supernatural powers is cool? You're a vampire?!"
He pinched the bridge of his nose. "I promise... I didn't do any sort of manipulation. And believe me, vampires don’t exist, I’ve lived long enough that I would’ve come across one by now."
I inhaled deeply. I was horrified he smelled so good to me. I could hear the blood rushing to my head. My knees turned into jelly. There was also a constant fluttering in my stomach.
"You lie!" I mumbled breathlessly.
"I'm actually not really bothered whether you believe me or not, but I am deeply interested in the fact that you desire me."
"I... I do not."
"Hmm," he moaned. "Right."
"I swear." My voice was so unconvincing. I wondered if I was about to have a heart attack. I'd never met a man with such a commanding, lethal presence. He sighed and sat back down. It was quiet for a long time as I steadied myself.
"Why did you choose Rose?"
"I'm Juliet from today."
"You changed your name?"
"Yeah." I glanced at the clock on the wall. "It's time for me to go home."
His gaze met mine then. The air shifted suddenly. Everything faded into the background. We were wrapped in this tiny small bubble.
My hand moved towards him without my permission. Just to touch his cheek, to feel his skin under my fingertips, it'd only take a second. I reasoned with myself. Would he be repulsed if I touched him? Would he yank my hand away? Cringe away from me?
Would I be able to handle it if he rejected my advances? No. No, I wouldn't and so I pulled my hand back and sat on top of it to make sure that this wouldn't repeat itself. I couldn't afford to entertain this one sided desire. He didn't see past my age.
He cleared his throat and released me from the trap of his gaze. "I'll see you tonight then."
"It's my last time here." I tried to hide my disappointment. "It was for six weeks, remember?"
"Hmm..."
"This is the last Saturday."
His face was emotionless and I suspected he wasn't even listening anymore. With one last look at him I walked towards the front door. I couldn't feel anything below the neck. My heart sank to my stomach.
"Hey wait..." I heard his deep voice call after me.
Roman ran to catch up with me and came to a sudden stop directly in front of me.
"Did you want something?"
As I watched, his frozen eyes melted. "Can I drive you home today?"
"Uh..." I realized I was on the verge of having a heart attack, right there, in front of the guy who had managed to creep into my head so that he'd be the last thing I thought about before bed and the first thing in the morning.
He raised his eyebrows in concern and his eyes swept curiously over me with that unfamiliar glint.
"Nuru, are you okay?"
"Just great," I said, my voice sour. The only place he was taking me, if his eyes continued to melt my heart, was the morgue.
He took a cigarette and placed it in the corner of his mouth.
I raised a suspicious eyebrow. "You smoke?"
"Not really." he smirked, "But I bet you do."
"It's bad for your health," I told him and my voice, unintentional, was stern, motherly.
"And so are you."
