Chapter 16 - The Brave Woman of Thregonad

All the Thregonad people fell silent; even the pirates and their Captain. Dareon firmly took a firm hold of Shelyca while waiting for the response of Captain Droo.

Captain Droo suddenly faced the woman who was brave enough to offer herself to him. With squinting eyes, he took hold of her chin and asked, “How brave were you to say that you will make me happy, that no other woman can do it for me? Tell me, how can you do so? I am a very discontented man and I never ever get enough of anything; what more to be happy with just a woman like you?”

“You can insult me Captain but I can assure you, I can make you happy,” proudly the woman said. She even held her chin up and looked directly into the eyes of Captain Droo.

Captain Droo gave out a smirk. “And how? May I know, brave and proud woman?” he asked while slowly touching his mouth into her, trying to scare her.

But the woman never got scared. She even crushed her lips into his and gave him a deep kiss.

Captain Droo was stunned as to how brave this woman is. She might not be as beautiful as the wife of Chieftain Dareon but she has that appealing and fresh look that warms his heart and secretly made him smile. He however gave her once more that fierce and squinting look, trying to frighten her but she never bats an eye. Her confidence is still lingering in her.

“I am giving you few seconds to change your mind woman.” The Pirates’ Captain whispered but the Thregonad woman just smiled in reply and shook her head.

“Alright Chieftain Dareon, I will take this woman with me but don’t blame me if you will see this woman floating into the ocean if I became pissed off with her.” Captain Droo said aloud.

“Then war will start between us Captain Droo. If you will not be happy with her, just gave her back to us.” Dareon said with fire in his eyes.

Captain Droo’s laughter once more filled the air. He made strides direct to the Chieftain of the Thregonad people and extended his hand to him. “Our truce of allegiance started today Chieftain Dareon,” he said as he got his dagger in its case safely tucked beside his lower waist beside his gun. He slit the center of his hand by such dagger and then gave such dagger to the Thregonad Chieftain. Dareon accepted the dagger and did the same.

As both their hands were bleeding they did their handshakes, mixing their blood with each other. The blood compact was done and the alliance between all Pirates and the Thregonad People has been sealed.

“Alright people, it is time to bid goodbye for now. See you again.” Captain Droo waved his hand and then grabbed the arm of the brave Thregonad woman; his gift in lieu of the truce for allegiance with the Thregonad people.

“Wait!” a woman’s shout echoed into the air. From the side of Glendo, Threma ran towards the Pirates’ Captain and to the woman, he is almost dragging.

Captain Droo stopped and looked at Threma with a furrowed forehead. “What?”

“I just want to hug my friend.” Threma stammered.

Captain Droo rolled his eyes and let go of the woman he is holding.

Threma ran and hugged the woman. “Duri, are you insane? Why did you do this?!” she almost cried while reprimanding her best friend.

“Threma, don’t worry, he will love me in the end and he will be a good man; I promised you that. He will soon be my family in lieu of my family that I recently lost,” Duri whispered and Threma once more hugged her before giving her back to the waiting Pirates’ Captain.

As the pirates’ boat disappeared, the Thregonad people started to disperse, returning to their homes.

Shelyca suddenly gave Dareon a warm and tight embrace. “Thank you for not letting me a captive of that Pirates’ Captain,” she muttered while looking up at him.

“The hell he can get you my Princess; you are the Dragon Master’s beloved wife.” He muttered back while caressing her hair.

“Beloved?” she flipped her eyes, smiling.

“Yes, beloved and don’t you look at me like that, you might regret it.” Dareon gave her a quick peck on her right cheek.

With that Shelyca moved away from Dareon to the latter’s laughter.

“I was just joking wife; but you know if you like to do it; I am ready, just kissed me torridly and I know what you want.” He winked while teasing Shelyca.

“Hmmp, in your dreams Dragon Master,” she flipped her hair and then walked going to their big hovel; Dareon followed her, laughing heartily.

At the Pirates’ boat; Captain Droo is keenly observing the Thregonad woman who offered herself to him. He told her not to come out of his cabin until he told her so and she complied. She is now asleep while lying on the bed inside his cabin. Captain Droo sat at the edge of the bed near the woman’s head. He heard her friend called her as Duri. She will then be his Duri from now on.

He rubbed her face gently with the back of his hand. He traced with his finger the bridge of her cute nose and her red supple lips and suddenly an urge to kiss her hit him. He controlled himself ‘though as he does not want her to be awakened. When she wakes up; it would be time for him to take her; as long as she wants it. Slowly, he laid his tired body beside her, and then after few minutes, he fell asleep too.

Duri thought she was having a wonderful dream when she woke up and felt an arm wrapped around her waist. She glanced at the man beside her and a sudden realization hits her. She is not dreaming as indeed she is lying now beside the sleeping Pirates’ Captain; the Captain of her soul as she joked herself before. What will happen when he wakes up, is something that she is looking forward to. She is quite excited as she watched his sleeping handsome pirate.
