Chapter 53 - Start of the War

I

Princess Shelyca bade goodbye to her parents, King Andreios and Queen Lusica. She needs to follow home now her husband, who immediately flew back to his Thregonad Village when he senses that something wrong is going to happen.

She rode on their Bentley car together with two warriors guarding her, who are going to accompany her in the Palace’s jet, as they will travel going back to the Thregonad Village.

They were in the middle of their flight when Princess Shelyca started to yawn and then drifted to sleep thereafter.

Just a few minutes thereafter the two warrior-bodyguards of Princess Shelyca suddenly fell down when silver bullets pierce through them coming from a gun with a silencer. Then four men from the back appeared with guns in their hands. The two warrior-bodyguards of Princess Shelyca, who died instantly were thrown outside of the jet using the jet’s cargo door.

When Princess Shelyca woke up, she immediately checked her wristwatch and then looked outside the window to know where they are, but all she could see were mountains and oceans beneath. She slept for about half an hour, she could guess. Suddenly, she furrowed when she noticed that there were already four men inside the jet, strategically seated around her. Her heart beats so fast when her eyes could not find her two warrior-body guards.

Princess Shelyca calmed herself. Would this be a deja vu? The same kind of assassination act to kill her? If they wanted to kill her, they should have done it while she was still sleeping, Princess Shelyca thought. She closed her eyes again and pretended to be asleep.
At that moment, the Thregonad Village has been attacked by three helicopters. Strong aerial bombs from the helicopters fell down all over, shaking the whole village. At that instant, fires exploded and many hovels could be seen burning and killing many Thregonad people.

Dareon immediately shifted into his mythical reddish dragon form and soared up high seeing the three helicopters, moving around, firing, and throwing bombs down to his village.

Angrily the dragon spitted fire and hit the first helicopter near it, burning and crashing it down. The second helicopter pointed its automatic rifles towards the flying dragon trying to harm it. But the dragon was wise enough to avoid the bullets as it flew in another direction and then spitting fires in return against the remaining two helicopters.

When the two helicopters exploded, the dragon speedily flew down and away, to avoid being hit by the explosion.

Minutes thereafter, there was already silence and the flipping sounds of the dragon’s wings as it flew down to the Thregonad Village could be heard.

As the ray of light that scattered all over the reddish dragon disappeared, Dareon’s human form appeared.

Then Dareon heard the deafening cries everywhere and his heart was in a rage when he saw dead bodies of men and women, young or old, scattered in his beloved village while those who live, mourned in deep griefs.

He could not take it; Dareon ran towards his people and they too ran to greet him with tears on their faces. The few Thregonad people who remained breathing including some warriors fell to their knees and kissed the ground. Dareon did the same and cried. He could feel his defeat.

Princess Shelyca tried to use her mind to connect with Dareon but Dareon being not a werewolf-like her, she could not even penetrate his mind. She could not reach him. Then, she thought about his father. They are Lycans, one of the most powerful werewolves in the werewolf realm; but like other werewolves, the distance could hinder them from reaching into the minds of other werewolves. She tried to mind link her father but she failed. Princess Shelyca already loses her hope when she heard one of the men spoke.

“The Duke might be so excited now. We will deliver to him unscathed his sweet pretty princess.” Then the three other men laughed.

“That Duke is a fool in love. There are other women but he really wanted this pretty princess and he does not care if she is married already.” The other one of the men, who seemed to be the oldest among the four, said after a while.

Hearing those words, Princess Shelyca’s heart tumbled. “So, the arrogant Duke is the mastermind of all of this,” she thought. Somehow, she was able to relax a little, knowing that these four men will never hurt her.

Then the other one of the men, the smallest; have spoken too. “You think the village of the husband of this pretty princess has been burnt down already?”

The oldest replied, “Looking at my watched, I believed that little village is now gone.”

With all of the things that she heard, Princess Shelyca opened her eyes and angrily spat at the four men. “You devils! Call your master now and let me speak to him!” she shouted.

The four men were surprised by her sudden outburst but then they just laughed at her after a while.

“Just keep quiet Princess if you want to see our master. You cannot speak to him now, we do not have orders from him about that.” It was the oldest among the four men, who replied to Princess Shelyca.

“Then I am ordering you now to call him. Tell him, I wanted to speak with him!” Princess Shelyca reiterated her command but the four men shook their heads.

Princess Shelyca tried to stand up but then the oldest man pointed to her his gun. “Remain, seated Princess, if you want to reach the Sussex Palace alive.”
