Chapter 57 - The Combat will Start

“Tell me, Duke Simon, where is Princess Shelyca?” The King of Sussex asked, wondering if the First Princess of the Kingdom of Gold Valley has been brought inside his palace without him knowing it.

With lips still sealed, Duke Simon released a deep breath and irritated sigh.

“Answer me, Gaddamit Simon! Or you want me to strip your crown right now?!” with anger already consuming the whole body of the King of Sussex, he shouted and glared at his son. He made him a fool inside his own Kingdom and shamed him to the Dragon Lord.

“She is in my room.” Duke Simon replied with such expression as if he does not care at all.

“What?!” Did you touch her?!”

“I wanted to but she fought back and shifted into her wolf form,” Duke Simon answered, softly this time.

The King of Sussex almost had his eyes came out from their sockets with what he heard. He wanted to kill his Duke at this very moment.

“You fool! Irrational, inutil fool! You are asking for the vanishing of our Kingdom! But before it happened, I will vanish you first in my Kingdom and disown you!” Shaking in anger and with voice grunting; the King of Sussex called on their head guard.

“Open the room of Duke Simon and get the Princess of Gold Valley out there. Bring her to our biggest guest room!”

“Yes, my King; right away.” The head of the Palace Guards replied and quickly ran to carry on the order of their King.

“But Father, you cannot take her away from me. Princess Shelyca is mine!” Duke Simon protested.

“One more word Duke Simon and I will slash your throat! I could return the Princess of Gold Valley right now, but I will give you the chance to win her. Prepare yourself and accept the challenge of the Dragon Lord! Let me see how good a man you can be to beat the master dragon.” The King’s madness was not yet subsiding.

“I am accepting their challenge father. Let me kill that stupid dragon master, but I cannot accept that if I will win Princess Shelyca’s decision will be followed. Win or lose, it is as if I am going to lose. So please tell the Dragon Lord that if I will win, the First Princess of the Golden Glowing Pack will divorce her husband and will marry me thereafter,” with contempt in his voice, the Duke replied.

“Hah, hold on to your braggartness, young man, and win otherwise you will totally lose your face and arrogance. I will tell the Dragon Lord about your condition! The King said sighing, then said again. “I wonder if I failed to discipline you well and if I was wrong in putting you as the Duke of this Kingdom! Do not shame me more. You accept the challenge, then you have to accept the corresponding consequences!” The King said again with eyes squinting, showing how angry he is.

“I will father.”

“Then move your ass and do not show your face to me unless you win your one on one combat with the master dragon.” And the King motioned to his Duke son to leave him.

And so the one-on-one combat has been arranged. Dareon agreed to the new condition set forth by the Duke of Sussex. He is confident with his strength and fighting skills and he just wanted to finish this matter with the Duke of Sussex, with the latter bowing his head to him in the end.

“Dareon, be careful. I have no trust in that Duke of Sussex. I know you are a good fighter but he might cheat to defeat you.” King Andreios advised Dareon, who nodded and pleaded to be more careful.

“My King, I will do everything to get my wife back, even if that Duke will cheat. I will not allow him to win in the combat.” Dareon said with confidence. He knew his capabilities in fighting even if he will not use any of his dragon powers.

The one-on-one combat between Dareon and Duke Simon has been announced and other Kings from other Kingdoms were invited to witness the fight and be the witness and judges.

And so the day of the awaited combat has come. Dareon came in his majestical Chieftain Outfit while Duke Simon showed up wearing his Prince attire. Both of them wanted to mystify the young and beautiful Lycan Princess that they both love and adore. No one will ever think that they came into the arena to combat seeing their attires, but the spectators did not notice that anymore. Everyone has been excited to see them fight.

First Princess Shelyca was seated in front, alone, in the eyes of everyone. At her back, chairs were lined up where the Dragon Lord, the King of Sussex, and the King of Gold Valley with her Queen beside, seated.

Princess Shelyca looked at Dareon with much longing in her heart. “Dareon, I know you will gonna win; win for me my love,” she murmured.

The area of Sussex has been filled with spectators. They consider this combat as the fight of the century as this is a fight between a dragon and a Lycan Wolf. Whoever wins, determines the fate of each Kingdom and the young Princess seated in front.
