CHAPTER ELEVEN

"I agree, Mrs. Anderson you are fired."
Lia was speechless, she was losing her cool. Mabel was taking everything away from her.
"You only heard one side of the story but, you are so quick to conclude"
"Oh really? then please tell me your side of the story"
"There isn't even a story, to begin with," Lia threw her hands up, obviously frustrated.
"Pack your things and get out. I've had enough of you"
" Thank you so much sir, for bringing me justice. I won't forget you" Mabel thanked him while forcing out more tears.
She just wanted to get things done, the sight of the man was starting to irritate her. In Mabel's eyes, he was just a power-hungry old man.
"But I didn't do what she claims I did, you're just bent on taking her side because she has back up" Lia half-shouted.
"Mrs. Griffon that isn't true" he then turned to Lia and said " get out of my office, no leave, and never step foot in this facility ever again" Lia's boss shouted half-panicked. He needed to chase her out before she could spout rubish that could expose his true intentions.
"Fine, I'll leave. I hope you are happy Mabel"
" Out"
Lia stormed out and banged, the door hard enough for every other person to hear.
"Lia, what happened?"
" Why did the boss call you?"
" What did he say?" Both Mary and Chris asked with curiousness.
" Nothing really, except that I am fired"
" What?" Mary and Chris both said with union.
"Yup, I just got fired guys"
" That's absurd, what did you do?"
" Well I was rude to Mrs. Griffon, I also humiliated a..nd disrespected her"
" How? You guys barely talked and from what I could make out, you were the one getting insulted"
" I tried explaining what really happened, but the boss wouldn't listen to me"
" Oh sweetie"
" It's ok, I'll just find another job. I didn't want to work here anyway"
" How could someone be so evil, I mean who do..."
" Well, well, well. If it isn't Miss. Perfect, it looks like you were fired today" Karen rudely interrupted their chat.
" Oh great, it's another reptile" Marry rolled her eyes.
" Whatever, I was assigned by the boss man, to personally make sure you leave this place."
" Don't worry about that Karen, I know my way out" Lia said.
" Well, I hope you do" Karen said and left.
" what a fox"
" I know right," Chris said in agreement with Mary.
" I hate her so much. Oh and one time I saw her and Mrs. Griffon together" Mary said.
" You're joking" Lia said in disbelief.
" I'm not, I saw them at a restaurant, luckily I was at their back and also wearing a hoodie, so I was able to eavesdrop on their conversation without being discovered."
" What did you hear?" Chris asked.
"It is kind of a personal matter... between women"
It took a few seconds for Chris to realize he should leave.
"Don't worry about me, just pretend I'm not even here" Chris said.
" Leave" Mary commanded.
"Yes mam, I'll be taking my leave now"
"What did you hear?" Lia asked.
" I heard Mrs. Griffon talk about how much she hated you and wanted to make you suffer"
" What's so personal about that?"
" No, there is more. I heard Karen blabber about how she Uhm... She saw you leave with a man on the night we went clubbing" Lia froze.
" She also said that you were all over him and you begged him to take you with him, but that isn't true, right?"
Lia kept quiet.
"Right?" Lia started tearing up.
" I don't know what happened that night or who I was with, but I promise it was a mistake. I was drunk and wasn't conscious of my actions" Lia desperately tried to explain herself.
" Oh, I'm sure you were just under the influence of alcohol"
" But still, that's no excuse to lose my virginity"
" Virginity? How old are you, fifteen?". Mary couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"At least, you know who the man you lost it to is"
" No"
" Oh God," Mary mentally face palmed herself.
" You should have insisted on getting his contact, I mean what if you get pregnant or worse you caught an STD? who is going to take responsibility?"
"I never thought about any of that, I was too nervous to take a peek at his face"
" Well, now you know just in case of next time"
" There won't be a next time"
" You don't know that yet"
Mary helped Lia pack her belongings.
***sigh***, where on earth am I going to find a job?"
" If I'm not mistaken, you majored in business right?"
" I did, but I never told you that. How did you know?"
" It doesn't matter. Tell me, why the hell did you decide to work here and not in those fancy companies?"
"I couldn't find a job"
" In a big city, that has lots of business-related companies and not one job you could find, it looks like you my friend, has what I call IBL"
" What's that?"
" Intensive bad luck, yours is a special case. I'll have you know"
"There's no such thing, I think it's someone's doing" Lia said.
" Why is that?"
" I dated the heir to the Griffon's Group"
" The Griffon's Group. Woah, I heard that company was ranked 35"
" It is"
" And you dated the heir" Mary was astonished.
" Yes, His mother never liked me actually and I don't know why. Anyway, the Griffon's Group was my dream place to work in"
" But why?"
" I don't know actually. I was called for an interview and I passed. On the day I was supposed to resume work I was suddenly sent back. They told me that I wasn't fit for the job"
" That's bullshit"
" So I tried other companies with lower ranks even some of higher ranks but I was never called back for any of them"
" You must have been through a lot of heartbreaks" Lia just laughed the joke off.
" Hey slut" Karen called out and walked into Lia's office with Mabel following behind her.
" Who are you calling a... " Mary began to, say but she was cut off.
" Mind your godamn business" Karen snapped.
" You little.... "
" It's ok please leave us alone" Mary eyed Karen and Mabel before leaving.
" Get out"
