CHAPTER SIXTEEN

At last, the moment had finally come. Lia stood in front of King's corp with both excitement and nervousness. Getting a job at kings corp was like a lifetime achievement.
Lia took in her surrounding, the whole place was stunning just like Leo's mansion. The last time Lia came here, she was too occupied with her worries to admire the view.
Lia had made sure she dressed properly, with her hair tied up. She wanted to make people's first impression of her to be positive.
And of course, her extra confidence came from her darling husband.
Leo said to her earlier this morning, ***"You look stunning, my love" Leo gave Lia a peck on her nose.***
Lia made sure that Leo left home before she did, she didn't want any rumors stirring up about her.
Lia strode over to the receptionist's desk. Thankfully it wasn't the same girl from before.
This person was a lot more nicer and friendlier.
She offered Lia a warm smile before speaking.
"Hello, Welcome to king's corp how may I help you?"
"I'm a new employee here, I just got hired and I don't know where to go," Lia said feeling like a burden.
" Please give me your name"
" Ameliana ki... I mean Anderson. Ameliana Anderson" Lia said.
" Ah, I've been looking forward to your arrival, please kindly follow me"
" Where are we going? "
" To meet the boss," Lia didn't ask any more questions. She just followed the receptionist like an obedient dog.
The receptionist took Lia to a different elevator from the one she used the last time she came.
This one was a lot less fancy than the other, and that one was kind of hidden.
Lia used her time in the elevator to observe the receptionist.
She had long wavy red hair, with little freckles scattered on her nose and cheeks. She was a little bit shorter than Lia. Lia thought of her as beautiful.
The elevator beeped indicating that they had reached their designated floor.
Lia stepped out of the elevator, she noticed that the receptionist had refused to move.
"Aren't you coming?"
The receptionist smiled at her.
"You know, you are a special one. I'm not allowed to step foot on this floor. Good luck with the boss and try your best not to piss him off." Lia didn't think too much about what she said.
With that, the receptionist closed the elevator doors and left Lia all alone.
Lia was already familiar with this floor, she made her way straight to Leo's office.
Knock
Knock
"Come in"
"Hello, Mr.King," Lia said emphasizing his surname, All in an attempt to sound formal.
"Welcome, Mrs. king. I've been waiting for you" Leo said with the same energy she used.
"Shh, don't call me that in public"
"And why not?"
" Someone might hear you"
" We are the only ones currently on this floor"
"The walls have ears" Leo narrowed his eyes, not understanding what Lia was trying to say.
" Have a seat"
" What am I going to do?"
" You have two choices. One you work as my PA or you work in the finance department"
" PA?, What about Mr. Black?"
" I'm sure he wouldn't mind"
" I'll work in the finance department"
"Fine" Leo said with gritted teeth.
"Thank you so much Leo I mean sir" Leo frowned.
" You don't have to be so formal with me, not especially when we are alone"
" But we are in a place of work, so of course, I have to be formal"
" Do you want to get fired?"
" Note taken"
Leo chuckled.
Lia thought of his little fit of laughter, to be one of the most beautiful things about him. Hearing him laugh made her heart flutter.
" Where do I go?"
" I'll escort you"
" No" Lia shouted.
" What's wrong?"
" Nothing, don't worry about me, I'll find my way"
" Nonsense, let's go"
" Please Leo"
Leo sighed.
" Fine, but if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me"
" I won't"
Lia made her way back to the receptionist's desk, but the person she met before was replaced by another.
Whose shift ends so quickly? Lia wondered.
" Hello, excuse me. Please may I know where I could find the finance department?"
The woman eyed Lia up and down, clearly not pleased with how she looks.
" Who's asking?"
" I am, I just got hired here and..." Lia was interrupted.
" I didn't ask, and also sweetie I'm not your tour guide. Now hurry up and scurry away from me"
Why do I always have to encounter the rude ones, Lia thought to herself.
" You know, for a receptionist you are too rude. I can report you"
" Oh look, I'm so scared" the receptionist rolled her eyes.
" You..."
" Thank you Stella for covering for me" it was the same girl from earlier. She came back.
" Whatever" Stella eyed Lia one last time and left.
" Hi, my name is Ellie. Nice to meet you"
" I already told you my name earlier, but you can call me Lia"
" Sorry if Stella was rude to you just now"
" It's okay"
" So, how may I help you for the second time this morning?"
" May I know where the finance department is?"
" Of course follow me"
" You don't have to leave your post because of me, you can just give me the directions and then, I will find my way"
" This isn't my post, I work in the finance department just like you're about to start doing now"
" Really? Then why are you here?"
" I was assigned by My king, to take care of you today"
" Your king?"
Ellie's eyes widened with the realization of what she had just said.
"I mean Mr. Black, he is just too handsome and perfect for poor me to resist his charms" She blurted out.
"Oh"
"He is so sexy, I almost died when he called me out earlier this morning to take care of you"
Ellie fanned herself with her hands.
"His voice is so melodious, I could kill to hear him speak again"
" Is there another Mr. Black in this place?" Lia wondered if it were the same person she knew.
" No, there is only one" Ellie said dreamingly.
" It looks like, you have a crush on him"
" Oh no, I don't have a crush on Mr. Black"
" If you say so" Lia said.
" I'm completely In love with him"
