CHAPTER SIXTY TWO

Early in the morning the next day. Diana had bid her goodbye to Liana's sleeping frame. She couldn't sleep at all last night, she was thinking about Ben's words. And now she had made her decision, not like she had a choice anyway.
But there was a problem though. She didn't know where exactly she would be able to find Ben. Diana would have preferred to go without telling anyone just like last time, but she needed Lia on this.
Diana aimlessly wandered about in the manor, until she had finally come across the master bedroom.
It would be very wrong to peek into a couple's room, especially because no one knows what could be going on at that moment, but Diana didn't have a choice.
She placed her ear against the door and once she didn't hear any sound coming from inside, she slowly and gently opened the door. She saw Lia and Leo cuddled up together.
She could barely see Lia's frame. She began to tear a piece of paper she had brought along with her. The few pieces she had gotten were all squeezed into little balls.
Although she could barely see Lia, Diana was good at aiming, so she managed to throw a few pieces at Lia without them touching Leo.
Lia whose sleep had been interrupted by little insects crawling on her face departed from Leo and sat up straight.
"Sss" Diana hissed trying to get Lia's attention.
Lia turned to the door and saw Diana's head shooting out from the door. Still feeling sleepy Lia crawled out of the bed and went out to meet Diana.
"Good morning, aunt" Lia said and yawned.
"I'm sorry for disturbing you, but I would like to go and see your father, but I do not know where to go," Diana said.
"Don't you think it is a little too early?" Lia asked.
"I have to go now," Diana said sounding as if she were under pressure.
"Oh, I would go and have a change of clothes then we can go," Lia said and Diana nodded.
Lia quietly brushed her teeth and changed her clothes, She didn't want to wake Leo, seeing as he looked so tired yesterday.
Lia met with Diana again and they both left the manor. They went to the huge garage to get a ride.
"Shoot, I forgot about something," Lia said.
"What is it?" Diana asked her.
"I forgot that I don't know how to drive"
"I will drive, give me the Keys," Diana said.
" Sure," Lia said and went to get the key to one of Leo's cars. She gave Diana the key and then they both got in.
On seeing that it was the mistress of the house the guards opened the gates for them to pass through.
Lia gave Diana the directions as she drove and not long after they had arrived at Ben's home.
Lia knocked on the door several times before Ben opened it.
"Lia, do you know what time it is right ... Diana? What a pleasant surprise" Ben said smiling when he took notice of Diana.
"Come in, both of you," Ben said as he stepped aside for them to enter.
"Thank you," Lia said.
"Why so early in the morning?" Ben asked.
"I didn't want to draw attention to myself," Diana said.
"You must be tired Lia, why don't you go back to bed," Ben said.
"I will do just that," Lia said and left Ben and Diana alone.
" You chose wisely" Ben stated.
" You didn't give me a choice" Diana spat out.
" Just yesterday you were quivering and now you want to act bold, how sad. I love it better when you are scared," Ben said with a serious tone.
" Gulp" " I have come to you today, so please do not go after my daughter in the future" Diana pleaded.
" That depends solely on your behavior"
" No, you have to promise me that you won't touch her"
" So now you care, I thought you had abandoned her"
" I only left because I wanted to protect my family"
" And look where that got them" Ben commented.
" That is why I won't run anymore, I don't want the same thing to repeat itself"
" Are you aware that your husband's death was my doing?" Ben asked.
" I am, but I am willing to forget everything you have done to protect her"
" you should also know that there are other ways out. You could have come clean and told king everything or go to the police"
" I can't do that Ben, not to you," Diana said and Ben laughed.
" You are really stupid, Diana. But anyway, one way or another I would have gotten to you and now that I have you, you can never leave me again. I will make sure of it"
"..."
"Let's go"
"Where to?"
"A place where no one will ever find you," Ben said and Diana gulped.
Ben led Diana out of the house and into the car. When they walked out of the door, Lia who had been standing in a corner listening to their conversation had come out of her hiding spot.
She was lost for words from everything she had heard, but she couldn't believe it. Everything about her father had completely changed even down to his voice.
He was usually calm and talked in a sweet way, even when he was insulting a person, but this time his voice was rough and he sounded and looked scary.
Lia searched for her phone to call Leo, but it wasn't with her. She must have left it at home, so she decided to go after them herself.
She needed to fully understand the situation, even though she had heard it from her father, she still hoped otherwise.
Lia waited for them to leave before running out into the street. Luckily it wasn't too early to catch a taxi.
Lia hopped into a vehicle and told the driver to follow Ben's car. It was a little bit hard to see because it was still dark, but they had managed to successfully follow his car.
They had arrived on the outskirt of the City. Lia stopped the taxi driver and came down after rewarding him heavily.
She decided that it would be best if she trekked to avoid drawing attention and at last, she had arrived at where she saw Ben entering. His car was no longer there but she continued walking anyway.
It was an abandoned structure. No one lived on the outskirts anymore, so it was mostly bushes and trees with a few buildings.
Lia turned the handle of the door and saw that it was still in good condition, she slowly pushed the door opened and entered.
"Hello," Lia said into the darkness.
"Is anyone here?" She said again.
The door was suddenly shut with force and someone said from behind her,
"Hello, Lia"
