Ellie chewed her nails as she sat on the couch in her living room with her thoughts completely occupied.
***" Mr. Black was alive, he is here and he was the one who saved me."***
Just the mere thought of seeing him again made her heartbeat.
She felt like a total idiot, how could she give that type of reaction? She felt like a teenager trapped in a room with her crush.
Suddenly a thought came into mind,
" What if he was the one that sent me those flowers?... Na...a, but if he was how does he know my favorite? Hmmm, probably just a coincidence, he doesn't know anything about me. But what if...? " She was interrupted with her little session by the sound of her phone beeping.
"Argh, I completely forgot that I have a boyfriend" Ellie felt horrible once again. There she was obsessing over another guy when her boyfriend is sweet and caring.
*Hey, you're inferiors said you weren't at work today. Is everything okay?* Ellie read.
*Yes, just a bit tired. Thanks for checking up on me* Ellie texted back.
She wondered if it would be her and Mr. Black if he hadn't disappeared.
Ellie was in a state of confusion. She was okay about two weeks ago, she was sure that her feelings for him had completely died down, but now she is fawning for him all over again.
Ellie has to break up with Mike and fast. She didn't want to hurt him any longer, especially now that she was confused about her own feelings. No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't bring herself to love him.
*I know things haven't been working out lately between us. I think it would be best if we broke up. Meet me at my house after work, let's talk about it* she texted again.

Ellie heard her doorbell ring.
The time has come for her to get things over with. She let out a deep breath and went to the door to open it.
Her face dropped when she saw who it was.
***gulp***
"Is it a bad time?" Mr. Black asked.
***Hiccup***
Ellie only got hiccups when she was extremely nervous. She couldn't say anything, she was just frozen on the spot.
As if something was controlling her she left the door open and walked to the kitchen. She poured herself a glass of water and gulped everything down in one go.
Gideon took the opened door as a sign for him to come in, so that's what he did. He came in and shut the door behind him.
He sat on her couch as if he were making himself comfortable at home.
Ellie's cat majestically walked up to Mr. Black and rubbed its body against his leg. While doing that the cat purred.
Mr. Black picked the cat up and placed it on his lap and began to massage behind the cat's ears with his long fingers.
***How cute***, he thought.
Although he had always wanted one, he was never allowed to have a pet when he was younger and because Liana was scared of animals he couldn't get one even when he was older.
Ellie watched him from the kitchen, her heart was pounding seriously.
Mr. Black was here and he was in her living room.
Her eyes ran along his bulkier muscles. He looked more manly and handsome than before.
"Are you going to watch me all day or are we going to have a chat?" Mr. Black said looking her way.
Again, as if she was compelled, she went to sit facing him. She played with her fingers on her lap.
"How have you been doing?" Mr. Black asked.
"G...great" Ellie gave a nervous laugh.
"Are you so displeased to see me?" Mr. Black asked her because she wasn't looking at him.
"N...no"
***Goodness, why can't I just say something without stuttering?***
"If this isn't the right time, I can leave and come back another day" Mr. Black stated.
"N..no, it's j..just that why a..are you here?" Ellie asked and Mr. Black frowned.
"I came I here to see you"
"Why?" Ellie said finally getting the courage to look up.
"Well, because I haven't seen your cute face in a very long time"
Ellie blushed at his comment.
"But w...why would you want to see me, I m...mean we weren't friends, to begin with"
"True, but that doesn't mean I don't have feelings for you" Ellie's mouth hung open.
***How could he say that so casually and what? He has what?***
Ellie couldn't take it, she used her hands to cover her face.
"Don't s...say things like that, I m...might misunderstand you" She muttered from her palms.
"What is there to misunderstand, is there another meaning of feelings?" Mr. Black asked confused.
***Oh my God, if I stay in this room any longer with this man I might die of a heart attack.***, She thought.
Mr. Black waited for her answer but he didn't get one, so he continued, " If there is another meaning of feelings then I mean the one called lo..."
He was interrupted by a knock on the door.
Ellie thanked her stars. She stood up from where she was sitting and went to open the door.
It was Mike. ***Shit***, she cursed under her breath. Seeing Mr. Black, she had completely forgotten that she was expecting Mike.
"El, what did you mean by break up?" Mike asked, he sounded sad and angry, but mostly hurt.
Ellie was now in a tight spot, all of this just had to happen today.
Ellie closed the door behind her, she didn't want Mr. Black to hear their conversation.
"I am sorry Mike, it's just that I don't have any feelings for you and I don't think I will. It isn't fair for you, for me to keep you" Ellie said.
" It's okay El, you don't have to worry about the feelings, I have enough for the both of us" Mike tried to reason with her.
" I am sorry but, No. It just wouldn't work that way"
" Please El, don't do this to me. I don't know what I will do without you." Mike begged.
Ellie let out a deep breath,
" Mike, You have to move on, forget about me. I am sure there are other girls who would love to take my place in your heart"
" Yes, but there is none like you, El. I just love you so much"
" Am I interrupting something?" Mr. Black said from behind Ellie.
***Shit*** Ellie cursed again, why was she facing so many hardships in one day?
Mike eyed Mr. Black and frowned.
" Who is he?" He asked.
" He is..." Ellie began but was cut off by Mr. Black.
" Who are you?" Mr. Black asked, causing Mike to look from him to Ellie and to him again.
" No, Mike it's not what it looks like" Ellie tried to explain.
" We're you two-timing me?" He asked with a hurt look on his face.
" What?, No. How could you even think that?" Ellie said.
It would have been better if he thought that she was cheating on him, but two-timing, that was too much.
" Then who is he?" Mike asked again.
" I believe you both have already ended your relationship, so she doesn't need to explain herself to you and it won't be cheating if I am with her," Mr. Black said.
As much as Ellie thinks she likes Mr. Black, she just wanted to scream at him to shut up.
" So he is the reason you want to leave me, have you gotten bored of me, is that it?"
" He has nothing to do with it, Mike. I simply just can't reciprocate your feelings and I believe you deserve something better than what I can give you"
" But I love you El"
" Pfft" Mr. Black scoffed and Mike gritted his teeth.
" Does loving her include lying to her?" Mr. Black asked.
" What do you mean?" Mike asked.
" I am sure my darling Ellie, would love to know about your little secret," Mr. Black said and Mike paled.
" What is he talking about?" Ellie asked Mike.
" It's nothing," Mike said trying to shake off the topic.
" Your little ex over here is a fraud."
" Mike tell me what he is talking about?" Ellie said to him.
Mike looked as if he were about to cry.
" Are you going to tell her or should she hear it from me?"
" I am sorry Ellie, I really am. Please forgive me" Mike held Ellie's hands in his as he begged for her forgiveness.
" Mike..."
" He lied to you, Ellie. His mother was never sick, he just used it as an excuse just so he could extort money from you" Mr. Black dropped the bomb.
" What?" Ellie said as she harshly shoved Mike's hands away.
" Is this true?" Ellie asked him and Mike hung his head down in shame.
"How could you? I trusted you"
"El, it's not how it sounds. I promise you I would pay you back every dine you gave to me. Please don't leave me"
Mike tried to touch her but Ellie moved away from him.
"There would be no need for that. leave this place, I do not wish to see you anymore" Ellie said turning her back against Mike.
" El, ple..."
"She has spoken. Get out, you are not welcome here anymore" Mr. Black said.
Yes, it was true that Mike's mother wasn't sick, but she was indeed part of the reason Mike had to borrow so much money from Ellie.
His mother was addicted to gambling. She would always gamble away any little money Mike had until she passed away with a huge dept placed on his head.
He had to sell his house in order to pay a part of it and he had been living in poor conditions to pay it off completely.
It wasn't until the night they bit him up and threatened to kill him, that he sucked up pride to ask Ellie for money.
It helped a lot with the debt, although it wasn't completely covered, it went somewhere. If it wasn't for Ellie's kindness, his dead body will probably be laying in a ditch somewhere.
"Ok Ellie, I will leave for now. But please, don't hate me" Mike said and began to walk away.
Ellie felt cheated and used. How could she be so stupid to not see what was going on?
"I am sorry for what you had to go through just now" Mr. Black apologized.
"It's not your fault," Ellie said to him.
Mr. Black reached for her face and tucked her hair behind her ear so that he could grasp a clearer view of her face.
The moment was so romantic but it was also short-lived because Ellie moved back a bit.
She didn't want to get too carried away. After all, Mr. Black had only just returned. Who knew if he would disappear again?
"Goodbye, Mr. Black," Ellie said flashing him a small smile.
"Yes, Goodbye," Mr. Black said and Ellie turned around.
"And by the way, it's Gideon," Mr. Black said giving Ellie full permission to call him by his name.
...
"Boss, he has left the lady's house," An unknown person said into his phone.
"Capture him and bring him to me," his boss said.
"Understood," The man said and cut the call.
The man then turned around to face his inferiors sitting at the back of the van to say, "Everyone, be prepared. He isn't an easy target"
