Chapter Twelve

Jay:

I reached home so tired with continuous meetings. I settled on the sofa. Everyone except Vidya is in the room.

"What happened to brother?" Adi said.

"Might be work pressure," Shwetha said.

"Really so tired. I need some coffee. Didn't Vidya come yet?" I said.

"Vidya came but....." before Vidya completes her words, I went to my room.

I knocked on the door and Vidya opened it. She sat on the bed. I took off my watch and kept my watch and keys on the table.

"I will get fresh up. Please, bring me a cup of coffee. I am so tired today," I said.

I went to get fresh up and came after sometime. I saw her still sitting on the bed.

"Vidya, please bring me a coffee. I am really tired today," I said again but shocking me, Vidya shouted at me.

"Do you think that only you will get tired and I will never feel tired as I am not a human. I don't have mood to prepare a coffee now. Why can't you do it by yourself or ask Shwetha?"

"What? Ask Shwetha? Vidya, I don't know why are you making this an issue. But listen to me, you are my wife. So I can't ask Shwetha to prepare coffee for me. I can ask only you. Just don't argue with me and bring me a coffee," I said casually.

"Wife is not a free servant to do all your works. Prepare it by yourself. If you can't do it, ask someone else," Vidya said, stubbornly.

"Vidya, are you going to prepare coffee or not? Just answer me."

"No. Don't disturb me. I need a rest."

Saying this Vidya covered herself with a blanket and slept. I went off seriously from the room with Vidya's ridiculous behavior.

"Jay, actually Vidya....." Karthi tried to say something.

"I am not interested to talk about her anything now. I am going out. Bye," I said and left from there.

I returned to the home at night and saw Vidya studying. I didn't talk anything and Vidya too stayed silent. I slept after some time. In the morning, Vidya woke up and saw me. I behaved as if I didn't notice her. She got ready and brought coffee for him. I got ready without glancing at her.

"Jay, please take the coffee," Vidya said.

"I can prepare it by myself or will ask Shwetha. You no need to get tired by doing my works," I said remembering her words.

"I am sorry, Jay."

"Why are you saying sorry?"

"For being rude to you yesterday."

"You didn't talk anything wrong, Vidya. You are right. The wife is not a servant. But the thing which I don't understand is that I never asked you to do any work. I never knew that I am treating you as a servant. I never have such a stupid intention. You are the one who started doing my works and removed the servants. You said that you are doing everything with love. But yesterday you shouted at me just for asking for a cup of coffee," I said.

"Jay, I am really upset yesterday. So, unfortunately, I vented my frustration at you. I am really sorry. Please understand me. I really love to do all your works," Vidya said in a low voice.

"I don't understand why most of the girls are so mad and vents anger at their loved ones all the time," I said smiling.

"You are talking about me. Then, talk only about me. You have no right to talk about all the girls."

"Yes, you are right. All girls are better than you. Most importantly, no one in the world can beat you in madness," I said to tease her.

"I thought that you will understand me. But you are not even trying to understand me. It's ok. I am not going to disturb you," Vidya said and turned back to leave the room.

I hugged her from the back and kissed her.

"You always disturb me with your beauty, sweetheart."

"Leave me," Vidya said.

"Do you really want me to leave you? Ok then I will stay away from you forever," I said and took off my hands over her but Vidya held my hands.

"No. I can't stay away from you," Vidya said, pouting at me.

"Then why are you leaving like that?"

"Because you are angry with me."

"I am pretending to be angry with you because I want you to convince me."

"How?" Vidya said acting innocent.

"Should I make you learn that too, sweetheart?" I said, kissing her back.

"Are you not angry with me?"

"No, not at all."

"Then why didn't you talk to me from yesterday evening?

"Because I thought you need some space. Why didn't you talk?"

"I thought you are angry."

"I can understand you. As we are humans, we will be stressed out and upset at times. We can show our emotions only to our close ones.

"But I am really sorry."

"Don't start chanting sorry, angel. Let us come to an agreement. From the next time, when you want to say sorry for anything, just give me a........"

I stopped to show it to her by kissing her.

"You are really so....."

"Romantic?" I said.

"No."

"Understanding?"

"No, you are so mad."

"Yes, I became mad after marrying you. Your madness came to me too," I said, teasing her again.

"I love you. "You are so sweet. You always understand me," Vidya said.

" I love you too, angel. Thank you. Yes, I am very understanding unlike you."

"Jay," Vidya said, hitting me.

"Ok, let's leave it," I said, holding her hands.

I turned her towards me and cupped her face.

"Now tell me what made you upset yesterday?"

"Actually I wrote my first mock test of civil services yesterday. I got less marks and I didn't expect that. Till now I was topper in my acadamics," Vidya said, making me laugh but somehow I controlled my laughter because I don't want to embarrass her. The problem of one person will always be so small to another person.

"That's a very small thing. Civil services exam is different from academics. Vidya, you just started your preparation. You can't be a pro within this short time. Marks never decide the ability of a person. I am sure that you will achieve your goal. Do one thing. From today extend your study hours and let's appoint a maid for the household works. I don't want you to waste your time and become tired with the work."

"It's ok. However, we all share our works. That's not a problem," Vidya said.

"Now leave it. I don't want you to be overburdened with the work," I said, cupping her face.

"But for today let me prepare the breakfast," Vidya said and I nodded.

We went downstairs and got surprised.

"Come fast. You will get late. Breakfast is ready," Shwetha said.

"Is breakfast prepared already?" Vidya said.

"Yes. Adi and I prepared the breakfast already.

"Thank you, Shwetha," Vidya said.

"Sister in law, actually we thought to tell something to you. From today, we five will do all the works at home. You just focus on your study," Karthi said.

"Don't waste your time," Shwetha said.

"Yeah, that's better. I will hire the maid too," I said.

"Ok then I will do cooking leaving other works to the maid," Shwetha said.

"We will help you," Adi said to Shwetha.

"I will check the bills we need to pay every month and will pay them off," Karthik said.

"I will take care of the groceries," Vicky said.

"What about you, Jay?" Shwetha said.

"I will help you by eating food prepared by you," I said.

"You are suitable only for that," Adi countered me.

"Exactly and his non interference is the best help he can do for us," Karthi said supporting Adi.

"Now I will help you by killing you both," I said.

I started beating Adi and Karthi. They are running and I chased them. After their fight, they reached to the dining table again.

"Ok, let's do everything together," I said showing my palm and remaining four members joined with me by holding my hand.

"I am so lucky to have all of you," Vidya said.

"We are lucky too for having you, my dear sister in law," Shwetha said.

We completed the breakfast and dropped Vidya in her institute on the way to my office.
