Chapter Twenty Seven

Jay:

I woke up and looked at Vidya.

"I don’t know how to say the truth to you but I cannot hide it for more time. I hope you won’t become panic and depressed after knowing that. I promise I will be with you in your every struggle giving you support and strength to face it. This is the true essence of any relationship. Till now you did a lot for me. you bore my anger, loved me a lot, agreed to leave your parents for me, gave your love to my family and indirectly I am also a reason for your situation now. I hurt you many times but you never hurt me and inspite of my flaws, you are seeing me as the best husband. If it's not you, I would have never been so happy with anyone else. I love you."

I leaned towards her and kissed her on the forehead. Vidya woke up smiling at me.

"Good morning."

"Good morning, sweetheart," I said.

"Why are you staring at me like that early in the morning?"

"Just trying to understand how God created such a beautiful girl with the most beautiful heart," I said and Vidya blushed hearing me.

"Who is that beautiful girl?" Vidya said, as if she doesn't understand. I thought to tease her for a while.

"You don't know her," I said.

"What? Who is she? Is it not about me?"

"No. Who told you that you are beautiful? You are not that beautiful as that girl about whom I am talking."

Vidya pushed me aside slowly and went off from there to get ready. We both got ready. Vidya is not talking to me as she is angry at me.

"Vidya, can you get me a cup of coffee?"

Vidya sat on the bed but didn’t respond to me. I enjoyed her jealous and anger. She is damn cute. I smiled but faked anger to make her more angry.

"Can’t you hear me? I said to bring you coffee. Don’t make me angry again," I said, raising my voice a bit.

Vidya went and brought coffee for me. She gave coffee to me and I took the cup by touching her hand. Then, I kept coffee cup aside and hugged her from the behind.

"Are you angry with me?" I said, kissing on her cheek.

"No," Vidya said.

"So are you jealous at her?"

"No, why would I be jealous at someone?"

"Then, why are you not talking to me?" I said, turning her towards me and moving the hairs that fell on her face aside. Vidya held my hand and stopped me from touching her face.

"Tell me who is that girl?" Vidya said and possessiveness is clearly visible on her face.

"Do you want to know about that girl?"

"Yes," Vidya said. I pulled her more close to me.

"She is the one who made my life beautiful, who made me complete, who is with me in ups and downs of life, who bore my anger and stupidity, who loves me immensely. And she is none other my beautiful wife," I said. Vidya blushed hearing my words and I kissed her lips.

"Now did you understand who is that beautiful?

"Your wife," Vidya said.

"Yes, it's only you, sweetheart. The best thing that has happened to me in my entire life is You," I said.

"I love you," Vidya said.

"I love you more and more," I said.

"I will prepare the breakfast for you," Vidya said.

"No need, Vidya. Maids will do the work. You just relax and take rest," I said. Vidya always wants to do all my works but I know still she is weak. I can’t make her understand that if she doesn't takes care of her health, anything may happen to her. I don't mind even if we don't have children but I can’t miss her at any cost.

"How long do you want me to rest? You are not allowing me to do any work. Not sending anywhere. I feel bore to sit idle at home all the time. Please, Jay, allow me to do work and go for coaching," Vidya said.

"No," I said firmly.

"Why? I am fine now, not feeling weak. Please, understand me."

"Okay. Do one thing. Come with me to our office, if you feel bore here at home."

"What should I do there? You won’t allow me to do anything there too."

"Exactly. Till I feel you are recovered and fine, You are not allowed to do anything."

"Atleast allow me to study at home."

"No. The doctor told me that you shouldn’t be stressed either physically or mentally."

"Kill me, it's better than being idle and resting all the time," Vidya said.

I smiled and sat beside her on the bed. I gave her a side hug.

"Don’t be angry, darling. If you feel bore, watch tv, listen to music, read novels etc. Do those works which keeps you relaxed but not stressed.

Today in the evening, let's go out to the dinner and shopping. You will feel better. I didn’t say you not to go anywhere. You can go anywhere but only with me not alone. If you want, everyday in the evening, I will take you out wherever you want," I said.

"You are treating me as a kid. Your care is too much and unbearable. You are not fighting with me. You are not saying any works to me. Whatever I do or say, you are not getting angry. I want you to be as you are. I do not understand why you changed a lot."

"I am getting late. Take care. Let's go out in the evening. You can fight with me later," I said and went to the office. I went earlier to home in the evening. Vidya is waiting for me. I gave a gift to her.

"What is this?"

"Western dress," I said to see her reaction. I love to irritate her.

"Why did you bring Western dress again for me?"

"Because you look pretty in that dress."

"But I can’t come out in that dress."

I hugged her from the behind and kissed her on the cheek.

"But you will wear it for me, isn’t it?" I said.

"No. Because you already promised me that you will never ask me to wear such dresses when we are going out."

"Yes, I won’t force you because I love you. It's your favorite saree. Now get ready. Let's go out," I said.

Vidya opened the cover and saw a baby pink sari with white lace and embroidery. She smiled at me and got ready. I took her to the shopping and then, for a long drive.

I stopped the car near a beautiful garden. I took her inside. Vidya held my hand tight and leaned on my shoulder. I didn’t understand what happened to her suddenly.

"What happened to you, Vidya? Why are you frightened?"

"This place..."

"This is our farm house," I said.

I took the keys of the house from the caretaker and we both went inside. The room was decorated beautifully with rose petals and our pictures as I planned.

"It's beautiful," Vidya said.

"Not more than you, sweetheart."

I took her to the dining table and we had the dinner. I took my guitar and played a song for her. Vidya closed her eyes while I sang her favorite Hindi song “bolna mahi bolna”.

I went to her and asked her hand for a dance. Vidya blushed and then, joined me to dance. We danced for a long time until we get tired. We returned home. I felt happy as Vidya enjoyed a lot.

"How was the day?" I said.

"Awesome. Thank you so much, Jay. I am so happy. I enjoyed it a lot."

"What did you like the most?"

Vidya thought for a moment.

"Dinner. It's very tasty," Vidya said.

I expected her to say dance with me. I can’t understand this girl. Didn’t she enjoy dance and the time with me?

"What about you?" Vidya said.

"I too liked only the dinner because it's the only time where you are calm without eating my brain," I said.

Vidya pouted looking at me.

"Good night," I said and slept on the bed.

"So do you want me not to talk? Ok, I won’t talk from now," Vidya said, turning other side from me.

I smiled and looked at her. I hugged her and turned her towards me.

"I love you," I said, looking at her eyes.

"I hate you," Vidya said.

"Really?" I said

Vidya nodded.

"How much do you hate me? I love you this much," I said and kissed her lips for a long time. Vidya blushed and lowered her eyes.

"Show me your hatred, dear," I said and Vidya smiled at me.

"I love you. Today I enjoyed a lot and especially the dance with you. I always want to be with you. Never leave me, please. I can’t live without you. I feel happy and secure when you are with me. I feel as if there is no need to live if you are not with me," Vidya said.

"I love you too. I will never leave you. I will be with you forever. I promise you," I said.

I kissed her on the forehead and slowly we both went into the sleep.

Next day, I got ready and left to the office. In the afternoon, I got a call from landline of my house. I received the call.

"Hello, Vidya," I said.

"Sir, this is Karunya," the maid said.

"Tell me, Karunya. Is everything ok? Where is Vidya?" I said.

"Sir, madam went outside and came just now. She is crying and not opening the door. She locked herself in the room."
