Chapter Nineteen

Flashback:

Jay PoV:

Suhana slapped me.

"What's this, Jay?? We never expected this from you. You have changed a lot. Is this what we taught to you? Success should make a person more humble but not a fool who ruins their own life. Smoking, drinking, drugs and affair, what's the hell is this? I really feel guilty to say that you are my brother," Suhana said.

"Sister, please listen to me," I said.

"Don't call me like that. You forgot values and principles taught by our parents. You are not my brother anymore because my brother never behaves like this. Don't call me as sister till you realise your mistake."

"I am sorry. I just got attracted and forced to get addicted to these habits."

"Shut up. No one can force you when you have a specific character and strong will to protect that character. Leave all this, Jay. Tell me one thing. Do you want to change or not?"

I nodded and promised my sister that I will quit all these addictions.

Flashback ended.

"I promised my sister and took the treatment and quit smoking, drinking and drugs. Somehow we managed the media not to know this news about me. After that, I participated in social work and avoided such friend circles.

"Did you get intimate with Lasya?" Vidya said and I nodded.

"But that's the past and now I belong only to you."

"If I do the same with anyone and tell you that it's my past and now I belong only to you, would you forgive me?" Vidya said.

"Vidya, I can understand your pain but really I can't do anything for that now. So I will accept your decision even if you leave me," I said, though I can understand her pain.

"Leaving you spoils my life more. From today you should never touch me or talk to me in our room till I forgive you. One more thing, no one should know this except both of us. I will be with you and in front of you but you should stay away from me. And I won't do any of your works until I accept you again," Vidya said.

"I am sleeping. Good night," Vidya said and slept on the bed.

I didn't remember what happened that night. But I thought at least Vidya would trust me. But you are also not trusting me. I still don't remember getting intimate with Lasya. How can I do that when I have no feelings for Lasya?

I laid on the bed and turned another side. In the morning, I woke up and saw Vidya sleeping. She is so cute and innocent. I leaned towards her to kiss on the forehead but remembering her words, I got away from her. I came out after taking a shower and saw my clothes arranged already asusual.

"Coffee," Vidya said.

"Yesterday you told that...." I said.

"What? Don't you want coffee?" Vidya said. I sipped the coffee without replying her. Vidya went off from the room. I couldn't a file and started searching for it.

"Do you need anything?" Vidya said.

"Actually I am searching for a file," I said.

"Do you need me to help you?" Vidya said.

Truly I need her help because I am habituated to depend on her . I couldn't manage anything without Vidya now.

"If you don't want my help, I will go," Vidya said.

"No no. I need your help," I said.

We both started searching and something fell from the table. We bent to pick it up and our foreheads touched one another. I rubbed her forehead as she was hurt. But remembering her words, I took back my hand.

"I am sorry. Are you hurt?" I said.

"I am okay," Vidya said.

"You go and have your breakfast. I will come after searching the file. Your presence is making me mad. Go from here," I said.

"It's your mistake and still you are shouting at me," Vidya said.

"Yes, you are right. It's my mistake. Ok, I am sorry. I will go from here."

I was about to leave but Vidya hugged me from behind.

"I am sorry. I just teased you. I love you, Jay. Love doesn't mean only saying I love you. It means trust and understanding. I don't think you would get intimate with a girl for whom you have no feelings. One more thing is you didn't do it intentionally. That's why I am not angry with you."

Jay turned towards her and hugged her tightly.

"I don't remember anything, Vidya," I said.

"It's ok. I am with you. We can find it out. Even if you do that mistake as you didn't do it intentionally, I forgive you. But promise me that you won't betray me here after by keeping any affair. I hate seeing you with other girls. I don't want your past but there should be no affairs from now on," Vidya said.

"I promise you. Except you, no girl has the place in my heart and life. I won't be close to any girl. Vidya, please trust me. I don't think that I did wrong with her that day. I don't remember. But I can't prove it to you."

Vidya cupped my face.

"It's ok, Jay. I trust you. Proofs are not necessary. I am sure my Jay never do anything wrong."

Jay hugged her again.

"I am lucky to have you as my wife, Vidya. I really mean it. I got angry with you when I saw someone holding your hand. But even after knowing that I had with Lasya, you forgave me."

"Because I know you will never be wrong. I love you. Now please get ready. Let's have the breakfast."

"Ok. I will drop you today," I said.

"No. I will go alone. Adi taught me the car driving. I will go by myself. As you said, I don't want to depend on anyone."

"That's fantastic. But...."

"In the evening, we will go out," Vidya said.

"I want to spend time with you but at our home," I said and Vidya agreed.

We were going downstairs and suddenly Vidya fainted. I caught her. I took her to the room and everyone came to her. I called the doctor. The doctor came and tested her.

"Congratulations, Mr.Jay. Your wife got conceived."

We all felt happy and Vidya looked at me, smiling. The doctor left and I asked everyone to give us some space. They left and Vidya sat on the bed.

"Jay, Aren't you happy? Don't you like to have child now?" Vidya said.

"No, Vidya. It's not about me. Actually you have a big goal before you. As I don't know about that, I came close to you. But now if you think it's an obstacle for your goal, you can abort our ch...."

Vidya placed her hand on my mouth and stopped me.

"No, Jay. What are you talking? How can you think like this? Our child is the symbol of our love. I can't do that. I will try handling both responsibilities if you support and help me."

"I am always with you. I will surely support and help you. Sorry if I hurt you by saying about abortion. I am really happy to know that you are conceived. But I hid my emotions as I didn't want you to get stressed."

I kissed on her stomach.

"This is for my child. Not for you," I said and Vidya smiled.

We heard the sound of door knocking. I opened the door. Shwetha and all came inside. Shwetha gave sweets to both of us.

"Bro, let's celebrate this occasion. Let's plan for a trip."

"No.We should be careful about Vidya. Let's celebrate but only at our home. Vidya, from today you shouldn't go anywhere alone. If you want to go anywhere I will come with you. If I can't, Adi or Karthi or Vikky will come with you. you must take proper diet and rest too. You shouldn't keep any tensions in your mind and share it with me. I will solve them.Whatever you want to eat tell me. I will prepare it or will bring it for you."

Vidya looked at me and suddenly everyone bursted out laughing.

"Jay, we know you love her a lot. But this is too much."

"No. I am sure thst she would never takes care of her. So these are necessary to tell her."

"Ok, I will follow all your rules, sir," Vidya said.

"These are not rules. I just want you to be careful. Atleast for our baby," I said and Vidya smiled.

"You guys go and make the arrangements for party."


They left to make the arrangements and I sat beside her. Vidya leaned onto my shoulder and rested.

"Thank you, Vidya," I said.

"For what?"

"For this amazing gift," I said keeping my hand on her stomach.

"I feel sleepy. Shall I sleep on your lap?"

I made her to sleep on my lap and caressed her hairs.

"Can you do one thing for me?" I said.

"I will do anything you say," Vidya said.

"Vidya, please don't inform about your pregnancy to your parents. Till your delivery avoid meeting them or else take me along with you if you want to meet them. Don't eat or drink anything they give to you," I said.

"Do you think they may harm our baby? I don't think so," Vidya said.

"Are you going to listen to me or not?"

"I will do whatever you say. Now don't be serious again please," Vidya said.

"Should I become romantic then?"

"Jay," Vidya said with a cute pout.

I smiled and made her sleep on my lap. I should keep her safe from all the dangers. She should be healthy and happy. I kissed on her forehead.
