Chapter Thirty Three

Jay PoV:

I called my friends but I didn't feel to share it with them as it's related to my wife. I didn't understand how to deal with this. How can Vidya and mom both be right? But, I trust both of them.

I suddenly remembered my old friend Jahnavi who is a gynic. I dialled her number immediately.

"Hello, Dr Jahnavi speaking"

"Hi Janu, this is Jay"

"Jay, do you mean Jay Ram?"

"Yes"

"Hey Jay, how are you? Where are you man? I just miss you a lot"

"Janu, Sorry for not being in touch with you all these days. I can't explain everything now. But I need a help from you as you are a gynecologist"

"Sorry Jay, I can't help you. See I am against abortions. I can't do that" she said confusing me.

"Hey Janu, it's not about abortion. I need to know about virgin test" I asked her.

"Jay please be as you are. Marry a girl only if you trust her. Don't trust virgin tests. Trust her heart man"

"Will you shut your mouth and listen to me once?" I said with irritation.

"I am sorry, tell me"

"Not in phone, tomorrow I will come to your clinic" I said

"Sure Jay" she said.

Next day I went to her and explained my problem to her.

"Jay, both your wife and mom also may be right. There is a chance for that"

"But how?"

"Don't mind, please answer me this question. Does your wife bleed after your first night?" She asked

"I don't remember. May be no Janu, I am not that harsh to her"

"No no Jay. I didn't mean it. There is an old belief that a virgin girl bleed in her first night after their session"

"What do you mean? Do you mean that Vidya is not virgin as she didn't bleed? Hell with those old beliefs. I trust her and I know she is a virgin" I shouted at her frustrated at her words.

"Wait Jay. I am just trying to make you understand. Jay, there is a thin skin tissue which covers her private part internally know as hymen. Most of the people believe it breaks down on her first intercourse with her husband and thus she bleeds, if she is a virgin. Usually in rural areas, brides are judged as virgin based on this.

But Jay, as a doctor I can say it's just a myth. Because now a days the life style of a girl changed drastically. They work a lot, daily they do a mini wrestling and other wars with city buses etc. So hymen may break anytime. Jay, a girl hymen may break even with a small exercise like walking. Only 0.5% girls may have hymen unbroken partially till marriage, but in the case of many girls, hymen breaks completely in her adolescence itself. So, she won't bleed after her first night but still she is a virgin.

By the way are you a virgin before marriage Jay?"

"Yes Janu, I am a virgin"

"Do you love your wife a lot?"

"Yes but why?"

"Usually girls bleed on first night because as boy is a virgin and he doesn't know how to deal with his wife. So, unknowingly they will hurt her. So most of the girls being biologically weak, they bleed and elders in the family believe it's hymen breakage. So, that custom is continuing till today"

"Ok but how is this related to virgin test?"

"Jay, virgin test is also done based on hymen breakage. I think as in the case of many girls, Vidya's hymen was broken naturally in her adolescence itself. You are also so careful about her on first night. So she didn't bleed.

I think your mom tested her based on hymen. So, report was shown as she is not virgin. I am not insulting your mom but seriously being a senior gynic, she should consider these facts. Vidya is a virgin and your mom is also right as she said what the report showed" Jahnavi said relaxing me.

Thank God, no one are wrong. I will definitely explain this to mom and will bring my wife to our home again. I miss Vidya a lot.

"You are welcome Jay. It happens in the case of many girls. Many girls were thrown out of their in laws home accusing them as not virgins just as they didn't bleed on first night. I had noticed this even in few families who are well educated too. This is a major problem which girls face especially in rural areas, even today. We can't trust reports all the time.

Anyways, I want to say one thing. I am very proud of you Jay. Though your mom said your wife is not a virgin, you still trusted your wife. If every husband is like you, no girl faces problem of being doubted by her husband and inlaws family.

Trust is must in a relationship and you proved the trust you had on your wife. She is very lucky. A couple undergoing HIV test before marriage can be supported but not virgin test. Many people doesn't know the fact that a girl's menstrual cycle will become problematic if her hymen doesn't break in her adolescence"

"Janu, if I need any help further, shall I call you?"

"Anytime Jay. Can you please show me the photo of your wife?"

"Sure"

I showed Vidya's photo to her.

"Did you marry her? Do you know who is she?" She asked me surprisingly.

"She is my wife Vidya. I didn't get you"

"Oh Jay, she is your secret admirer in your college days man, whom you too loved a lot without even seeing her. When you went abroad, we found her. We thought to inform you but your didi scolded us saying love without seeing each other is wrong. We tried a lot to contact you but you too didn't contact us"

I got surprised. Is she the one who is my first love? I never said this to Vidya anytime scaring that I may lose her love. Only because of her, I became a rock star. Her inspiration and encouragement made me successful. I didn't find her as Suhana didi hated love without seeing each other. I promised didi to forget her and I forgot her.

Lasya, is just a female singer in my band but she herself developed feelings towards me. But, I never loved her.

"Janu, do you mean Vidya is my secret admirer Sita?" I asked

"Yes"

She didn't say her original name to me. Instead she said if I am Jay Ram, then she is my Sita. Now she really became my Sita. But why didn't she recognise me? Why didn't she never talk about this with me? Who is this Neel and how he came into her life? Did she really forget her Jay Ram and loved Neel? Even though, after seeing me, she should recognise me. I didn't recognize as she hidden from me and I never saw her.
