Double Checkmate

"Harsh's point of view,"

"Harsh, what exactly are you doing here?" Seeing me here, Riya is the most surprised person in the room.

"I'm here to dispel some myths around Rachit." I responded while seated in the conference room's empty chair.

"What do you mean?" When I noticed Rachit's confused countenance, I felt a great sense of relief. But aside from Rachit, everyone on the board was staring at me in shock. And from the way Riya was gazing at me with her curious eyes, she was not even blinking.

"I'm going to call security right away to get you out of here because you may not meddle in our company's affairs in this manner." He gave me an evil-eyed stare.

Because of listening to him, I was not in the smallest bit furious at all—because if he knows the truth; it doomed all of his hopes and aspirations to fail. After hearing what he said, I remained silently observing the situation in front of me without responding.

"Harsh, please explain to me why you are here." Riya was becoming more and more curious and perplexed.

"You must leave now, or else I'll have to insult you to get you out of here." He dialed security and called inside the conference hall.

When the security guys were about to lead me out of the conference hall, my lawyer stepped in and stopped them.

"You can't evict the company's owner this way."
Everyone's attention was once again drawn to my face as soon as my lawyer made this declaration.

"What exactly did you say, the business owner?" Riya and Rachit asked simultaneously.

"Yes, Harsh Chopra is the actual owner of this business." My attorney responded to all the inquiries I received.

"Is this some sort of joke? Whoever is coming over here is introducing himself as the business's owner." A board member spoke obnoxiously.

"You are entirely correct; everything that has occurred so far has been a farce. Now, allow me to introduce you to the actual owner of this business." The board members eagerly awaited my speech after hearing from my lawyer.
However, I don't believe that this is the moment for me to speak.

"What gives you the right to call yourself the owner of this business when I already possess a 50% stake in Riya's business?" His rage was making things worse. That is what I desired. He had humiliated my Riya in front of everyone at the party, and I wanted to insult him the same way.

"No, when Riya signed the contract with you, she was only the owner of 50% of the shares of her company, as she had previously sold the other 50% to my client in consideration for the land purchase."

"It shows that I was the victim of fraud." Rachit's feet faltered as soon as he finished listening to my attorney.

"When did this happen?" Riya made it obvious that whatever was going on in this place was beyond her comprehension.

"Rachit Khurana, I was the one who was the victim of fraud, not you. You gave me half of the company shares you owned. You stated in the contract you signed with me I hold a 25% share of this company, whereas you were a partner with a 25% ownership interest. Right now, I have to accuse you of fraud." Rahul appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the show in front of him.

"Rahul, if you like, you can hire my attorney to represent you in court." I chuckled at that.

"You cannot deceive me in this manner. I still have her dream project." He was at a loss about what to do in this circumstance.

I felt a little bad for him, seeing how helpless he was, but he will have to pay the price for his deeds.

"I previously advised you to stop living in misunderstanding. As my attorney just informed you, Riya purchased the land on which the dream project was being built, making Riya the legal owner of that property."

I was attempting to read Riya's expression with my eyes. She seems confused and angry, and although I know why she is angry, I don't understand why she is confused.

"All of you have defrauded me. Even turning down a position in the wing industry was due to you. You have destroyed me. Have you forgotten how much you once loved me? You wanted to get married to me, didn't you? Please don't harm me in this way,
Riya. Please pardon me and offer me a job in your company." In front of Riya, Rachit was on his knees and pleading.

She always forgets practical considerations when she becomes overly emotional, something I am aware of due to how sensitive her heart is. Before Riya gets caught up in her feelings and forgives Rachit and gives him another chance, I need to take the next step.

With my eyes, I signaled Rahul to call the police standing outside the company to come in.
The cops quickly took into custody Rachit after selling Rahul the fraudulent shares.

"Rahul, was his arrest really necessary?" Riya once more became entangled in his emotional web, and what I had feared eventually occurred.

"Yes, he must pay the price for his actions." I went to Riya and gave her a firm response.

"You must not even dare to speak to me. Like Rachit, you were also cheating on me." Her rage finally erupted on me like a volcano.

"Later, when you're mad at me, let's take a moment to apologize to the board members for whatever inconvenience we've caused them." I said while grasping her hand.
She gave a head nod in agreement.

Her maturity gives me a lot of satisfaction. I am at a loss for words about how much my love for her grows when she puts her feelings aside and concentrates on her profession.

"I'm sorry for everything that has been going on here over the last few days. And I sincerely apologize for whatever problems I have caused you all. I have already introduced the real business owner to every one of you.
Harsh Chopra will make every business-related decision from now." She said, after glancing at me.

"No, Riya has always owned this company, and she will continue to manage it in the future. I did everything I could to prevent the wrong man from gaining control of your business. I apologize for wasting the board members' valuable time."
Despite their disapproving glance, the board of directors was happy that Riya Mittal was the sole shareholder.

The board members quickly left the conference room and walked out. No one else is in the conference room save me, Riya, Rahul, and my attorney.

"Please sign the ownership transfer forms for your business, madam." My attorney said in a terrified voice while holding the document in front of Riya.

"Do I also need to sign these forms in the next ten seconds, or will your boss fire you?" Today, I feel like I'm being burned by Riya's enraged eyes.

"You noticed the documents I got your signature on." Her expression is cuter when she's upset.

"Yes, in the backdate, you had deceptively purchased shares of my company from me." She gave a pouting response.

"Riya Mittal, You have impressed me." She is feigning anger against me, but she is not upset with me. But why? She knows well that I did all of this to protect her and her business.

"Rahul, how did you get involved in plan with Harsh?" Rahul came into view as Riya's question-filled stare turned away from me.
That poor person had never seen Riya's enraged expression. To appease her wrath, he was casting hopeful glances toward me.

"I was well aware of the true plans that you and Rahul were making."

"What?
Though how?"

She will be deeply hurt if I tell her the truth, but I don't want to tell her a lie because it did solely everything I did for her.

"My investigator is still watching you." I spoke in a tense tone and scratched my neck as I responded.

"But you informed me you had dismissed that detective." She slammed her palm down on the table and inquired aggressively.

"I told you a falsehood. Please forgive me, but I had no other choice because you have given me specific orders to remain away from your business concern, so in which manner do I have to help you? I dod wrong thing,Well, I accepted it." I replied by placing my hand on her palm.

"It implied that you didn't trust my abilities." I knew it would deeply hurt her after hearing me out, but how can I now persuade her that all I did was do just for her?

"It is not like that. I always had and will always have complete faith in your abilities. I simply didn't want to leave you in a sticky situation. If I'm there for you in every victory, then I owe it to you to help you through every setback. I am your soon-to-be spouse, so you cannot deny me of this right." I said while kissing her cheek.

"What are you doing?" She blushed as soon as I unexpectedly kissed her.

"You constantly claim that everything in love and war is fair." When she had finished listening, she hugged me and hid her head in my chest since she did not know what to do.

"Maybe it's best to leave the two loving birds alone at this point." I let my attorney leave after listening to Rahul.

"We have resolved all of our issues, Riya Mittal. Would you like to marry me and continue to have problems created by me in your life?" I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me while holding a ring in my hand.

"Yes, but even after getting married, I'll still be in charge." She reached out her hand to me while wiping her eyes. I slipped the ring onto her finger without waiting and quickly grabbed her lips with mine.
Today's kiss differed from any of the prior kisses in terms of its intensity. Everything between us felt perfect today.

Today I also realized why Riya had always shown such a strong preference for chess over all other games. After all, no other game offers the same enjoyment as declaring checkmate to win.
Rachit Khurana is my double checkmate today. As a result, I could reclaim my queen and release her kingdom from his grasp.
