Watching Cartoon
"Riya's point of view,"
'My business deal with Allen Industries has been signed,' I've left the premises, and I've texted Ankur.
In response to my message, Ankur offered a fresh question: 'What are your plans for tonight?'
'I'm not planning anything; I'll just sit in my hotel room and watch cartoons.'
He might not believe me after reading my messages, so instead of messaging me this time, he called me.
"Does Rachit have such an impact on your life that it's made you lose your senses?" He asked, annoyed, as soon as I answered the phone.
"No, there is no such thing; I signed this deal because of Mr. Joseph, not because of him." In the name of Rachit, how can he make fun of me like this? He know full well that I dislike him.
"Don't be offended; I was only joking. Tell me what you have planned for this evening," he said, his tone serious.
"Did you not read the message, as I informed you?" He was annoying me by repeatedly asking me the same question.
"Riya Mittal, the CEO of Wing Industries, whose entire staff trembles at her mere presence, watches cartoons in her spare time." He inquired, shocked.
"You don't make fun of me; I enjoy watching cartoons;" I have no cause to laugh now that Harsh is no longer in my life; watching cartoons reminds me of Harsh's cute facial expressions, which he frequently used while arguing with me.
"Would you like to go out with me today?" His tone of speaking was solemn.
"Where?" Where could he be able to take me? After all, he doesn't like to go outside at all. He scolded me for arguing and not responding to his point.
"Okay, you send the address, and I'll contact you." I don't want to offend my one and only friend. If he becomes enraged with me as well, I will have no one to share my misery with.
At 7 p.m., Ankur texted the address to my phone. The address he had shown was well-known for clubbing and dining. I did not know why Ankur had summoned me to this location.
"I've arrived at the address you gave me, but where are you?"I glanced all around, but there was no sign of Ankur.
"I'll be a bit late if you go to the club and sit at table number 7."
"Why, why are you asking me to wait? Do you know how much I dislike waiting?" I was furious with Ankur, wondering how he could do such a thing to me.
"I know, Riya Mittal doesn't wait for anyone, so what should I do? You're familiar with Gurgaon's traffic."He understood my irritated tone and expressed his helplessness in front of me.
"Okay, hurry along; I'll be waiting for you inside the club." After disconnecting the call, I took a deep breath and entered the club, sitting in the seat mentioned by Ankur.
There was a wide variety of people in the club. Some had come with their partners, some discussed business, and everyone was seated with someone or another who was busy with their work. In a crowd of so many people, I was the only one who was alone.
"Are you Riya Mittal?" A dashing young man approached my table and inquired.
"Do you have a problem with it?" I was not interested in speaking with that person at all.
With a big smile on his face, he asked, "No, I have no problem," and, "Can I sit here with you for a while?"
His physical appearance was undeniably alluring, but I've already been a big flirt and look cheat in my life.
"Mr., You may either go now or I'll file a complaint with the manager."
He said with a laugh, "Relax, Ankur was right about you. Handling you is not a simple task."
"What do you mean, it is not a simple task for me to handle? Do you think of me as a machine that needs to be handled? Wait, what did you say, Ankur, and how did you get to know him?" Hearing him irritated me greatly.
He said while sitting in the empty chair in front of me, "Well, Ankur is my cousin, and he has called me here to meet you."
"How is it that Ankur has summoned me to meet you? And you get out of here right away." I slammed my hand on the table and yelled at the top of my lungs,
"If I don't leave here, then?" He inquired, his eyes posing a challenge to me.
"As a result, I'm going to file a complaint with the manager here." I screamed fiercely when I heard his comments.
"What will you do if I tell you that the manager here will not take any action against me?" He inquired, his brows furrowed.
My indignation was at an all-time high after hearing his statements.
"Okay, you sit down, and I'll get up and leave." Listening to that man's statements angered me to no end.
"Riya, please don't become enraged like this. Surely Ankur had arrived by now;" he begged me to stay at the table as soon as I got up and moved forward.
"So, what exactly do you want from me right now?" I yelled at him in my rage.
"Please don't be offended; I'll give you my introduction first. Please come and have a seat here first."
"Okay, tell me who you are." I inquired as I leaned back in my chair.
"Hello, my name is Rahul, and you've probably heard of me;" he began repeating film phrases by extending his hand toward me.
I replied irritably, "No, I didn't hear your name."
He drew back his hand and sat quietly in his chair when I disregarded his outstretched hand.
"Sorry for taking so long to get here, Riya."
Ankur said as he sat in the empty chair by my side. "I hope Rahul didn't bore you too much."
"Someone will explain what is going on." I couldn't figure out why Ankur had introduced me and Rahul into the first place.
"Listen, this is Rahul, and this is Riya. In India, Rahul is well-known in the hotel industry, and I've previously told you everything you need to know about Riya. Now, I want both of you to have a good time on your date." He concluded his speech in a single breath and drank the entire glass of water from the table in front of him.
After listening to him, I grew irritated with him. How can he set up my date with someone without asking me?
"Do you have any other queries, Riya?" With a smile, Rahul, who was sitting in front of me, inquired.
"No, please leave Ankur and me alone for a while." I inquired, irritatedly glancing at him. After listening to me, he looked at Ankur. Ankur shook his head and motioned for him to go.
"Have you gone insane? How can you set up a date with somebody without informing me?" I asked him in an enraged tone as soon as Rahul left the place.
"So you want me to witness my friend yearning after a man who has long since forgotten about you and moved on with his life?" In an annoyed tone, he inquired.
"Ankur If you're concerned about my behavior last night, don't be; I'm perfectly OK; my emotions simply spilled last night, and there's no such thing." I was attempting to explain myself.
"Riya, it's not about last night; it's about how long you'll be alone in your life; you'll need support at some point. It's time for you to move on with your life." As he deliberated, he revealed his thoughts to me.
"Ankur There isn't anyone else that comes to mind. You're also single; have I ever forced you to go on a date with someone?" I know he wants to see me happy, but he doesn't understand why I don't want to date or get married now. I'm too tired to think about all of this.
"Okay, Riya, if you follow my words, you can at least befriend Rahul;" he drew a long breath and stared at me with hopeful eyes.
"Okay, fine, you may call him here; I'll be back in a few minutes." I stood up and walked away after saying this.
