My mole
Even though I know you're not mine, the thought of seeing you with someone else drives me insane.
"Riya's Point of View"
He tried to strike up a conversation by asking, "Are you going to Shimla for the first time, Riya?"
"Yes and You?" I asked, gently shaking my head.
"Yes."I've been there several times.
"Snowfalls are one of my favorite things to see."His eyes widened with delight as he exclaimed.
"I enjoy snowfall as well, but I can't stand freezing temperatures, so I avoid hilly areas, while Harsh prefers beaches." You know.., I came to a halt in my conversation while attempting to clarify for him an unspoken subject.
"If it's okay with you, Riya, I'd like to ask you a question." He inquired, his face solemn as he stared at me.
"OMG!"
"Finally, you're requesting my approval for something and are concerned that I won't be offended, implying that you're about to make a serious request."
I made fun of him.
"OK, then I don't ask," With a sad expression on his face he murmured.
"Come on, you can ask; otherwise, I'll be focused on that thing for the rest of the trip." I gave him a nod and motioned for the conversation to continue.
"Riya, I've been wondering since I first met you if the mole near your upper lip is real or if you wear makeup." Rachit asked, his eyes fixed on my features.
When I heard his question, I couldn't stop laughing.
"Was that something you wanted to ask me?" I asked, trying hard not to laugh.
"Yes, but what good does it do to laugh at something like that?" With a pout on his face, he inquired.
"Sorry, but I don't wear makeup on my face. I'm not a fan of cosmetics. And yes, this mole is real."
"You can see it," I said, perfectly positioning my face in front of his eyes and zooming in with one hand's fingers.
"Wao, I have to say that this mole enhances your beauty even more. " He continued, his gaze falling on the mole on my lips.
I exclaimed, "I have a lot of moles on my body, and they're all in perfect places."
"Really, can you show me?" It drew his attention to my words, so he inquired.
"Are you insane?" I fixed my gaze on him as I enquired.
I realized right away that I had just been to the excitement and had unconsciously revealed my big secret to him.
Rachit's gaze was fixed on my lips the entire time.
I immediately sat up straight in my seat.
I was remorseful for my blunder. In anticipation of his arrival, my face had heated, and I felt as if the flames of embarrassment would consume me.
He looked me in the eye and said, "It's okay, Riya; you have said nothing that makes you feel uncomfortable.
"I apologize for my behavior, but I get very excited whenever someone compliments me, especially with a mole."
Without looking at him, I said.
There was an awkward silence between us at this point.
I was still blushing from what I'd said. To avoid him, I started looking out the window again.
Rachit also didn't see the point in asking me any more questions.
Then I turned to face the other passengers on the bus.
Some people were staring out the window, others were dozing off because of office exhaustion, and still, others were talking on the phone. Everyone seemed to be preoccupied with their problems.
Fortunately, the rest of the passengers on the bus were completely unaware of our proximity.
Ashish was flirting with Shweta, but it preoccupied Shweta with Angad. Shweta likes Angad, but it's a private matter for her.
"Do you mind if I ask you a question?" I approached Rachit, who was engrossed in his phone and asked him a question.
"Of course," he said as he shifted his gaze from his phone to me.
"Do you have any girlfriends?" I inquired, my gaze returning to him.
In my heart, I prayed to God that he would say no.
What if he did have a girlfriend?
Why is this important to me?
I am not a teen who is acting this way, and I already have a partner.
Please refuse, even if you have a girlfriend. My subconscious and I have a conversation.
I became envious of his fictitious girlfriend without listening to his response.
Is she going to be more attractive than me?
She will, without a doubt.
Will Rachit have kissed her as well?
Of course, he kissed her.
Would he kiss her with the same passion that I did?
So, why did Rachit kiss me?
Is it true that you're flirting with me, Rachit?
Rachit had said that he liked me that day.
Please, Riya, put down your nonsense. At the very least, pay attention to Rachit's response.
My subconscious was chastising me. "Oh sure, you're right," I admitted, unsure of myself.
"Can you tell me why you're creating so much suspense?"
Rachit had been sitting silently for quite some time, so I inquired.
I don't know where to start. He took a deep breath and gave me a sidelong glance.
What is the reason for your girlfriend's betrayal?
Is she married to someone else?
Do you have a wife already?
Do you have a divorce on record?
Do you have a long-distance relationship going on?
What does she resemble?
When did the two of you first meet? What was the name of the place where you met?
What brought you together in the first place?
Have you been in a relationship for a long time?
Even though I didn't understand what I was saying, his expressionless face made me nervous.
I was so upset at the prospect of him having a girlfriend that I thought I was going insane.
He was paying close attention to my out-of-the-ordinary behavior.
He couldn't stop laughing when he saw how agitated I was.
He tried hard not to chuckle as he murmured, "Relax, Riya."
"No way, I can't."
"I'm unable to relax."
As I looked at him, my eyes were restless.
"I don't have a girlfriend," he explained, putting my mind at ease.
"No, you're lying," I replied, taken aback.
"I don't have a single woman in my life, not even as a friend, except for you."
He responded by staring me in the eyes.
"How is this possible?" I inquired, my eyes wide with perplexity as I stared at him.
"How come it can't be?" After noticing my sudden calmness, he inquired.
I told him that a boy like you is a prince charming to girls.
"Oh, you think I'm attractive?" With a sly grin on his face, he inquired.
I flushed my face with embarrassment once more.
"Riya, you're a moron. I've told you this a million times as you try to contain your excitement. What was the point of talking so much nonsense if it was only to embarrass yourself once more? "My subconscious chastised me once more.
"It's not about me; I was just telling you from the girls' perspective," I said, trying to defuse the situation.
"You're not a girl, are you?" With a wicked grin, he began mocking me back.
I pleaded with Rachit to "shut up," slamming my fist on his shoulder.
He exclaimed dramatically, "Ouch!"
It was eleven o'clock in the evening. On the bus, most of the passengers were sound asleep.
They turned the light on near the driver's seat. And turned the lights on the rest of the bus off.
I did not know that we had fallen asleep in the middle of a conversation.
I had resolved never to tell Rachit about my feelings, but based on my actions, it is unlikely that I will keep this secret for long.
