Epilogue

"Riya's point of view,"

"Riya, why are you wasting so much time getting ready today? Poor Harsh, have been waiting for you for so long." Sheetal walked up to me and said,

"Because my wedding is today, I had to get ready for it, including applying my makeup." I responded as I adjusted my earrings.

"Riya, I think you look stunning today. May God keep the evil eye away from you." Sheetal slipped a small dot of kajal behind my ear and murmured, picking up the kajal from the dressing table.

"Now that Harsh has already committed theft, no one even dares to steal Riya from him.
Am I correct, Riya?" As he walked inside the room, Rahul said.

"I promised Harsh that he would be the first to see me dressed as the bride, so why are you still standing here? Get out of here." I responded while covering my face with my hands.

"Riya, you did not accept my proposal; at the very least, you should have given me this right." I listened to him and could not stop giggling.

"You no longer playfully flirt with me; you are aware of how possessive my husband is if he is listening."

"Yes, I am the best one to know this." He responded by inhaling deeply.

"You're all busy gossiping here, while Harsh is in terrible shape, waiting for Riya." Ankur said as he entered the room.

"Don't look here, please." I remarked as I turned my face to the opposite side.

"Yes, I know that Harsh will see you today before I do. But how will he be able to see you if you don't leave this room?"
When I heard him, I glanced. We have wasted far too much time on gossip.

When I gestured towards Sheetal, she draped a veil over my face. As soon as I arrived at the wedding mandap, Harsh was already there. The Pandit was chanting in Sanskrit while seated in front of the blazing fire in the Hawan Kund.
From under my veil, I peered out to see Harsh looking extremely handsome in the groom's attire.

Today, I experienced an entirely uncommon emotion when Pandit asked me to place my hand on Harsh's palm. Harsh touched my hand today for the first time in front of such a large crowd. I felt shivers rise all over my body as I touched his hand. Today, I experienced something very new. Never in my life have I felt so calm.

The Pandit was continuously chanting the mantra and instructing the two of us on what to do and how to accomplish it.
When Harsh saw me after removing the veil from my face, his eyes didn't budge for a while. He looked away from my face when the pandit instructed him to tie the mangal sutra around my neck.

The fire encircling the Hawan Kund served as a witness as I took 7 rounds with Harsh after that. When Harsh covered my forehead in vermilion, I could not control my emotions. Harsh wrapped a mangal sutra around my neck and painted a vermilion on my forehead, and although I am the owner of such an enormous company, I have never felt more proud of my accomplishments than I did today.

"Why are you crying, Riya?" He enquired after noticing my tears.

"Considering that I currently feel as though my dream has come true,"

"In such a case, it suggests that you had fantasies about being married to me." He can start teasing me; there is never a good time for it.

"Harsh, why do you constantly make fun of me?" I gave him an angry, pretentious look before punching him in the shoulder.

"Ouch... Riya, what are you doing? You should respect me now that I am your husband and no longer your boyfriend." He responded by patting his shoulder.

"Shut up, you'll always be the same Harsh for me I've known since college."

"Riya, what you're doing is wrong. You recently assured me in front of all of our guests that you would always respect me, so why are you changing your mind now?"

"Harsh, I said nothing like that. The pandit was saying the mantra in Sanskrit, and as I don't understand the language, I simply shook my head in silence throughout." When he heard me, he burst out laughing. Although I didn't understand what was so amusing about it, I burst out laughing when I saw him holding his stomach in this manner.

"You and I just got married today, so what are you going to do tonight, Mrs. Chopra?" My body fluttered with butterflies as soon as I heard his alluring voice.

"I did not know that Riya Mittal could blush as well." As he kissed my earlobe, he said.

"Harsh, don't tease me like this, please." The moment he touched me, my mind immediately began racing with lustful thoughts.

"For the rest of my life, I may tease you with my affection." After saying this, he grabbed my waist and flipped me onto my side before quickly grabbing my lips with his lips.

"Riya, we've been married for 5 years; please stop wearing my t-shirt right now." As soon as Harsh noticed that I was wearing his t-shirt, he lost his cool once more.

"Why? After five years of marriage, is it against the law to wear my husband's t-shirt?" I replied by putting my hand around my waist.

"No, but I adore you in a saree."

"Indeed, why not?
I know you, don't you?
I should dress in a saree and be in the mood to romance you, as you demand."

My hair was still wet, so I untied the towel and began drying it.

"My junior gets excited just by looking at your wet hair, so I don't even need a saree to romance you." He then wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his head on my shoulder.

"Please don't be so romantic in the morning because I have a lot of work to finish." I attempted to escape his hold.

"Wasn't it a promise made to me at the time of our marriage that you would put me ahead of all your other duties?" After that, he began to playfully bite my earlobe with his teeth. He teases me constantly when I have to accomplish something urgently since he knows every tender spot on my body.

"Harsh, excuse me; Yash and Riha will be late for school since they are up. After that, I have to prepare breakfast for both of us before I go to work. While you are getting romantic in the morning, there are a lot of things to accomplish."

"Because both of my kids are incredibly smart like me, they won't bother us right now because they know dad is attempting to bring a new baby to play with them." He took me in his arms, carried me to the bed, and then put me down.

"We'll be late, Harsh."

"Don't worry, I'll just gaze at you silently."
All of my concerns and tension disappear completely whenever I feel the warmth of his palm caressing my face.

"Open the door, Mamma." Harsh moved away from me and sat on the edge of the bed as soon as he heard Yash's voice.

"Why? What has happened afterward and where has your romance's ghost gone?" I grin as I ask.

"Yash, just like you, is ruining my mood while my smart daughter Riha is still in bed." Harsh was whining like a child, and as I watched him, I giggled a lot.

"I was missing you, mamma."
My knees were immediately enveloped by Yash as soon as I opened the door.

"Just look at him; Yash is as cute as you, but not as aggressive as me. Like you, he raises the entire house on his head if I don't see him for a while." As I kissed Yash, I lifted him in my arms.

"Daddy, you said you would get my bag ready for school, but I have not yet it." When Riha entered the room, she yelled in a furious tone.

"Oh, Riya, I did not know you would rule over me with your daughter." After hearing Harsh, I couldn't help but chuckle nonstop.
Compared to my fury, Riha's anger is what he is most terrified of.

I recall getting pregnant a year after our marriage. Harsh and I used to argue about whether it would be a boy or a girl all day long. I wanted a cute son like Harsh, and he wanted an angry daughter like me.
Even on whether there would be a son or a daughter, the two of us had placed a bet.

I was completely unaware that not just one, but two babies were growing inside of me the entire time. My joy knew no boundaries when the nurse informed me I was the proud mother of not one, but two children. God answered both of our prayers. The bet between Harsh and me ended in a tie. God has made our hearts' desires come true.

Today, I am a successful businesswoman. I am a well-known business owner's wife. I am a mother of two kids. My spouse values me more than he values himself. Even before I can speak, he already has all my wishes granted. I love my life as a lady and am satisfied.

I no longer have any unfulfilled desires inside of me. With Harsh, I realized I had always felt complete. Harsh always made me happy. Perhaps, though, I could not recognize that not everything that glitters is gold, and as a result, Harsh's heart was broken.

I still feel bad about what I did, but I can't let remorse from the past ruin today. So I made a fresh start in my life and forgot everything. I've always worried that Harsh may someday humiliate me about my past, so I'm surprised that he has never brought up the painful memories of our past. I never dared to question him about why he mentioned nothing.

My unfulfilled desires may have been limited to my body only because he had already filled the whole of my soul with his love, so perhaps he understands this.

"We need to leave Riha and Yash at school and head to our office, so hurry, Riya. What are you thinking about right now?" After hearing Harsh's remarks, I sat down in the passenger seat of the car and let myself be sucked out of my thoughts.

True happiness comes from spending your entire life with a person you love more than yourself and who loves you back.
