Chapter 23
Elizabeth cannot begin to believe what has happened to her. She does not know where to begin to put the pieces together. It's all shattered into shards, she had something and now she was back to stage one. But in this instance she can feel the pain of something that she did not see coming.
Elizabeth is like her life is in turmoil. This is something that cannot be solved with communication or whatsoever. Her heart is beating, her hands are shaking. She's doing everything possible best to hold on to the fact that she is not bothered by the situation and she is not in so much panic, as she hoped to be.
But Elizabeth knows she's panicking.
More than anything she can tell her life is coming to pieces. Her heart is beating in the a crazy way, nerves are coming up could she have exposed herself in such a situation? Why did she her allow this to happen?
Elizabeth doesn't know where to start to begin to blame herself but what she does know is that misses something that shouldn't have happened. She blamed myself for she she blamed the fact that she trusted someone that she did not even know that more challenge brought about this today.
That part of which she begin to blame myself for she doesn't know. Her heart is not at rest. She's not feeling the best of herself as she heads out.
He threw her out of the apartment like she was nothing like she did not know, like he wasn't the one that took her for breakfast, like he wasn't the one whose joked she laughed at.
She doesn't know why. There is nothing in him at that moment that looked like what she saw in him before anymore. What was it?
What was it? Why wasn't it there anymore? What did she see before that made us so vulnerable? That and her place her defenses so low that he was able to come back and hurt her in this situation? She did not expect this she did not see this coming.
She's a journalist, she's supposed to be able to take tabs on people's words, she's supposed to see this moment. Elizabeth is supposed to know how to take note on all of these postulates or defenses. So why was a guard so down, that her instincts were not able to tell her what she should have seen.
And now that all he'll has broken loose, she doesn't know what to do about it. She takes a moment to take a deep breath even if that will not solve anything. Elizabeth takes a deep breath but does not improve our condition. It does not make her feel better.
Elizabeth pushes her hand through a she closes her eyes and bites her lips and regret all of it, it feels horrible. She feels sad and worse about all that has happened.
How will she begin to explain this to anyone? What and who exactly would she explain this to. That she was sent it to this small city for one mission and she could not even do that. And now he was going to make sure that he made her life a living hell.
How could she be so stupid and let herself fall into this trap that she did not see coming. What was it that she loved so much that she let her defenses so long? She has a husband she has a kid and if this was laid out in any situation and life would be over, so crumbling, crumbling down when it gets out that she's having an affair, or at least had an affair.
Elizabeth wants to scream in anger, she thinks she cannot even begin to take the first step to leave. She doesn't know who would understand the situation even she herself does not understand all she has sacrificed for a mere fleeting.
She wants to cry but crying doesn't solve the situation. She wants to scream but she's the one at fault. She doesn't know what to do. No one will understand her or pity her for this particular thing that has happened.
Her husband, she has a husband! What is he going to think when he hears the news? A kid, a job was at stake. Everything was in shambles. Everything was in made pieces already.
This wasn't happening. She says to herself even her when she knew very well that it was happening. Elizabeth knows more than anybody what has happened. She stood in front of him as he said all of those hurtful things to actually cannot even begin to explain to anyone or herself. Why that was so true?
She has a family, everything she has built in all of these years is at stake, and she was the one that does puts it into such situation. Elizabeth doesn't know when she begins to as tears leaks out of her eyes.
It falls down and rolls off her cheeks and it begins to rush out the moment she enters into her car and closes the door behind her. She wants to stop her nerves from messing with her so she can move away from this premises.
She wants to disappear as fast as she can. But she is in a very big mess and she knows more than anyone she knows she has done something she shouldn't have. She has played a very bitter part in this game and now it has come back to haunt her.
Elizabeth doesn't understand is why he is threatening her about the affairs going on in the sea that she came here to take investigation on. She tried to understand it but there was nothing.
Why exactly was he threatening her when it came to sea investigation that she was supposed to be accountable for. but as she puts two together. Her brows are knitted together as it comes into understanding.
The reason why he is threatening her might mean that there's really something about the sea affairs that she was supposed to find out. And assuming this nonsense had not occurred, she should have found that everything related to sea and that would have proved to be making the Mission complete.
But now with her own hands, followed by her fragile and vulnerable mind. She has destroyed everything.
The moment she realizes this and put these things together, she realizes how bigger the reality is. All of a sudden her mind is clicking and telling her that he has actually intentionally met her to put a stop to the process. It was all fake.
All forced.
And now she has no choice but to stop it unless he will release what he has on her image. And at the end of the day she would still be finished.
Realization hits her like never before and she feels so embarrassed about everything she has done that she doesn't even know if she will ever force herself, what are the words to use to define her stupidity?
How could she let our guards so down easily? Why did she do this? Why only she could go back in time and prove to put everything back into place. She will not make the same mistake.
But this is a different situation. And it does already be done. The only thing now was to find a way to learn from it. And that wasn't easy either. It wasn't also easy to look away for me because she was still in that time.
Elizabeth places her head upon the steering of the car as he has continues to move around and tears stain her cheeks as she places her hands upon the steering wheel, and she bites her lips as she raises her head back up.
She places in the car keys as she begins to drive out of the premises. She doesn't know what she will do next when she gets home and neither does she know how she'll get herself to sleep without remembering this occasion.
What would she tell them or what exactly would she put to submission for the organization the organization who were counting on her to come back with info that they need on what was going on at the sea and yet yeah the only thing she has done here was to put a stain on her name.
Derek successfully was able to get that on and now she's at the verge of losing everything. Leaving her with nothing but to surrender herself to defeat according to his intentions.
Elizabeth realizes that in this moment she has to choose between keeping a family, career or at the end of the day losing both of them for the sake of finding out what is on the sea that she knows they are desperately trying to hide.
But she knows her family means everything to her. What's curiosity? If at the end of the day she loses her family?
