Chapter 44

After violet found the book for the guy who came to borrow one in the exact place where he would find it.
The guy started laughing and Violet was surprised. She wondered what was wrong and why he was laughing.
He said he only wanted to get her to stand up so he could see how beautiful she looked. Violet was very offended. This young man just disrespected her on her first day of work.
It seems like Taylors town was filled with a lot of spoilt children from rich parents. Violet felt insulted.
She could not really give the exact reaction she wished to give so handed the book over to him and gave him an unfriendly look, then he left back her space in the library to record his information.
The young man followed her back to her position I started talking a lot of trash with the asked her what her name was and she told him.
"Well, violet still was the beautiful girl like you doing in a place like this?" he said.
Valid did not even know how to react to this rubbish.
"Can you just borrow your book and get out of my face?" she requested.
"Wow Fierce!" He said and walked away. Violence was already bad and so it's not non yet. She tried to try to be calm and continued the reading of her book from where she stopped.
Later another voice said in front of her I want to borrow a book. Violet hoped it wasn't another scum like the last one. She wanted to give a mean reply but the voice sounded familiar so she looked and saw it was Steel standing there expensively. looking beautiful in all his glory, with his eyes glowing like the sun.
Violet could not contain herself. She jumped on him and she held on to him so tight. Steel could not say that he did not expect that reaction. But you thought at least he would comport yourself in a place of work.
"Have you gone mad." Steel asked as he chuckled.
"Oh sorry." Violet apologized when she realized how much dramatic she was. She pulled him out of the library and hugged him more.
" Why did you abandon me for so long and where have you been." She said.
Steel could not deny that he actually liked the reaction and he returned the hug. Violet at peace as steel hugged her. it was the first time that Steel ever showed her his emotions. She wouldn't call I emotions though but it felt real.
"Would you like to go for a ride?" He asked so he could have the opportunity to talk to her and just be around her.
Violet felt on top of the world when he said this.
"Wait you want us to hang out together?" she tried to hide how happy she was but she ended up blushing.
Violet told him that this was her first day at work and she was occupied and it will not be a good look on if she decides to just take a stroll out of the office during our office hours.
Steel did not complain. He said that it was alright and he would come back some other time but Violet was not ready to let him go. She said she wanted his phone number this time.
Steel smiled and told her to bring out her phone so he put his number in it. Violet was very excited that she can finally reach him whenever she wanted but that didn't make any difference to steel because he could reach her whenever he chooses.
Steel told her that he was in a hurry and he just needed to check up on her and he would see her again. Violet was not ready to let him go but she asked She was so glad that he came around. She hugged him and he left. Violet could not believe that Alucard Steel returned her hug and showed a bit of emotion. She smiled all the way back inside the library. When she got to the library people gave her some kind of look that she did not understand so she just quietly went back to her position. As she sat back on her chair thinking about how she thinks Steel is in love with her, and how their life will be together in the future. A few minutes after she was seated, her boss called her to his office and she went.
He asked that what all that was about and has she forgotten that the library is meant to be quiet. Violet apologize for the public display of affection in a place of work told her boss that it was a very old friend that went missing for a while and she is just seeing him for the first time since that. Her boss was intrigued by her story and he sympathized with her. He told her to keep noises out of the library.
Violet did not feel happy because she wasn't able to follow him when he invited her out for a ride. She was scared that he would disappear again like he always does but at least she had his number this time. The last time she saw steel was over five months. That is such a long time and such a long distance relationship she thought. He actually came all the way check up on her, this must be love she concluded. She thought of how right she was when she told Luca that Steel has a crush on her.
Violet was so excited that at a point, she had to stop to check if she was if she was alright. She was actually excited for werewolf. She did not know what had come over her. But she knew that whatever it was, she did not want to leave. Because this feeling was new, superb and it felt great.
Later one of her colleagues in the library, Cate approached her and asked her who the young man who just visited her is. Violet was surprised, it seemed that she did not only make a scene but she also gave people something to talk about.
Cate also worked at the library and when she saw violet today she was one of the people who concluded that Violet is probably a bored she of a rich husband who just wanted to worked because or how beautiful she looked and how expensive she dressed.
"Hey V." Cate said as she approached Violet.
Violet wondered if she was talking to her. and why she was calling her V, they are not even friends and she is already giving her a nickname.
"Hi..." Violet said because she never caught her name.
"Was that your husband?" Cate asked her. Cate did not think violet would be married to such young and rich man. If she was married to a rich man, then it would be that she married her sugar daddy. But girls married to their sugar daddies would never even work at a library so she was very curious.
"Oh no, he's my friend." Violet replied. "And why do you think I'm married." Violet asked because she was sure that she did not look like a married person.
"Well you live in Taylors right?" Cate asked.
"Yes so, is everyone here married?" Violet wondered where she was going with her point.
"So the people around here are quite comfortable but a junior librarian's salary is not enough to sustain you here so you are either married to a rich man, have rich parents, or you're a stripper or a sex worker. But I marked two out already for you which leaves to you being married. I mean if you have rich parents, you won't be working here as a junior librarian." She blew a raspberry.
Violet was marveled at how much she analyzed her life without even knowing her.
"Sorry I did not catch your name the first time." Violet said.
"Oh its Cate." she smiled.
"Hmm Cate, so where do you fall in this category?" she asked.
"What category?' Cate asked.
"The ones you listed moron." Violet said with an angry smile.
"Hey take it easy, I'm just trying to be friendly here." Cate said.
"Then maybe you should read your friendship pamphlet all over again because you obviously learnt nothing from it. But if you are that, I am a sex worker. Now you know so move on." Violet said.
Cate rolled her eyes at her. she wondered why she was so mean to an ordinary friendship gesture and she went to gossip with the rest of her colleagues.
Violets first day at the library was meant to be terrible due to the nosy punk and the rude teenager but it was saved her knight in shining armor. Violet was impressed on how she handled her anger today by just dishing out little insults with a smile on her face.
