Chapter 58

After Drake left the police station, he called his employer and they plan to meet up at a place. Drake waited for her at a small diner and she came in to see him.
"Hi, Drake, how are you?" Sandra asked.
"Please don't ask me. The police are suspicious and they started asking questions. Why are they asking me questions?" he said angrily.
"Look, calm down. Nobody has to know that you are involved in this." Sandra said.
"No, don't tell me to be calm Mrs. Carrington. You gave me a job and I did my small part for you it for you.
But you did not finish the job. Now the job is falling back on me. I don't want to get any question in from the police. I should have the rest of my payment and flee now."
Drake said.
You said Sandra had hired Drake to help her keep watch on violet all this while and she got inside information about violet from him.
Drake tried his best to keep up with everything that was happening in violet's life so that he can report back to Sandra.
And of course to Sandra, and of course, Sandra paid him heavily for that. Although she had only paid him half of the agreed payment till the job is done.
"Now, I don't want to be in this town again. Just give me my full payment and let me go." Drake said.
"Look we have bigger issues than money Drake." Sandra said.
"What do you mean by we have bigger issues. You've done work? She's dead now. Isn't she? Now pay me. Let me move on." He said
"She is…We're not sure if she's dead. Drake. Something terrible happened. Something I cannot even describe. I don't think you're ever going to believe me. If I tell you what happened. All the men are dead. She was saved… No. I don't even know if she was saved. But all my men were killed." She explained.
"They were killed by who? Who knew she was going to be there." Drake asked in surprise.
"By something I don't know. A wild animal or a monster. I have no idea." Sandra stammered.
"What are you saying to me, Sandra? It sounds like you're just making excuses. So that you won't have to pay me. What do you mean by Monster? And what do you mean by wild animal? How can a wild animal just stroll into the warehouse? This is just for Preposterous. Is this the excuse you want to give so that you won't complete your payments?
It doesn't even make any sense and it doesn't sit right. It doesn't suit you right, because you are very influential. So money should not be your issue. Are you just like this or what?"
Look, Drake, I am going to give you all the money I owe you. But we are not done with this job. Okay, so now that a wild animal attacked your men, how did you escape? The wild animal left me. My husband was there. The creature brought my husband all the way from home to the warehouse." She tried to explain.
"It brought him all the way and nobody saw a wild animal walking from the road with your husband to the warehouse. This just sounds very stupid. Look, I don't want you to insult my intelligence ma'am. But I just want my money okay?"
"You have to calm down okay. I did not say I won't give you your money. I will pay you all of it. Right now. I am not sure if the girl is dead or alive."
"Sandra said you said a wild animal attacked you and it left you and your husband then it left. Who else?" Drake tried to entertain her
"I don't know we did not find the body of the girl when we woke up."
"That means she's dead. A wild animal we are her or something
Cannot just take her for keeping that does not make any sense because she is no Tarzan. If it is really an animal, I'm sure she has been eating or something which is an even better story." Drake analyzed.
"Or you think so?" Sandra asked cos she needed convincing.
"Yes, I do." He said.
"But also I heard the wild animal talk." Sandra added.
"Oh my god. Please I don't want any more of this, no more. Can you just let me go please?" Drake said in frustration.
Sandra brought out Drake's check from a purse and handed it over to him. Drake thanked and walked away from the Diner.
When the police looked into Violets case, they realize that another detective was already on the case. So, they concluded that they were going to leave the case over to Detective Cooper to go on with it. Luca was not satisfied with this.
"Detective Cooper is taking a piss can you get him off the case?" He told other officer at the station.
"What are detective Cooper done to you?" The officer asked. "You are looking for a missing girl and he's trying to look for everything around him is missing girl's case." He said.
"Detective Cooper is just trying to rope the girl into his mysterious case." Luca said.
"If the missing is involved in any shady case, than we need to investigate it more so that we can find her." the officer said.
"But she is not involved in anything shady, she is just a simple girl." Luc stressed.
"You can't teach us how to do our job sir, I will advise that you exercise patience." The officer said as he dismissed Luca.
Detective Cooper was called around and questioned about the case and he said that he was trying to connect the case to make the case easier. He told them that he had earlier suspicion about the girl and what she is really into.
The detective's boss then asked him what he really thinks Violet was into and who we thought she was involved then Cooper began to beat around the bush saying that he is still trying to connect the cases.
His boss angrily told him to stop pissing around the case for his own stupid gain and concentrate on the missing girl.
Cooper then decided to visit Chris's wife.
He asked Sandra what our relationship was with Violet and she told him that Violet was dating her husband.
He then asked her what actions she took to make sure the violence stopped dating her husband. Sandra is a very proud woman. So when the detective came around asking stupid questions, she was able to hold herself high.
"Detective. How would you feel if you find out that someone was dating your wife?" She asked rhetorically.
"Yes. Well, I took different actions to I make sure that my husband did leaves her alone." Sandra told the detective all about how she made a loser job and how she also made a loser house. She said she wants she tried to render her useless and send it out of the city so that she will leave are abandoned and the last time she did Violet literally left the city and she has been satisfied with that so now that his detective is telling her about her going missing she is surprised.
The detective was not convinced he said if she was able to take such actions the maybe she could also render her missing. He also said that maybe she followed violates her new city.
"Oh you think I am this jobless detective? No this young woman was this in my house man I faced my house and they realize he made a mistake. If he really wanted this young woman, he would have left me for her. it is Just normal human feelings Understand? Anybody can feel this way We My husband was cheating on I made it and I made that bitch pay." She said.
"Okay, fine. You made his made his mistress pay, what did you do to make your husband pay?" Cooper asked?
"I don't know; he is paying every day for it. But we are still together. It doesn't mean we are going to leave each other. I just wanted that rat to feel how it feels when she dates someone's else's husband.
I mean, girls these days just go about, looking at other people's husbands and shit. I wouldn't tolerate that and that's new, that I am married. I am a very influential person. I can ruin a life. I made a lose a job her apartments.
But apart from that, that is all I know about. I've never even seen this girl before. But I put action in in place. But look, I am not capable of hurting her I would never do that. What I think I can do with my influence and power I have done but I will never stoop so low to kidnapper. What am I going to do with it is just a waste of body and a waste of time?" She said.
