Chapter 36

Steel has always had Dominique's back and Dominique's loyalty lied only to him.
She had been through the thick and thin with steel and they were always there to help each other.
One time she had a very bad relationship which took everything from her, where she was very much in love and stupid that she didn't realize that her enemies were trying to beat her down with fake love, by finding what made her really powerful and taking it away from her for their own interest. They conspired against her and sent her a man that suited her needs. Dominique fell very hard for him and he almost broke her. The relationship cost her so much but with the help of Steel on her side, she always got back on her feet.
Dominique used to have a life but her being always checkmated with her in this game of life. She lost her life and happiness to her powers.
A long time ago she decided to stay far from Steel and have a life of her own. She used to have a husband and children too but when her enemies could not get to her, they got to her family because they knew that her family is her weakness. Her enemies were able to eliminate her family so this made her furious. Dominique's family was everything to her and she would die for them. She would give up all her powers if she had to but she was unable to.
Her greatest enemy Arya adopted her family because she wanted to be the greatest due to a power tussle between powerful sorcerers and witches at the time. Arya was a powerful and greedy sorcerer at that period but she couldn't stand the rumor that said Dominique was the most powerful. She wanted Dominique's power for herself. Arya had rendered many other witches useless by stealing what made them powerful but it was not enough for her. She knew that she wouldn't be able to get Dominique's power that easily. The only way to get Dominique's power was if she gives it to you voluntarily, but even Dominique didn't know how to let the power go.
When Dominique's family was adopted, she was ready to let it all go but the power in her had bigger plans for her. It would not leave her. Arya killed Dominique's family but still did not get what she was looking for.
When she found out that her family was killed, she brought down destruction upon everyone in the village, not even an ant could survive her rage. She called upon Gnyte and told it to leave her alone or kill her but Gnyte told her that her destiny was different.
Dominique realized that she can never change who she is and she had accepted that this is who she is so she and this made her go back to Steel.
So she tries not to get herself in anything too emotional or anything that might have a bad repercussion. She is very careful with what she put out there although Steel is the only one that knows that she still has a child somewhere out there.
Dominique lost love and everything that was worth living for. Dominique realize that the moment she stopped thinking like a human is the moment she will start living. So she saw everything a normal human wanted as vanity and choose to chase more power and she has it.
Steel knows that Dominique always has his back and when she tells him that she has got something covered he trust in her words.
Now that Dominique wasn't around to look after his dynasty, Steel is in charge and he could not let anything distract him.
What if the enemies knew that Dominique was in a usual spiritual trance, will they try to attack his dynasty? Steel thought.
Violet on the other hand was tired of staying at home she, decided not to give up and keep applying to other companies so she sent out several other applications even though the last application process was a disappointment.
Drake had been very considerate during this period. Sometimes he spends his spare time with her so she wouldn't feel too lonely. Sometimes he takes her out too and they were finally able to go on that on that date.
Violet started getting closer to Drake and she realized the he was really cool and 'dateable' but there was just something about him that she couldn't place a hand on that was stopping her from giving him a full chance.
Drake has been very helpful to Violet, he even sent her some application which he came across so that she could apply for it. He was in every step of the way and was very enthusiastic about her getting a new job. With All these Violet was still not as free as she would be with him.
When Chris heard that Violet was struggling with a job he tried to help her secretly but his wife was always a step ahead of him concerning issues with violet everything he did. Sandra did not want to accept that it was her husband who was chasing Violet. She only believed what she wanted to believe which was; it is Violet who is trying to ruin her a marriage. Barbra tried to advise Sandra to leave Chris alone, that he was really invested in this young girl but Sandra had made up her mind that Chris was a good person and he was just being tempted by some young blood and she was going to get this young blood out of his system as soon as possible.
An Intel gave information out to Sandra about how miserable she violet is. Sandra was happy to hear about this but she was not satisfied.
She believed that violet on relationship or the other with her husband and that was why it couldn't stay away from her. She had bigger plans for violet.
Chris tried to get violet's attention and he knew she was struggling so he sent out an anonymous package to but the package wasn't as anonymous as he thought it would be because she knew exactly who it was from.
Violet was home alone when she heard a knock at the door.
It was a delivery man who came to deliver a package to her. She wondered who it was from. She collected the package went inside to open it. She found $10,000 cash in the envelope and she was shocked. Violet knew exactly who it was but she wasn't going to reject it she had rent and other bills to pay. So she accepted it open hands and Chris immediately.
"I saw what you sent. Thank you very much." She said.
"Violet I'm really sorry, I wish I was with you through this time…"
Violet cut him short quickly
"Look I'm going to accept this. I really appreciate you thanks for giving me money but I'm accepting this as money from an ex-lover that is all." She said.
"Violet I am trying my best here. What do I have to do to get you back?" he asked in frustration.
"I don't know." she replied "But really, thank you Chris" she said and hung up the phone. Chris was happy. He could see he was getting somewhere with this.
He just needed to put in more pressure and so he would have her where he wants her.
Violet could not deny that the money put her in a wonderful mood. She decided that she was going to live her life with it and spend it on anything without thinking.
So she thought about going on vacation and she made plans towards it.
Drake came to visit her and saw that Violet was in a very good mood, he asked what made her so happy.
She told him that she received an anonymous help from someone she doesn't want to talk to but she can't reject such wonderful gesture.
Drake got a little bit jealous
"This person we're talking about it a girl or guy?" he asked.
"Why?" she asked him.
"I just wanted to know and also I wanted know where I stand." He asked.
"We are friends, what are you trying to do here? And what do you mean by where you stand? " She said.
"Violet? I've been asking you out for a while now. I think I've been nice enough and I've tried everything possible to get you to be mine. Why does it seem impossible to get you?" he asked.
"It is not impossible to get me." she said "And you being nice to me does not mean I'm going to date you. if you're being nice just because you want it to date me, that means you're not a good person. You don't just put on an attitude like a cloth because you want to date some girl! is this who you are or you are pretending? Violet said angrily.
"Violet I'm very sorry. I just thought we have something you know?" he said.
" I don't know! I don't know anything. I'm in a situation right now. I don't know if my head and mind is ready to date right now. But look I like we have we are good friends and things are just fine." She said.
"No violate, I want you to be my girlfriend." he said.
Violet can't lie she wasn't expecting it but She just never imagined herself in a romantic relationship with Drake. She thought about giving it a chance after all. She had not been good judge of character and many relationships she found herself in, she was always the one falling hard for the guy even before he the relationship started.
So this time she thought to do something different this time and give it a try with him.
But she just couldn't get herself to agree to this in reality, only in her head.
Chris was in his house feeling very positive about his day. When Sandra asked him why he was in such a good mood. Chris held here and spin her around while giving a beautiful kiss.
Sandra could see that Chris was in a good mood and she was here for it. She asked him to share his reason and he said he is just lucky to have her as his wife.
Sandra blushed after she heard this. Later he decided to take her out to dinner.
So when they got back from dinner, he made sweet spontaneous love to her. Sandra felt that these things brought her closer to her husband. She knew that their relationship was a bit shaky due to his cheating but she also felt that this had brought them closer especially since she found out about the relationship and he had apologized to her.
Now she is closer to her husband and she loved it.
Violets is getting concerned about not hearing from Steel. She was worried. She wondered if he was still he this city. The silence from him had been so loud that she thought she might never see him again. I mean she had gone through a lot of situations and he was always there in tough situations. So she wondered what could be wrong this time. Is it that he had no more interest in their friendship or what? She was worried she did not know where to find him. She thought of how she should have taken the offer of going to see his house, at least when he disappears like this again, she can't pay him a visit. She thought maybe the reasons for his absence was because he realized that she had been closer to someone else. Or that she is closer to being in a relationship. She wasn't even sure if she wanted to be in this relationship with Drake. She just wanted to try something different this time.
But Steel did not care about that, at least she knew that about him. Steel is not a person to just back off like that after all he had once been in our room after she finished having sex with another man. Violet smiled about this.
The Last time she saw Steel was in a dream and she thought maybe that meant something. Is he dead? She thought No he can't be dead vampires are immortal. She also convinced herself
She had started longing for Steel. Could it be because of the distance they always kept between them She wondered why she has found herself wanting to see him all the time. Am I liking this guy? She thought it can be possible, like he is a vampire. It's not possible it comes to liking him. I can't be liking him is a vampire. No, it's not possible. She tried to convince herself she had never wondered what dating a vampire would look like. She also wondered maybe Steel might like her too. Could that be why he chose to pay her a visit? Maybe that's why she didn't find Drake good enough for her to date. She thought maybe because she was liking something that she can't reach.
She thought should be having feelings for someone who is unreachable. Violate had to sit herself down and think about what her heart is doing to her.
She didn't want to fall into another weird situation where it will be very difficult to get herself out, so she had to hold back everything she thought she was feeling because it doesn't make sense to her logically. But who said love has to be logical? She thought. I cannot be thinking about this I need to stop. She said in her mind just get her mind away from it.
But what really could make her fall in love with this person?
Was it just because he looked very appealing to the eyes?
Or was it the way he talked? Was it his pride? Was it the way he walked into a room like he owns the place?
Was it the way it made her feel calm even though he was danger? Was it because she believed every word he said even if it was in her dream?
Was it the way he checked up on her unannounced and can't admit that he cares about her because he is an egocentric punk?
Was it the way you made comments about her stupidity and also made it seem hilarious at the same time?
If truly she has feelings for Steel she needed to know everything about him and out. She only knew what he showed her. She knew that there was a part of him that might also feel the same but he just hides behind his beautiful pride
This made violet want to find him more but she couldn't. If he truly read her mind, she was hoping that he would read it now and he would come to see her now.
Meanwhile, Steel was keeping his fortress strong as Dominique was not around to hold it down. Keeping his fortress safe included keeping Dominique's physical body safe. This was the time she was most vulnerable and anyone could get to her easily. But this was just a small price to pay for the amount of power she would have accessed when she gets back from her trance to the spirit world. That is why she only told Steel where she was going.
Her soul has travelled wild but if any harm could come to her body or her gained access to her body, she might get stuck in the spirit world and it will make it difficult for her to come back to the world in that body.
On a beautiful evening, while Steel was in his Manor, he received a visitor. He was frustrated at the sight of his visitor.
"You again?" He said.
"Hello lover." She replied. Don't you miss me?
"What do you want Tabitha? He asked.
"Hey, what do you mean? I just want this check upon you and I realize that you've not been out as often as you used to be." Tabitha said.
"Are you monitoring my movement now?" Steel asked
" No, no, I'm not. I just realized I stopped seeing you in town."
" Look, Tabatha. Just tell me what you came here for." Steel sighed like he was fed up.
"Not I just wanted to see you because I missed you." She said.
Steel gagged "Get to your point please." He just wanted to dismiss her.
Tabitha smiled "And also, I realized that I haven't seen the witch, where has she been?" She asked
"Why are you asking me for her whereabouts she doesn't live here." Steel said.
"Really? She doesn't I thought you guys are very close." Tabitha said.
"You know where to find her." Steel rolled his eyes.
"Oh, I've been to her house and I did not see her there." Tabitha said.
"Maybe she is not around or something? Or maybe she doesn't want to see and she's running away from you. I would understand that cos I don't either, You're, trouble man." Steel mocked her.
"Hmm Sweet trouble you mean?" She added.
"Look Tabitha…" Steel was ready to send her off.
"Hey, don't Tabitha me!" She cut him short.
"But seriously, I've missed you. Don't you miss our time together?" Tabitha said.
"No! And that is in the past. It doesn't matter." Steel said.
"We could just try to recreate old memories you know" Tabitha said.
"Oh dear, I'd rather drink Holy water for wine and have an Indian supper! I don't know what you're talking about and I don't wish to know so please Stay away from my castle." steel said.
"Castle? You are too proud and annoying Steel. Anyways, right now I don't do men, I have sweet a girlfriend." She bragged.
