Chapter 40

"Is this the attitude you want to take to court? Now you don't get the check either! Either. How's that, you stupid hormonal bitch?" he said as he breathed heavily and took the check with him.
Eric tried to get her calm, and took her inside the house to get her away from the piercing eyes of her neighbors. When they got inside he told her how he has never imagined her as a fighter. He told her that he always thought she was just a cool librarian who does not want trouble.
"Girl you really gave that guy a piece of your hand. I did not know you were this wild'' Eric laughed.
Violet busted in tears. Eric wondered what he had said to make her cry and started apologizing for what he said.
Violet said she did not know what came over her but that landlord had it coming. She explained what happened to Eric and Eric was perplexed. He said the land lord should be sued but Violet's little Charade with him has made her lose points. Violet became frustrated. She did not even know what cane over her but he felt really irritated by the landlord and something just busted in er.
Violet explained all that had happened to her roommate. Mara was pissed. She yelled at violet for getting physical with the landlord. "It's like you don't think sometimes, how can you get physical with the owner of the house? How can you be this foolish?" she said.
"Why are you getting mad at me? You should channel your anger and that nitwit that is trying to cheat us not me!" Violet yelled.
"You did not just lose your job, now you are losing your apartment and your fuckin mind. I can't with you anymore! We could have had something to hold on to, but no, you had to be stupid!" Mara yelled angrily.
"Why are you saying all these to me? Did you have all these reservations about me before?" Violet was hurt.
"You have become myopic and you have also stopped thinking! I can't believe you lost the check too! Mara yelled.
"I'm sorry you feel this way about me. Don't worry I'm going to return your share of the rent. I'm really sorry." She said as she held back tears.
"And with what money will you do that?" Mara walked away.
Mara was mad at violet especially when she heard that he brought a check of the rest of their rent. She decided to go and see the landlord and apologize to him but he was not willing to listen to her apologies. Mara did not know what to do.
The next day, they got a letter of quit notice to vacate the house as soon as possible.
It was at this point that violet started understanding that someone was out for her down fall.
Mara and violet had no time to prepare so because their quit notice was very quick.
When Lucca heard about this, he did not know wat to do. He wondered who was really out to get his best girl. Lucca begged violet to stay at his until she gets back on her feet and she did not decline his kindness. Meanwhile Mara decided to stay at her boyfriend's till se gets an apartment. She told violet in an argument that she is not sure that she wants to stay in an apartment with her anymore because she had too much baggage and she had stopped thinking with her head. Violet was sad when she realized that this is how MARA felt about her. Her insecurities grew worse and she was depressed.
Violet told Drake about her landlord situation, he then asked her to stay with him but she declined. She said she didn't want to complicate their relationship and give each other the wrong ideas. She told him that she preferred to stay with someone she was closer to which was Lucca.
Perhaps she had only known Drake for a short while so she preferred to stay with the devil she knew rather than the angel she wasn't sure about. Drake had reservations about all these but he kept it to himself.
Violet felt like her world was crashing down. Her closest friend who is her roommate just said the harshest things to her, her apartment was taken away from her and she was jobless too. No she is a squatter with no hope. Violet felt like she has hit the lowest lows of her life. Is this what her life has become? She was a bright student in school and it isn't like she couldn't get a job but it just seemed like someone was going extra miles to make sure that her life is miserable. Violet was deeply falling into depression.
When Chris heard that violet lost her apartment, he couldn't just sit and watch, he made arrangement to get her a new place as soon as possible bit the problem was to get Violet to come to the apartment.
Violet was sitting in Luca's house, going through some applications she had sent before but she got no from any of them, so she sent her new ones. Her phone rang, and it was Chris.
Chris begged her not to hang up the call so she didn't. he told her to check something out in a given address. Violet was reluctant and told him that she doesn't have anything to do with him. Chris begged her and promised that he wouldn't be there that he just wanted her opinion on something very important so Violet decided to go.
She wasn't ready for any Chris's nonsense but she was bored at the same time so she decided to go check out what was so important. When she got to the said place, someone came to meet her and invited her to check if the apartment was to her taste. Violet realized that Chris had gotten her a new apartment. She did not know how to feel but she felt Very grateful. She called Chris while she was there he told her how sorry he was about her losing her apartment and begged her to accept his little gesture. She was so excited that she could kiss him right now if he was right in front of her. She wondered what she would do without him. Even with the fights they had, he was still always there for her. these is just little out of the things that made her fall in love with Chris. He is very caring and considerate. But she couldn't have him for herself as it seems. He couldn't do the one thing that would bring them together, instead all he did was lie about that and Violet cannot forget that.
She appreciated him. The apartment was really beautiful. Violet ran through the house to check it out and it was very decent and also to her liking. It had two rooms just like the last one but it was more spacious and classy.
Violet could not stop thinking what Chris had done. In fact, with all this, she thought about going back to him. But was it really worth it? She was jobless. She had a young man a sugar daddy tendency who would do anything for her except leave his wife and now the wife knows about them. It seemed like a win lose situation to her.
Violet called Mara to tell her the good news. She had forgotten about her fight with Mara. When she told Mara about the house she was excited and she immediately told Violet that she has been meaning to apologize to her for all the harsh things she said to her when she was angry.
Violet had already freed her mind of all that although she was hurt in the moment but she has a good heart.
The next day Violet and Mara got a moving truck to take them to their new space. It was a stressful chore but it had to be done. Luca took a break from work and assisted them in the movement. When they got to the new place, they were marveled because the environment was more calm and peaceful and the house had quite a space. After Mara saw all these she immediately regretted all she had said to violet when she was mad and wanted to take it back. Though Violet had her crazy side but things did work out for her when and she was full of surprises. Mara was still feeling a little ashamed to move in with violet because she had said that she doesn't want Violet as a roommate again when she was angry, but who wouldn't? Violet was no trouble except when she was and she never gave her any trouble until when things started falling apart for her. Even though violet had house rent paid for her all the time, Mara still sent her share of the rent to Violet but she mostly uses it to buy grocery for the house. Mara could not think of a better roommate.
