11 - Dark Sinful Desires

Aria’s POV*

The tears were still slipping from my eyes when Kyle tried to kiss me suddenly but it didn’t stop the butterflies from fluttering in my belly and the firework from exploding around us even though I pulled away. My eyes questioned his and even though the magnetic pull between us still felt so strong and undeniable, I did not want to cheat on Shawn.

“I’m sorry, I – I – I don’t know what came over me, I just thought – ” Kyle stammered and I pulled away from him, dabbing at the tears that still fell from my eyes.

“You don’t have to apologize about anything” I said to him in a croaky voice.

“I shouldn’t have, you’re vulnerable right now and – ”

“You just had your tongue stuck down Sophie’s throat a few hours ago so I understand” I completed for him and his eyes pored over me. I couldn’t quite place the look he had on his face but it ranged from cockiness to apologetic.

Kyle sighed and ran his hands through his hair, while I struggled to put my stuff together into my bag.

“Aria I’m sorry – about everything”

“Define everything?”

He was about to speak when I interrupted him again and said “I’m not hurt by you anymore, I have moved on a long time ago”

Lies

“I’m with Shawn now, and I’m happy with him. He’s safe and secure and I’m pretty sure he’s not going to leave me when I need him the most”

A flash of hurt struck across Kyle’s face, and his eyes twitched as he tried to blink it away but he wasn’t fast enough.

“So you love him?” he questioned and when I was about to nod my head in response, he added again “More than you loved me?”

I paused, fixing my eyes on him. The truth just lay at the tip of my tongue but there was no way I was going to let it slip out of my mouth.

“You’re quiet Aria” he said tipping my chin to look up at him since he towered greatly above me in height. The attraction in those piercing blue eyes were damning and if I stared at it for long he was going to pull me in so I looked away.

“I should leave” I said, turning my back to leave but Kyle held my hands with my back still turned to him.

“Does he satisfy you Aria” he asked again, his hands suddenly tracing delicate lines on my neck and at the very spot that he knew made my knees weak and jelly like.

“Does he satisfy you like I did?” he went on and my breath hitched in my throat “Do you guys have wild untamed sex that leaves you breathless and begging for more” this time he moved closer to me with my back to turned to him and I could feel his hot breath fanning my ears. A chill ran down my spine with goose bumps spreading my flesh but I managed to stay still and not humping him that moment.

“It was always wild with us Aria, it was fun and – ”

“Stop” it sounded more like a plea than a command which I had intended it to be.

“Do you really want me to?” he kissed my neck and I shuddered, I could feel my resolve melting away but I was determined not to let it. I closed my eyes, waiting for the sinful desire to wash over and Kyle didn’t help matters when he turned me around to look at him and stare into those eyes.

“Aria – ” he cupped my face “I won’t let you go so easily this time”

“You’re my boss – ”

“I don’t care about that” he said

“I’m with Shawn”

Kyle groan, a deep guttural groan that showed frustration “Don’t mention his name – you belong to me Aria”

“No I don’t” I said as a matter of fact

“Yes you do” he repeated, his cockiness spilling off him and even smearing unto me that it brought out a deep annoyance I didn’t even know existed.

“You broke my heart” I said out aloud and even when I tried to disentangle from him, he was unwilling to let me go.

Kyle was silent but he just gazed at me

“We should stay far away from each other, you’re my boss and it’s against the code of ethics to be in any kind of sexual relationship with someone in a higher position and you know that”

“So what? You’re just going to avoid me?” he said and I nodded my head profusely.

“Yes Kyle, because if I don’t do that. I don’t think I can control myself around you”

“Then don’t”

KYLE’S POV

Then don’t

Aria’s eyes pored over me, her look laced with uncertainty and indecisiveness, even though I could already feel the internal conflict that was going on within her, I wanted to feed on it, to prey on it because it was our favorite toxic game to play. It made her irresistible and it made me want her more. I had no reason to hold myself back because there was no moral obligation holding me captive.

Suddenly, I grabbed her delicate waist and pulling her closer to me so I could get a whiff of her scent that always managed to drive me crazy. My eyes drifted down to her lips as she unconsciously licked them, my Adam apple bobbled in my throat and I wanted to take her right there and then.

“Then don’t” I repeated but she shook her head.

“This sinful attraction would only ruin me and God Kyle! I don’t want to be ruined by you anymore so just stay away from me” her face was only a few inches close to mine when she said that to me with a finality to her tone that caused a ripple in my chest.

“Good bye Kyle” she pulled away from me and this time I let her even though the pang in my chest was spreading but it was not a familiar pain and I closed my eyes as she packed her things to leave in silence. When I opened them, she was gone but just on the table there was her father’s necklace. A silver chain with a tiny boat pendant. I stared at it long enough for the guilt to start building up in my stomach. I should have left it there for her to find the next day but I wasn’t going to pass an opportunity to reel her back into my orbit – so I picked it up and I shoved it into my pocket.
