17 - I Got You
*Some drunken years ago*
The fluttering feeling in my stomach was euphoric as I ran into the water at the beach with Kyle breezing silently behind me. The sand beneath my feet, the gentle sound of waves crashing against the shore, and the cool breeze caressing my skin under the moonlight – all added to the enchantment of the moment.
My foot prints disappeared in the soft sand as I sprinted through, and squealing in delight when Kyle swept me off my feet effortlessly with my hands grabbing his hair to support myself even though he had no problem doing that but I always needed a excuse to touch him, to feel his skin next to mine and enjoy the electricity that coursed through my vein at his touch. I wrapped my skinny legs across his torso now, my hands around his neck and our skin damp from the crashing waves. With a simple movement, I moved his hair out of his eyes. His eyes, sparkling like stars held an undeniable magnetism that drew me closer to him. When he looked at me, I felt nothing else except my erratic pulse and the rapid beating of my heart. The way he looked at me made me feel seen, understood, and cherished. It was as if time stood still, and the world around us faded into insignificance.
“Kyle.” I whispered, I was full with euphoria. How on earth did I end up on a beach with skimpy clothes ad nearly freezing with this beautiful specimen of a man that I had accidentally met.
“Aria.” he whispered back. The cold air kissed our cheeks creating a contrast to the warmth of our hearts – my heart. Then he leaned in, his lips brushing against mine in a gentle yet passionate kiss that grew hungry with each passing second that our lips stayed glued together. He had kissed me more times than I could count but each time felt more ecstatic than the last. Each time he cupped my face and licked my lips, pulling me closer to him while I relished in the flavor of his mouth – I wanted more, I always did.
“I don’t want to wait anymore.” Kyle said to me after we pulled apart and I looked at him again because I couldn’t keep my eyes off him. His shirt was half buttoned exposing his skin underneath, rock hard abs that tightened at my touch.
“For what?” I questioned as we strolled along the beach now, his warm hands wrapped around mine.
Then he stopped and turned to face me, “Isn’t it obvious? How head over heels I am for you?”
I stopped too, my heart beating and my palms sweaty in his hold but my eyes never left his, how could they? I was enchanted.
“This feels – surreal.” I managed to say, “Like I’m trying to hold water even though I know it’s not possible, like at all.”
Kyle looked puzzled, almost offended by my statement but I knew what I was saying. It was very easy to fall in love with guys like Kyle and it was just as easy to get heart broken by them.
“You’re going to hurt me.” I was projecting, I was scared and I couldn’t hide it.
“I got you Aria,” he always said that and every time I believed him because what other choice did he give me? “The things you make me feel Aria, I have only read about them in books and seen them in movies, why would I want to throw that away?”
I shrugged in response but he pulled me closer to him and held me in his arms in a way that I felt he was trying t convey his emotions to me and I willed myself to believe him because I had already fallen head over heels with him, it was just a matter of time anyways with the way he looked at me, the way he kissed ME, the words he said to me and hell the way he fucked me, reaching deep into parts of my soul that had stayed hidden in the dark but Kyle fished them out and bared them out for me to see.
“Do you want me as much as I want you Aria?” he asked me but I stayed quiet with questioning eyes. I wanted him, I wanted him so bad but saying it out loud terrified me and he could sense it because in that moment he caressed my face with his hands, softly and reassuring followed by a simple kiss on my cheek he whispered in my ears.
“I got you Aria.” I shivered at his voice – low, husky and deeply masculine that my legs melted and I nodded at him.
“I want you so bad.” I whispered back, then he smiled.
“It’s settled then, you’re mine.”
I woke up the next morning to the soft rays of the sun hitting my face and when my eyes fluttered open, the bed was empty. I had spent the night in Kyle’s house, cuddled up in his arms after we had the most sensual and mind blowing sex on the beach. I stretched across the empty bed allowing myself to be fully awake before wondering where Kyle was – probably cooking breakfast for his new girlfriend, I blushed at the thought.
I pushed myself up from the bed and made my way outside his room dressed in his shirt and a shorts, I had already walked down the long flight of stairs when I began to hear voices coming from the kitchen. It was Kyle’s voice and then a older voice, whom I suspected to be his father but I stopped to listen.
“You’re getting distracted.” his father said and there was a bit of silence before Kyle spoke next.
“I’m not.” he said as a matter of factly.
“You didn’t show up to the meeting with the producers, how do you expect me to take your artistes seriously if you’re not there to back them up.” his father’s voice grew sterner with each passing second.
“I know, I’m sorry – I got occupied with something.”
“With a girl.” his father said, “The same bare-chested girl I saw up in my pool.” This time I walked into the kitchen when I realized I was being dragged into their conversation catching them both unawares and Kyle’s eyes lit up when he saw me even though there was a weird glint in them, I chose to ignore it.
He kissed my forehead and pulling me closer to him, “Hungry?” he asked and I nodded while I looked at his father whose eyes hadn’t still left mine, I felt oddly exposed. Kyle never introduced me to his father and I wondered if he was ever going to do that because the moment I walked into the kitchen, he had completely turned away from his father and paid all his attention to me, but I was curious. I wanted to know the story, I wanted to know the drama behind their relationship.
“Well I can’t cook for shit, this is ruined.” Kyle said, looking at the burnt pancake in the pan and I stifled a laugh.
“How about I just – ” I was going to say when his father interrupted me.
“Aren’t you going to introduce me to your girlfriend?” he said and I saw Kyle roll his eyes.
“Dad – ” he wanted to say but the man put his hands up cutting him short and facing me totally.
“You look oddly familiar, what is your name?”
I eyed him suspiciously before speaking, “Aria Thorne”
“Thorne,” he repeated, “It’s a crazy coincidence that I once had a business partner called Peter Thorne.”
My eyes widened in disbelief and I shot him an unbelievable look, “That’s my father”
