Chapter 14

Cyn’s POV


I awoke to my door opening. I looked up and saw Helena. The tears immediately came and she ran straight to me.
“What happened, I came back to my room and you were gone?” She asked, concerned.
“I had sex with Alex.” I sobbed.
“You had sex with Alex? Then why are you crying?” She asked as she wiped tears off my face.
“I didn’t want to, but he handcuffed me. What am I supposed to do? Can a mate rape a mate? Was it even rape if my body responded?” I asked her.
“I’m going to kill that fucker!” She yelled. I grabbed her shirt. “What do I do?” I asked her.
“First off, it doesn’t matter if your body had a reaction, it doesn’t know the difference between consensual and non consensual. Second, if you didn’t want it, it’s rape, regardless of who it is. Third, we need to tell someone, immediately. He can’t get away with this.”
Relenting, I nodded my head. Maybe if I told someone in the first place this wouldn’t have happened.
“Hey, lift your head girl, you have me here. You don’t have to go through this alone.” I leaned my head on her shoulder and let out all my tears. After awhile I calmed down a little and I sat back up.
“You ready?” She asked me. I nodded solemnly.
She grabbed my hand and led me downstairs to the alpha’s office.
*knock, knock, knock*
“Come in.” He said.
I walked in and saw Alpha James sitting at his desk.
“What can I do for you ladies?” He asked. I twiddled my fingers, unsure what to say.
“You have a rapist in the pack.” Helena said seriously. The alpha’s hand stilled above the paper he was writing on. He looked up at us and waved for Helena to continue.
“Cyn’s mate raped her.”
“Who is her mate?” He asked.
“Alex Johnson.” She answered. He set his pen down and sat back on his chair.
“Are you sure?” He asked. I looked at him in disbelief. “What do you mean am I sure? I know exactly who took me forcibly.”
He shook his head, “I just find it hard to believe that he did that. You always liked him, Cyn, everyone could tell.”
I looked at Helena and she seemed as flabbergasted as I was. I stood up and stepped out of the office, unable to look at the arrogant man. I walked straight to my mom and dad’s room.
I knocked on the door and mom answered, “mama, can we go to the police station?” I asked her nervously.
“What’s going on Cyn?” She asked, confused.
Helena came running up behind me and grabbed my mom’s hands. “Alex raped Cyn.” She whispered to her. My mother gasped and immediately tears began to fall.
“Get dressed properly, we’re going right now.” I hugged my mother, thankful she believed me.
“Did you tell Alpha James what happened?” She asked me. Helena growled, “yes, and he asked if she was sure. The idiot! I wanted to tear into him so bad!”
“He doesn’t matter in this case, I want this boy arrested.” My mother said angrily.
The car ride felt like it took forever. When we arrived, my mother went up to the counter and asked to make a police report. I stood there, awkwardly. After a few minutes, an officer came to gather us and take us back into a room.
“So ladies, what happened?” The lady officer asked us. She was pretty with short blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail.
“My daughter was raped by one of her friends. Well, they were friends, obviously not anymore.” She told her.
“Sweetheart, what I need you to do is write down what happened for me. You don’t need to give details of the actual assault, but we need as much information as possible. What I’m also going to do is have the hospital administer a rape kit. Do you know what that is?” She asked me softly.
I nodded, “yes, ma’am.”
She left the room after passing me a pen and paper. I wrote down everything that happened. When I was finished I breathed out a sigh. Officer Nancy came back in the room shortly with a sheet of paper. “Go to the hospital and give them this case number. After we process everything, we’ll get a warrant for his arrest. I’m so sorry this happened to you sweet girl, we will do everything in our power to prosecute this man.”
I thanked her and we left. I felt a small weight lifted though I still felt a bit worried. I didn’t want to go back to the pack house.
I thought about where I could go.
“Mama, I don’t want to go back. Can you pack some things for me? I can’t go back right now.” I told her.
“Where will you go honey?” She asked.
“I was thinking of asking Tucker’s grandma if I could stay with her. I know, it sounds weird, but I feel like she’d be okay with it, especially considering Tucker is my boyfriend.”
“Oh my god, Tucker is your boyfriend? Is he good to you?” I gave mom a small smile. “Yes, he’s the best. Though I’m not looking forward to telling him what happened.”
“I’m sure if you tell him you need a bit of time to tell him, he would understand. That’s what a good mate would do.” She said.
“I’ll pack your stuff.” Helena reassured me.
I closed my eyes, thankful for mom and Helena.
We arrived at the pack house and I stayed in the car. Helena came back out with a worried Tucker and then she went back in to give us some space.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” Tucker ran to me and asked.
“Tucker, do you think your grandma would let me stay with her for a little bit? I can’t stay here right now.” He looked in my eyes, searching them before nodding. “Let me call her, but I’m sure she’d be okay with it.”
He stepped away to call her and I remained in the car.
He came back to me a few minutes later, “she said she’d love to have you. And Cyn? I’ll stay with you, too. Whatever is going on, we’ll work through it, okay?”
“Thank you Tucker, you’re amazing and I’m so thankful that you’re my boyfriend.” I told him with a small smile.
He grinned at me, “so I’m your boyfriend?”
I blushed, “I mean, I think so. If you want.”
“Of course! You make me so happy, Cyn.” He grabbed my face and pressed a kiss to my lips. It wasn’t sexual at all, it was just filled with love which brightened my day.
Helena and mom came back out shortly and Tucker went inside to pack.
“Tucker is going to drive me, I told mom and Helena. "He’s coming with me.”
My mother smiled, “I’m glad he’s going to be there to take care of you. Don’t forget honey, we’re here for you, too.”
“Thank you mama and Helena, I love you both so much.” I began crying again. Helena rubbed my back and whispered comforting words in my ears.
10 minutes later Tucker came out and helped load my stuff into his car.
I hugged and kissed mom and Helena goodbye and we drove to his grandma’s house. He rubbed my knuckles while driving, calming me. When we arrived we walked in the front door with our luggage.
“Is that my favorite granddaughter in law?” I hear his grandmother call out. I giggled and he rolled his eyes.
She ran to the front door and enveloped me in a huge hug. “Stay as long as you need to.” She whispered in my ear, bringing tears to my eyes again.
“Thank you so much, ma’am.” I told her as she released me.
She laughed, “stop calling me ma’am. Call me grandma or Cindy, please.”
I smiled, “okay grandma.”
She led us inside and showed me the guest room we would be staying in. I was surprised she put us in the same room.
“Grandma would rather I not wake her up by sneaking into your room,” Tucker laughed. I blushed at the thought of sleeping with him.
“Plus she really loves you, I’m just glad you’re actually my girlfriend.” He kissed my face and we unpacked. When finished, I walked out onto the balcony and looked out at the night sky. I made a wish on the stars that everything would be alright. At that moment, Tucker came up behind me and kissed my neck.
“I’ll take care of you,” he whispered in my ear. I turned in his arms and pressed my lips to his.
“I’m going to take a shower.” I told him. He guided me to the adjoining bathroom and left me to get cleaned up. I undressed and saw all the marks of the assault, I quickly hopped in the shower, not even waiting for it to warm up, and began scrubbing. After almost an hour I got out, feeling a little better. I was thankful Tucker didn’t ask me any questions. He truly is amazing. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and patted the spot on the bed next to him. I crawled in and he spooned me, making me feel protected. I quickly fell asleep in his warm arms.
